It truly was immaculate and a great place to stay for 4 people with lots of space. Everything we could have wanted to know was explained either in person or the big book. Derek and Sheila are very considerate hosts and we loved staying in their place.

My husband, daughter, and I had a great stay at Derek's! From the moment we booked our stay, Derek was in touch with all the details we needed. The information on public transportation was key - we used the app he mentioned often and the bus ride to downtown was easy and quick. Derek was there to greet us and had some pointers for visiting the area. We had planned to hike up Arthur's Seat, but he mentioned a trip up Calton Hill would be easier with the buggy. We went up Calton Hill and we're happy we did! A nice trip up and with what I expect to be similar views from that of Arthur's. As promised, Derek had a sleeping cot available for our daughter (who is almost a year). A nice surprise was also the high chair, toys (including bath toys), and books for her! Derek also had milk in the fridge, coffee/tea, and chocolate chip shortbread cookies (which I expect will now be a staple in our home!). Everything was clean and comfortable. The flat also has beautiful views of the city and great light coming in throughout. If we make a trip through Edinburgh again, we'll be sure to look for Derek's place first! Thank you so much!

If you are looking for a place to stay in Edinburgh, this is the place to stay. The host is great. He will help you with any problem you have and will tell you great places to go. The apartment is lovely, I would live there if I could.

Lovely, clean, well appointed flat. Pretty close to town center with bus stops right out the door and grocery store and restaurants very nearby. Derek was great, taking the time to explain which bus we needed and where everything was. He has useful maps and bus schedules and many guidebooks which were very helpful. All in all, a great stay (with the possible exception of the 3 flights of stairs!) and I would highly recommend.

Response from Derek:
Thank you for your kind comments Dinah - really appreciated. On the final point we recognise that some guests do find the stairs an unusual challenge hence when meeting up we always offer to carry their bags up to the 3rd floor where you are welcomed with an open view across Edinburgh (even a view of the castle, if you are willing to open the window and peer round to the east).
