There are three bedrooms total in this unit with a shared bathroom My wife and I live in the unit directly behind this one so we're easy to reach if you have any questions. There is a clothes washer and drier on site that you can use for free! Any other questions, just ask!
Private bedroom, TV, and free wifi. Shared access to living room (larger TV), kitchen, bathroom, and front yard area.
Interaction with Guests
My wife and I live right next door in the back half of the duplex, so if you ever need anything, we are easy to reach. I'm generally home for move-in and move-out when possible.
There is a bus station about 10 minutes walk away... or there is free street parking if you have your own car.
Just be cool! Don't make a lot of noise late at night or do anything illegal. Smoking is fine outside just not in the house please. You can use any of the kitchen equipment including dishes etc, all I ask is that you clean up after yourself. The living room area is shared common space, so feel free to use it, just be courteous of others!
Dan and Rebecca were lovely, welcoming hosts, and it was a pleasure to be in their home. They made sure we were comfortable during our stay and while we did not get to see them very much, in our limited interactions they were fun, helpful, and really nice. My boyfriend and I stayed in their private room for one month, and it was a pleasant experience: we had use of a full kitchen, HD TV in the bedroom, comfortable bed, a nice common area, and a washer and dryer on site made laundry a cinch. For the incredibly affordable price, staying at their place was a real steal.
Now, here are some things I wish I would have known before booking a stay here. Please note that none of these elements are due to the fault or oversight of Dan and Rebecca, who were perfect -- merely information that I think will be helpful to folks looking to stay:
- If you are booking the room for more than a couple of weeks, you should know that it's exactly as it looks: a very small room, with little floor space. The two drawers under the bed are ample storage, but if you stay for a month or so, it will feel start to feel cramped pretty quickly. The listing is for one person, but we put two bodies in that room, so we knew what we were signing up for -- but if you do this, just be prepared and know in advance that while the benefit is really cheap rent, the cost is a rather tight living space.
- There are two other bedrooms in the house, which are currently occupied by two other tenants who have been there for a year or more. They are good people, and it was fun to hang out with them, though they are used to lots of airbnb traffic, so interaction is fairly limited. No minuses here - I just think it's helpful to know in advance who you'll be sharing a space with.
- The neighborhood was the toughest part of staying here for us. Torrance is not really a place to hang out: It's a mixed industrial and residential city, so you'll see plenty of huge industrial buildings owned by Honda, Toyota, etc. If you like to go for a run in the mornings, you will not find a park anywhere close by. There are plenty of amenities not far away, but if you're looking for a neighborhood close to coffee shops, walkable sidewalks, or just a relaxing ambience, this isn't it. We drove out almost every day to Redondo Beach and other places. That said, it's a good launching point to get to most parts of LA, so if you have a car, it's not so bad. Just be aware, esp. if you are not familiar with LA, of how much driving you will have to do.
Other than that, we really enjoyed our time here.
what i want call Dan and his wife Robica is the prince and the princess, that is what they really are, Dan is a handsome successful business man, which influenced the way we were treated as tenants( Dan does not like to call us"tenants" he likes to call us guests. i had to delay the payment for one of the months for some unbeatable reasons, i just mentioned it to Dan once, yet, i did not hear a word from Dan until i got things resolved and thankfully paid it. he lives by, we never seen him and his prity princess but a few times smiling and asking how things are going. the house is really clean, shiny and tidy, every thing is working nicely. the area around is workers families, so, you can expect humanities, Dan the prince as i see him Robica his respectful wife the princess as i see hir also, will let feel home, my mates in the house Mat, paul and alixes, were very nice people, i was the only annoying person, i hope they forgive my inability to do better. bye and i will not forget you all.
Dan's place is very clean, cozy, and nice. It's a beautiful place, and the roommates are super nice. I had a nice, easy stay, just the kind you're looking for away from home!
Dan was really great host, helped with anything I needed. The room is great for any traveler, you even get towels and some snacks are waiting for you in the room when you arrive. Thanks Dan
A really nice place, clean, well maintained and very pretty. Dan is great! He responds very quickly to any questions we might have, very helpful and hospitable. Overall, a great experience!
This was my first time using AirBnB and Dan helped make it an awesome stay. The room was immaculately clean an just perfect for what I needed, some where to sleep and to study. Also the wireless internet was fast and the TV with cable in every room was a nice touch. Dan lets all his guests just do their thing and it's great.

About the Host, Dan
I love traveling! I FINALLY finished my dream of visiting all 50 United States, plus I've visited about a dozen different countries at this point. My next big goal is to visit all 7 continents!
Regarding my rentals: I have a three bedroom "half of a duplex" for rent in Torrance. My beautiful wife Rebekah and I live in the back unit of the duplex in Torrance and we rent out the front unit.
If you need ideas for cool things to do in/around LA, we can probably help you out, just ask!
We like to keep things generally pretty clean and neat, but also very chill and comfortable! Home is where you relax :)
