  • I had the pleasure of staying with Andrea and her family for an extended amount of time as I was in the Portland area for a clinical rotation. I knew absolutely no one in the city, but Andrea and her family made me feel right at home! They were warm and welcoming and included me just like one of the family. Their house was lovely and comfortable, and the children are a pleasure! If you are considering staying here while you are in Portland, do it! You'll be glad you did!

  • It is a very pleasant place to stay, and well located near a beautiful park, and all of the action on Hawthorne. It's a beautiful house, and Andrea and her family are very nice and accommodating. The only drawback is that, while there is a separate bathroom for this room, you need to use the upstairs bathroom to shower.

  • Andrea's Mt. Tabor Retreat is a wonderful place to stay. It is a short, garden-ey walk from her house to the great paths of Mt. Tabor. Her home is warm, inviting, welcoming and at the same time respectful of privacy. The room is clean, comfortable, light in day and peaceful/dark/restful at night. Andrea is the perfect host. Excellent, clear, thoughtful communication in all facets of stay. Recommend highly. Would love to visit again. Thank you!!!

  • Andrea and husband, Matt, were very thoughtful of my daughter's and my needs as travelers, tending generously to the necessities of familiarizing us to the ins and outs their truly lovely home, and quiet gorgeous neighborhood. Our large bedroom, separated from the dining room by shaded French doors, was artistically decorated, comfortable, and pleasing. All, including the half bath (full bath accessible in other part of house) was very clean, well stocked w/ towels (even Mrs. Meyers hand soap), and well lit.

As it was not an issue at our previous accommodations, it didn't occur to me to ask whether or not having a bath (yes, they have a great antique tub), or shower late at night would disturb them or the children, so I opted not to. Knowing this couple, I'm sure this would not have been a problem, but just think about and plan this need ahead.

Parking availability was no problem. Good location and accessibility to social food networking.

Gluten free muffins, fresh fruit, and tea were awaiting us as we were leaving, and Andrea kindly sat and chatted w/ us. Great family atmosphere.

  • Great room in a lovely older home. It's 10 minutes or less to the Convention Center area. The backyard is a joy if you happen to stay in the summer months.

  • Andrea was very welcoming and helpful, and has a lovely family. Her beautiful house and garden were a pleasure to stay in. It was great taking walks in nearby Mt Tabor park. I hope to stay there again!

  • I had a great experience staying with Andrea and her family. Very warm and welcoming - Friday night when I arrived, I joined them for happy hour in the back yard! I can definitely recommend!

  • Andrea and her family were so welcoming! I had such a lovely stay in their home.

Andrea was very helpful in giving me great directions to their home, as well as recommendations on places to go, depending on what I was looking for.

Everything was ready for me when I arrived, including towels and clean bedding, and even water and tea, which was very thoughtful. The room is very clean and the bathroom as well.

The buses made it easy to get into the city center. It took me about 30 minutes once the bus arrived, so including time waiting for the bus, allotting about 45 minutes worked out. To get to the airport, it took me about an hour and a half, due to the wait between the bus and the MAX. As long as you leave yourself enough time, the location is very convenient.

I'd definitely stay with Andrea and her family again if I'm ever in Portland again :)
