The Space

Come stay in our cozy, private room in our spacious three bedroom garden apartment! We are a trio of professionals who travel quite a bit and love meeting new guests! (if you are renting the room, there will be no more than two of us in the space). Our home is bright, open, quiet and surrounded by green space.

Your room holds a comfortable queen sized memory foam bed and ample storage space for your travel items.

Our shared bathroom offers both a shower and a tub - just in case you need a good soak. You'll have full access to WiFi, a large sunny kitchen, comfy living room, lush backyard, and a rooftop with views of Manhattan...which, by the way, is only 15 minutes away by car or subway.

We live with a 1 small dog so animal friendly people are ideal. Our place is great for those visiting NY who want a closer view of life in one of the up-and-coming neighborhoods in Brooklyn! To learn more about our neighborhood, check out (website hidden).

We are a 5-6 minute walk to the 2/3,4/5 train lines, 10 minute walk to the C line, and 15 minute walk to the B,Q lines.

Laundry is one block away and several organic markets and cafes line the main avenue two minutes from our front door. Within ten minutes walking, you are at the Brooklyn Museum and the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. Five minutes further and you are at Prospect Park ((website hidden)) where you'll find walking/running/biking trails, a zoo, a vintage carousel and even horseback riding!

  • Mel and Jeremy’s place is something I call « home away from home ». It is a very cosy, relaxing and peaceful place. Their apartment is spacious, bright and nicely decorated, and you can enjoy a nice backyard with birds and squirrels. It is very well located, in a nice and lively neighborhood. The subway is very close (few minutes away) and it is very easy to reach Manhattan. Mel is an amazing host and a beautiful person. She is funny, very kind and caring. She made sure I had everything I needed, and that I was comfortable all the time. I loved our conversations and having tea with her. I met Jeremy very briefly but he is also very friendly and very easy to talk to.
I had a fantastic time at NYC and at Mel and Jeremy’s home! This was my first Airbnb experience and it could not been better!! Thank you so much for making me feel part of your place and for being so warm and welcoming!! I miss you and would love to meet you again!

  • Melonie was a great host. She was awesomely helpful and did all possible (and more!) to assure we had the most perfect stay! Her apartment is very well located, near the Brooklyn Museum and more than one subway line, so getting around was pretty easy. We'd surely come back! :-)

  • Melanie was an amazing host. She was very sociable, yet not intrusive at all. Basically, the perfect host. Gorgeous place with everything you could want. She has decorated it beautifully. The apartment is conveniently located near both the 2/3 trains and the 4/5 trains, making it extremely easy to get to either east or west side Manhattan. Definitely would recommend anyone to stay here when exploring the city.

  • Melonie was such an amazing host to me and my husband on our trip to New York. It was our first time in the city so we were out and about most of the time, but when we were at Mel's place she was welcoming, so easy to talk to and a joy to be around.
The room we stayed in was nicely decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable! Also, the pizza place on the corner (Rosco's) by Mel's place is awesome!! We had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend staying with Mel!

My boyfriend and I stayed with Melonie for 3 nights and 3 days. Even though we got there later than expected, she was the most sweet and friendliest host from the moment she greeted us.

The location was good for us. It’s within walking distance from 2, 3, 4, or 5 trains that head right into Manhattan (3 and 4 is express with fewer stops) and an even shorter walk to the S shuttle train that connects above mentioned subways or Q and N, which takes a little bit more of train transfer maneuvering. But train trips into and back from Manhattan were a cinch.

Melonie was working most of the time we stayed with her, but the few times our schedules permitted us to mingle made out stay that much more memorable. We were able to share a light breakfast over great conversation and we always had great local sightseeing suggestions.

The bed at Melonie was super comfortable as it is memory foam mattress. We would definitely stay with Melonie next time we visit NYC and would recommend any of our friends to as well.

  • I really enjoyed my stay with Mel and Jeremy. They are so welcoming and friendly but, at the same time, leave you to get on with your own stuff. It's like being an instant housemate. The bed is just the best bed ever- a memory foam mattress. I love Gigi the house chihuahua, so cute! Highly recommended.

Five things (ok, seven things) I can't live without: 1. Friends/Family 2. Sunshine/Surf 3. Travel 4. Love 5. Nutella Overall I'd have to say our place is one of warmth and comfort; a definite home away from home. I feel it's really important to treat people how you'd like to be treated, especially when traveling! What does that mean? Hot coffee or tea in the morning, NY bagels or muselli with yogurt, a clean, quiet room to rest your weary head from long day of walking the city and lots of help. After living in and travelling much of southeast Asia the past year, I learned how what sharing and hosting were all about from a completely different perspective. So opening up our apartment just feels natural I guess. Life Motto: Life is not a journey to the grave arriving in a beautiful and well kept body...but to skid in sideways thoroughly exhausted and totally disheveled loudly yelling, : WOW! WHAT A RIDE!!!"
