Very large and stylish architect-designed apartment right in the heart of Amsterdam! The perfect base to explore the city. Beware: once you lie back in one of the loungers and turn on the home cinema system you might not want to leave :)
Situated on the historic Singel canal this apartment could not be more central and is very large (100 square metres is HUGE by Amsterdam standards) arranged over two floors.
The ground floor comprises one huge open-plan kitchen, dining, living and sleeping area. Fully equipped kitchen with oven, microwave, dishwasher. Dining table seats 8 people. Living space includes large leather sofa and two loungers, stereo system and home cinema for television and movie watching.
Upstairs mezzanine level has home office space, second sleeping area, bathroom and door leading to an outside terrace.
You have super-fast Wi-Fi throughout the entire apartment.
This is the perfect base for you to explore the sights of Amsterdam. The Singel is the oldest and most central of the ring of canals, added to the official UNESCO World Heritage list in 2010. Dam square, the main shopping area, museums, theatres and night life are all within easy walking distance.
There is a bicycle hire shop a few minutes from the apartment, ideal for the full Amsterdam experience, but you might not need a bike as you can do everything on foot!
I'll also take the chance to mention one other place worth knowing about: Spui Square. One end is lined with cute local bars and restaurants, the other end is the city's main shopping street. In between its all historic buildings, trees and a weekly book fair. Tourists often know Leidseplein, Museumplein, maybe Rembrandtplein, but locals know Spui. Its an under-rated gem, and its 30 seconds from your door. Just an insider's tip for you :)
Note: the listing says we are able to accommodate 4 people, which it can with two double-beds (done it many times when friends are in town). But since its all open-plan I would only recommend it if you're good friends!
Words can't do justice to this apartment so I'll let the pictures do the talking, browse the photos and you'll get a very clear idea of how its all laid out. Fresh linen/towels are all provided as well as tea/coffee/milk/juice etc. It really has everything you will need.
One final note: this is a non-smoking apartment. Please keep all smoking (of any kind ;) to the coffeeshops and the terraces. Thankyou!
That's it for now, I look forward to welcoming you to this beautiful apartment in this beautiful city!
The place is yours. Mi casa su casa...
Interaction with Guests
I'll be there to open the door and get you settled in, after that you're on your own!
I have Three House Rules:
1. Please take good care of the place! I look after my stuff I would hope you'll do the same :)
2. I have neighbours upstairs who can get disturbed when it gets late and loud. Please keep them in mind when playing music/movies late at night.
3. I said this in the description, but to repeat: this is a non-smoking apartment.
Other than that, you're in a fantastic apartment in an amazing city so please enjoy yourself!
This place lives up to its description and photos. Perfect apartment, huge and spacious, modern, great internet, really nice home entertainment system and kitchen/dining room...makes it hard to step outside...but just as good as the inside, the location is amazing and you are right where you want to be. 9 streets district is walking distance to everywhere and filled with great shops, restaurants and wine stores.
Ben is the perfect host. This place is so much better than anything you could hope for in a hotel...choose it. I was thrilled, like everyone else before me.
Ben's apartment was a perfect place to stay for a few days vacation in Amsterdam. The location is located on a beautiful, quiet street alongside one of the city's canals. Also, it was central to everything we wanted to see during our stay. All in all, Ben was a wonderful host and I would recommend his space to any future travelers!
Ben's apartment was amazing :) the location was just perfect, facing the canal, cozy and very central located. This is the first time I use this app n the experience was absolutely wonderful. Ben is an excellent host :). I had the best salmon panini in Singel 404 :) Hope I can visit Amsterdam again soon.
Good apartment, great location, great host - Ben was a great host, providing lots of excellent tips for bars, food and the area.
The location was perfect right on the canal and easy walk to everything.
Ben is an excellent host, and the apartment is exactly as advertised.
As great as the apartment was, the neighborhood was even better, walking distance to many of the major attractions and yet situated on a street that's quiet and facing the canal.
The breakfast place close by (singel 404) was perfection as was the Italian restaurant that is right next door.
10/10 would stay at Bens place next time I visit the city.
Thanks Ben for providing us with a great spot in Amsterdam! We could not have been more central, right next to a beautiful canal and a stones throw from everything we needed. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this stylish pad! Made good use of the projector and really appreciated all the time you took to get us settled and answer all our questions. This apartment comes highly recommended to all. Just sorry I didn't make more of a dent in that bottle of wine you got us to welcome us in!
Ben is a great host...and the apartment is amazing!! The best (email hidden)ry confortable. Thank you very much!! We had a beatiful vacations in Amsterdam...of course we will try to visit you again.
Describe myself? Ok, well the first thing is I'm English, which means I'm culturally programmed to avoid talking about myself. Ok, I'll give it a go...
I came to Amsterdam nine years ago (wow time flies) and immediately fell in love with the city. If you've been here before you'll know why. The beautiful buildings, the canals, the bikes, the word "lekker", the easy-going atmosphere, the cafe-style living, the girls (Dutch girls are "lekker"), the dozen or more independent movie theatres, the summers...
... I guess in the end I just never left!
I work freelance, designing and building websites, and also run an English-language theatre company which I co-founded seven years ago. We perform three shows weekly and run workshops and classes in improvisation and theatre skills.
When I'm not working I'm playing sports. Yoga and kickboxing for fitness, tennis and volleyball for fun and the winter is all about skiing!
Ok! That's probably enough about me, lets talk about you...
