About This Listing
Stay in our comfortable home just 2 blocks to BART (the San Francisco subway system), in quaint Glen Park. It's a village type neighborhood with restaurants, cafes, an upscale grocery store (Canyon Market) and a beautiful natural park with trails called Glen Canyon Park. Downtown is only a 15 min BART ride away. Our home is a 1908 Victorian cottage with vintage charm yet modern kitchen and bath. The room is small but comfortable with stylish furnishings, including a desk. down comforter and pillows and a foam topper for a relaxing nights sleep. Just steps to the (shared) bathroom. You'll have your own linens and are welcomed to use our shampoo/conditioner. We have 2 dogs so if you are allergic or don't like dogs, this wouldn't be the best place for you. They tend to bark when we come home but settle down pretty quickly. You're welcomed to use the kitchen for light use ( not really for cooking) and enjoy our walk out yard-from the kitchen. We respect your privacy and have our own room and office upstairs. Our daughter is in college so we'd love to share our space with others.
Internet connection is easy with wifi. There's no TV in the room but the wifi will connect you to online entertainment or you can use our netflix. The house has an open floor plan, fully detached from the neighbors so there are windows on all 4 sides offering light and quiet.
Easy street parking with restrictions. Street cleaning on alternate weeks, 2 and 4 hour limits on alternate sides Monday-Friday. The 44 bus is at the corner that takes you across town and to Golden Gate Park, the J Church streetcar is 2 blocks and goes downtown. It's scenic and fun (goes right next to Dolores Park) but takes a lot longer to get downtown than BART. If driving and you need to go to Silicon Valley or the east bay the 280 freeway is 2 blocks away.
1 Bart stop to San Francisco City College
1 Bart to to 24th St in The Mission
3 stops to the Civic Center and 4 stops to downtown
Note: The street view is not our street. Our's has very charming Victorian cottages.
If walking from BART up Bosworth St, there's a hill to walk 1/2 way up the block and about 28 stairs to the front door. I don't find it a problem but 1 guest mentioned the hill so thought I'd include it in case there may be mobility issues for anyone.
Interaction with Guests
Someone will meet you (either me or my husband Don depending on our schedules) so we can show you around and give you the key.
We're available during your stay but sensitive to your need for space if desired and have our own room and office upstairs.

Most of all enjoy your stay!
I spent 3 nights at Beth & Don´s hous. The room was lovely, the bed extremely confortable, and the location to BART is for only few minutes walk away. Withing 15 minutes I was in downtown. I only had one evening when unfortunately I could not get into the house, but Beth and Don solved the problem with the front door quickly, it should not be an issue anymore.
Beth and Don are perfect hosts, very welcoming and keen to make my stay pleasant. Very friendly dogs also! The room is bright and comfortable, I loved the wonderful cozy bed. The house is located in a nice neighbourhood and close to the BART- just three stops away from downtown. Thank you!
Great place to stay. The room was very nice. The house is very clean and was nicely decorated with flours. You could feel that Beth and Don love hosting guests. I had a great time. Thanks once again for taking care of me.
The moment I came through the door Beth and her husband made me feel right at home. They were easy to talk to and full of information. With a last minute change of plans I had to switch rooms and stay with one of Beth's friends. Beth arranged all of it and was a great help. This was my first time traveling by myself and I could not say enough good things about Beth, her husband, her cute dogs and her friends! You will not be disappointed!

About the Host, Beth
Don and I have lived in Glen Park for more than 20 years and in SF for more than 30. We know San Francisco very well and can help guide you with suggestions for getting around town and having fun. We're both realtors so we know neighborhoods that many long time residents have never heard of. Our schedules are flexible so we're in and out of the house and have a home office to work from but it's away from the room that's available to rent. We're low keyed, relaxed, like to BBQ and will gladly share with you if you're around. We like to meet new people, travel when we can and go to our house in Sonoma when that's not rented. We love the City but also love the quiet of our neighborhood yet know that we're only a few BART stops away from downtown or the Mission. We can walk to our great neighborhood restaurants and cafes or hike in our hidden treasure "Glen Canyon Park". We have 2 dogs but keep them out of the room that you'd be staying in.
I'd love to hear about you when you're inquiring about availibility or wanting to book a time.
