Interaction with Guests
I usually will greet guests and show how things work etc. I'll be staying nearby enough that you can contact me if you have questions but I 'm very respectful of guests peace and privacy.
It's very quiet and peaceful with few cars. It's sunny and open, and there is a creek in back bringing cool air when it's warm out. The neighborhood is friendly. There are hawks, raccoons, deer, turkey and other wild things around here.
Just a few minutes away is shopping at the Deerpark center.
The bus stop is just down the street, to take you south to Watsonville and Monterey or north to Soquel, Capitola and Santa Cruz.
Bicycles here for use as well.
Other Things to Note
If at all possible I prefer if you use the outside grill for cooking meat. If weather doesn't allow it's fine to cook meat inside, but make sure to use the vent fan.
No loud music in general, it's a peaceful kind of neighborhood.
I will have the house very clean for you, but it is not a hospital. Some folks have very strict ideas about what a clean house means. The reviews rate me pretty favorably in this area but if there is a spot on a plate the dishwasher missed, don't panic, I'll call the hazmat squad!
While I may be nearby I will certainly respect your privacy. Don't hesitate to call me with any questions or help needed.
Shoes off policy please in the house, so make sure to bring your slippers! This street only has 10 houses so it is good neighbor policy to drive slowly (15-20mph) coming and going. THe Yamaha baby grand piano is available for an extra fee of $50. This fee is to help with piano tuning. Please no banging on piano! No loud music past 10pm. Please handle recycling responsibly, there is a large blue container on driveway side of house. There is a cat that lives here and she is used to coming and going. If you don't like cats or are allergic i can arrange for her to stay elsewhere. Her name is Rita and she is sweet quiet friendly clean playful and adorable. She might occasionally come in to say hi and have a bite to eat if you care to fill her (website hidden) Most likely you won't see her much.
Steve was a delight to coordinate our stay with and his creekside home with a porch built around redwood trees is incredibly charming. The space is open yet cozy, tastefully decorated yet comfortable, quiet yet very close to beach, forest, and town. Steve thought of all the touches to make us feel at home during our stay, from helpful directions to a welcoming gift of bread and cheese waiting for us upon arrival. Four of us stayed comfortably with room for another easily. We recommend this home whole-heartedly!
Steven is a very kind and considerate host! We absolutely loved our stay at his amazing, beautiful and peaceful bungalow. This was our second time staying here and it was fabulous. Hopefully we will make it back to stay again if it's still available.
Steve is very nice and accommodating!
We like the home very much. It is very comfortable. It is well equipped with all kinds of kitchen utensils! You can enjoy beautiful music!
Steve was very nice and genuinely attempted to make us feel comfortable without intruding on our privacy. The home was fairly tidy but not immaculate. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were clean. The kitchen was very nice but perhaps too much of his food was left in the cabinets and refrigerator. Steve left us some cheese and raisin bread which was very tasty and most generous. The neighborhood was spectacular as there was a enormous grass field right in front and a beautiful redwood forest behind.
It's the first time we visited Steve's house. Located near a natural forest. A good place to relax, especially the piano : ). We also came across a pretty cat called LaLa, she was cute and gentle. And Steve is the best host I've ever seen . We've spent a long time going around his house and take a lot of pictures of stars in the park near his house.
It's a good trip. Nice to meet Steve.
We were the second time at Steve's place and had a great week. The house with the wonderful redwood backyard and the well tuned grand piano is really unique. As the first time we loved everything. Thank you Steve, especially for the fantastic music session. :-)
I would recommend Steve's place 100%. He is a very nice guy, he was always very communicative with us.
The house is cozy and clean, we were 6 fitting perfectly there! The backyard is amazing and the best feature is the fire place that warms up the entire house. When we get to the house he was very kind and had cheese, bread and more groceries to welcome us.
I would definitely come back!
