Other Things to Note
I have a very casual approach to breakfast. There will be coffee on in the morning. In the fridge there is fruit and usually hard boiled eggs. Help yourselves! There is cereal or toast available too. I often have muffins or other pastries too.
No smoking. We are a smoke free home. Sorry for the inconvenience but cannot have smoking anywhere on the property due to allergies (this includes all the outside spaces).
No pets. You may communicate with us about your small lap dog as we have done that in the past. Please don't use instabook if you have a pet without consulting us.
Please park outside our house facing the direction of traffic. Please park to allow space for two vehicles --- not parking right in the middle:) Please do not park even for short periods in the handicap parking belonging to our next door neighbour.
Only guests who are staying here should be spending time here without prior approval.
Okay enough rules we want you to have a good time here, be part of our family and have fun!! You are welcome to join in with us for any socializing!
Andrea was a great host! She was very accommodating and made us feel very welcomed in her lovely home. The place was very clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was spectacular with the large shower head / space. The place was close to downtown Portland / areas we wanted to visit, and the area felt very safe.
A lovely home just blocks away from a great neighbourhood in Portland, Andrea's room with a private bath is a great setup. The layout almost felt like an adjoining pool house. The toiletries she provides is better than most hotels. Her place is homey and seems like an idyllic home for a young family, though I didn't get to meet them as they were away. The host's communication is clear and thorough, making sure I found her place in the evening by myself. Would do this again.
Andrea was a wonderful host. She and her husband were so warm and welcoming, we really enjoyed talking to them. The home was clean and comfortable, the bed was soft, and the large shower was to die for after a couple weeks of travel. The space was as described and then some- a beautiful house in a nice neighborhood and very easy to get about the city. Andrea lent us a couple bike also, which was so kind of her, and it was the best way to explore the many neighborhoods of Portland. Communication was was easy and quick. All in all, I would highly recommend staying here and wish our time could have been longer.
Andrea was very welcoming and even had a little tea tray out for when I arrived. Her home was lovely and the room was very nice - especially the en suite shower! This spot is located near the Hawthorne District which had great shops and eateries. The (email hidden) Tabor Park was great and flat for my morning run.
We very much enjoyed our four nights with Andrea and her husband and sweet kids. We chose the place partially because it is close to where our daughter lives, but enjoyed the fact that it was near Hawthorne. If you have the time, you can do a long, but interesting walk all the way to the SW and then up the river to the downtown. Andrea and her husband gave us a warm welcome and first night we were there invited into their garden to meet some neighbors and have a drink! The room was fresh and comfortable and tastefully, but not overly decorated, which is what i like...not too much "stuff". The bathroom is new and nicely done. Portland was nearing the end of their summer heat wave when we arrived, but as it was still warm we were happy to be able to use a window air conditioner. Nice neighborhood, and nice people. We would go back there for sure. Thank you Andrea
Andrea and her husband were wonderful hosts and very accommodating. We instantly felt at home, and really enjoyed the place. We also loved riding the bikes around Mt Tabor and the beautiful streets of Portland - courtesy of our hosts! Highly recommend.
Andrea and her husband were so warm and wonderful, and their home was a welcomed retreat. As soon as my friend and I settled into our digs we felt relaxed-- beautifully clean with an en suite bathroom that above and beyond some of the hotels I've stayed in in Portland. There was a charming garden in the back, and Andrea offered us homemade Zucchini muffins in the morning. The home is walking distance to Mt. Tabor park and great area bars/restaurants/food trucks. I'd absolutely stay here again next time I'm in the area. Thank you Andrea!
