Spiros was very kind and made us feel like home.
He was waiting for us at the agreed time, made us a greek tradicional coffe, served with a special sweet, while gave us several important tips from the city.
He also let his personal laptop withs us, and made ourselves comfortable to use whatever we needed (books, CDs, condiments, laundry soap, etc).
The apartment is big, very neat, near the metro and few minutes from Philopappus (email hidden) with a wonderful view from Athens.
We hope be back soon.
My friends and I had a great time in Athens and this apartment was great for the 4 of us. We had more than enough room and it was so nice to have a terrace to hang out and drink some wine in the afternoon. The location is incredibly convenient so you can just walk to cafes and bakeries for breakfast then make your way to the Acropolis. We had an excellent dinner at a restaurant which was maybe a 2 minute walk away. Sprios (email hidden). He picked us up from the bus stop at 2am since we got a late flight into Athens. He is very welcoming. I would be happy to stay here again if I return!!
Speros was a great and friendly host. The apartment was exactly as listed. The neighborhood was filled with cafés and coffeehouses. I enjoyed my stay very much and would highly recommend it.
Fantastic place, great location, awesome host. Spiros welcomed us with drinks, directions, and a greek snack! This was one of my favorite Airbnbs yet.
15 minutes walking to the Parthenon, bars, restaurants, etc. You won't regret staying here!
This apartment is really an excellent place to live in! Spiros is a very nice host. He picked us up at the bus station late at night and we had a good contact whenever we wanted. The house is quiet and clean, the elevator helps alot, if you have to carriage your baggage, and the surrounding is just marvelous. Don't miss the market every Friday (just around the corner). Take a walk over the Philopappou to Akropolis, Plaka, Syntagma, visit the nice place of Merkouri (5 minutes walk) with nice taverns and mezedopolia. Although we have travelled quite a bit to Athens, we never have met (email hidden) to stay. Thank you, Spiro!
We received a warm welcome from our generous and calm host. He took the time to help us organise our week in Athens in order to maximise it and he showed us everything we needed to know about the apartment. He had prepared customized maps of his neighbourhood indicating the best places to eat, the coolest spots to take a drink and other useful infos (supermarket, etc.) We tried many restaurants he recommended us and had a great experience everywhere. Food was savoury, delicious and diversified. Better eat in that non-touristic area than in the centre (which serves more cliché food). We felt safe and met nice people which made our week very enjoyable.
One of the advantage of this location is that you don't have to use the subway that much since you can walk through or around Filopapos hill to go easily in the central areas like Monastiraki, Thissio and Acropolis (in around 20 minutes). Filopapos is an oasis of calm pedestrian roads : you'll see joggers, the famous Socrate's prison, ruins and Filopapos monument. Going up, you get an amazing 360 view of the city.
We enjoyed the terrasse where we took our breakfast in the morning and apero at the end of the afternoon. Spiros apartment is equipped with everything you need.
Spiros is a first class host and his apartment is perfect to appreciate (email hidden)ank you
We had a very enjoyable stay. The location is just a couple of minutes walk from the metro stop, and two block from the base of the Acropolis hills. The apartment is immaculately clean, and Spiros (email hidden). He provided excellent directions and recommendations, and we enjoyed strolling around the Petrolona neighborhood almost as much as hiking to the sights.
We stayed at Spiros' great place for 3 days and enjoyed every second! It is wonderfully situated in a calm side street in the middle of the city. 5 min from the metro station and just a short walk onto the hills of the Akropolis!
Spiros greeted us very warmly, shared a coffee and explained in detail everything there was to know about his appartment and the neighborhood. He also provided us with guidebooks, tips of other visitors and a map of the city!
This is what airbnb is all about!
This place is a hidden gem of Athens. I even struggeling..should I tell you
about it? First impuls that, I would like to keep this secret it for myself
and enjoy selfishly. Seriosly, this appartment is perfect if you ready to
live in non-touristy area, wake up in silence and share the table with
locals in traditional tavern around the corner. We really enjoy walking up
and down the Philopappou hill, it's speciall and high energetic place.
Apartment itself is designed with love to detailes, truly comfortable and
even more nice looking than pictures. I like the building, it's clean, good
looking and charming, but be carefull stairs are quite steep! You shoul
either use an elevator or keep to the wider side.
Spiros is absolutely wonderful person, gallant, helpful and open-minded. He
made his best to exceed my expectations. I will definitely come back again.
We had a wonderful time. The apartment was great and well located and most of all very quiet. Spiros (email hidden). We are just like all the others who stayed at the apartment, very satisified..............
