One bedroom, one bath corporate apartment in an owner occupied, elegant victorian townhome in the middle of Mount Vernon.
This beautifully furnished second floor apartment ready for your weekend away or an extended stay. The kitchen is fully equipped, towels and linens are included.
Nestled on a tree-lined side street, we're right around the corner from from everything historic Mount Vernon has to offer, including restaurants, theatre, museums, symmphony hall and nightlife.
The central location makes our apartment an ideal hub from which to explore the rest of the city, and the region. Stops for the MARC train, Amtrak, Lightrail, The FREE Charm City Circulator, as well as the Johns Hopkins shuttle, are all within walking distance. There's several Zipcar stations within a block radius of our front door.
Susanne has a lovely, historic home is a very convenient location in Mt Vernon. Walk up to your very well appointed 2nd floor apartment to sleep in the most comfortable bed. And I have very high marks for the "clean" factor. Not a piece of dust in sight. And it is so spacious. NOTE: The home is from 1850, so the water pressure is not high. An you do occasionally hear other people coming and going on the wooden stairs (there is another apt above). But I did not find either of these things a problem. will go back as soon as I can.
And charming it was! Susanne + Commissioner Joe were fantastic hosts that offered a ton of local suggestions that were all in walking distance from the apartment. The apartment was super clean, comfortable + had all the amenities one wants on a vacation. I highly recommend getting charmed in Charm City!
Susan has created an excellent rental in the heart of Baltimore's Mount Vernon neighborhood. This apartment is part of a larger row house consisting of four apartments. Susan and her husband live on the first floor. The apartment itself consists of a large bedroom, full kitchen, bathroom and complete dining or entertaining room. The kitchen and dining room feature large windows that provide ample daylight and a view of the church across the street. The apartment was amazingly clean.
I used the apartment during a conference which was held at the convention center. The distance between the apartment and the convention center made for about a 20 minute walk in the morning. There are a number of nice places to get coffee or breakfast between the two. It is worth noting that the restaurants near the apartment were preferable to those which feed on conference traffic. The area near the apartment has a number of good restaurants, as well as conveniences like groceries.
Susanne was an excellent host. Her apartment, and the building it is in, was simply beautiful and is located in a great part of Baltimore. She provided us with excellent dining recommendations and advice on what to do in the neighborhood. I hope to stay there again.
In a word: Brilliant. Clean, airy, sunny space on the top floor of a historic brownstone in the Mt. Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore. Totally reminded us of Paris! Very comfortable bed, pristine bathroom, and very warm (even during the Arctic Vortex). Insane selection of bars, coffee shops, and restaurants just steps from the front door-- we recommend Hammand's (Afghani food), Milk and Honey (for coffee and CROISSANTS!), the Tavern on the Hill (incredible whiskey selection; have the bartender--Jeff, I think his name may have been?--help you out!), and the best pho we have ever had at the Mekhong Delta Cafe (just a few minutes away by car). Just a few blocks from the Walter's Art Gallery-- an easy and pleasant walk. Joe and Susanne, our hosts, were charming, helpful, friendly, and kind-- we lacked nothing. Good wifi, comforting tea and coffee selection, superb kitchenette... My only negative comments are minor: a) the heat is by radiator, so it's a little dry and b) the water pressure in the shower wasn't the best (but hey, it is an old house and we still got clean, which is the whole point of a shower). Other than that, it was truly blissful. Perfect. We'll be back soon!
Another great overnight with Susanne and Joe, especially in light of our travel tribulations. Thanks! Laurie wanted to see the much touted holiday decor and it was lovely, the food was wonderful and the company grand. Hope to stay longer some day and get back into Balmer again. This must be one of the great pads from which to explore from and return to. Thanks, guys!
The apartment is a very charming Victorian gem and elegantly furnished. Location is exceptional as it is close to everything. Joe and Susanne are gracious hosts and attended to all our needs. They had done an exceptional job of decorating for the holidays. The overall stay was exactly what we had hoped for.
Susanne has a beautiful old-style apartment in one of the most interesting parts of town. She and her husband are also very helpful with local tips -- highly recommended!
Loved, loved, loved the apartment. So spacious and clean. A few eccentricities as it is over 100 years old but part of the charm. Conveniently located in a very walkable part of the city. Lots of sites close by and restaurants.
Susanne was very prompt in all correspondence and so accommodating when we had a last minute arrival time change. She and husband, Joe, provided great information verbally and with printed material in the unit.
I highly recommend the 'Charm City' and Susanne's charming apartment.
What fabulous hosts, and what an amazing historic townhouse. The apartment was huge with windows and amenities that made me feel I was in a fancy Paris apartment!
