António Fernandes, wood sculptor for 40 years. His work shows a very characteristic art of carving wood, resulting in unique pieces. In this house you will find an interior staircase, a bookcase and the coat and umbrella stand.
Vanda Vilela, painter, nourishes a great passion for nature and her raw material - paper. For this house she developed creative pieces in “papercut” having the Redstart, a small bird and frequent inhabitant of Cerdeira, as theme.

If you are looking for a unique experience this is the place to go. We loved the restored cottage. The view is stunning. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and well run. Breakfast was great. Kirsten and Alana were both very pleasant and helpful. Highly recommend this stay. Hiking was great.

We just wished we had more time to spend in the village and the surrounding area. The small village was wonderful to walk around. The hiking in the area was great, very relaxing. The nights were wonderfully quiet and restful watching the bats and listening to the birds.

We had a lovely experience staying in the schist house. It was even more picturesque than the pictures tell! As a woodworker i really appreciated the quality and care that had gone into the restoration of the cottage and other places in the village. Our host Tania was very kind and helpful. She was also always available in the cafe if we had needed help with anything. Fully recommended!

The location of the house is absolutely beautiful if you are looking for a quiet place surrounded by nature. Even though it seems very remote it is in close proximity to Lousa and only an hours drive away from Coimbra. The instructions given to us on how to find the village and what to do in the area were very helpful. We were traveling with our 8 months old baby and were happy that Kerstin provided us with a baby cot. Also not having to worry about breakfast, since all we needed was delivered to us in cute baskets to our door every morning, was a plus. The apartment is designed very thoughtfully bringing the schist character inside. I would definitely recommend to stay at this lovely schist-house to everyone.
