Double room in the heart of London's East End

Let me get to know you a little before we agree to share my home - Airbnb is built on relationships & so when you get in touch, help me get to know you.
Let me know who you are, what the purpose of your visit is etc.

If we seem to be a 'good match' - I book you in & this is what happens next.

We will agree your check-in. Due to my work commitment, we may need to be flexible :)

Info on how to get here is in The Neighborhood section of this listing.

Here's a general overview:
You'll find my apartment situated in the heart of London's East End, within a minute of the nearest bus stop, overlooking the beautiful Regent's canal, Docklands and the Olympic stadium on one side & the City on the other side.
The apartment in a newly built block of flats, has two bedrooms, one bathroom, one kitchen-lounge and a large private balcony.
I'm listing my spare room (the smaller room / ideal for one guest) but it is also possible that at time when I am on holidays, I may be able to offer the whole apartment.
This location offers all you need for a short stay in London, and a little extra.

-Entrance: Communal entrance on the ground floor level and lift to the fifth floor.
-Bedroom: The room is ideal for one guest (I may consider a booking for 2 people, however an additional charge for the second person applies).
This is a double bedroom with a beautiful view of the City. It's fitted with a double bed (UK size: 1.4 x 1.9m), one bedside table and a wardrobe, which provides plenty of space for you belongings.
There are spotlight in the ceiling and one additional bedside light.
There is a light blind over the window, allowing for the morning light to gently come in.
The room is carpeted. Please note: I do ask my guests to not use outdoor shoes on the carpeted areas of the flat (carpet cleaning cost, if needed, will be deducted from your deposit)

-Bathroom: The bathroom is positioned between the two bedrooms & is shared. It is spacious and modern. I can provide towels and I am happy to share my toiletries with you – such as shampoo, conditioner and shower gel (I know what it's like when you're travelling with hand luggage only) & I will make space for your toiletries on a shelf.
-Kitchen Area: I am happy to share my kitchen and dinning area with you. The kitchen is modern and spacious and equipped with all the necessities – such as toaster, kettle, oven and hob, extractor & cutlery and crockery.
Last but not least, there is a wonderful spacious balcony with a view of Victoria Park, the Olympic stadium (30mins walk) and Docklands (40mins walk / short bus ride). When the weather permits, I love to spend time outside, on the balcony – either on my yoga mat or just enjoying a cup of coffee and a good book.
I do not have a TV in the apartment .

If you have a quick look at a map of London you'll appreciate how central Bethnal Green is. The local area is safe and walking around is a must to truly appreciate it.
We have a good and interesting selection of local shops; and we're not far from any of the major supermarkets & Westfields shopping centre, Stratford in only 3minutes on the tube.
There are a couple of cash machines (ATMs) within a few minute's walk as well as Post Office and bank.
The nearest launderette (should you need it) is less then 5 minutes walk away.

The East End is well known for it's ‘fish and chips' and a great choice of Asian cuisine.
Whether you want the East End experience of a jellied eel, traditional full English breakfast, Sunday roast - or whether you prefer a Pho, Thai green curry or a jalfrezi, you won't need to go too far to find somewhere to satisfy your taste buds (often at a very reasonable price).
And if you feel less adventurous, there's always a lot in a way of traditional European cuisine for you to enjoy.
For little refreshments, there are plenty of local cafes and pubs.

Ideally located for many of the major sights & I am happy to help you plan your itinerary to make sure that you get the most out of your time in London.
Both Bethnal Green and Mile End station are on the Central line, which connects you with Central London in 10-15minutes.
If this is your first visit to London, I am happy to help you plan the ‘must-see' tour of London - including the City, Tower Bridge, Southwark, Borough Market, the Globe Theatre, Tate Modern, St Paul's Cathedral, Southbank riverside (Royal Festival Hall, National Theatre etc), London Eye, Big Ben and Westminster, St James Park, Downing Street, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, Green Park and Hyde Park, Oxford Street, Soho, Piccadilly, Leicester Square and Covent Garden…
If you have been to London before and are looking for something new, I can assist with planning you exploration of the popular and trendy East End on London – Brick Lane and Spitalfields, Columbia Street Flower Market, Broadway Market, London Fields and Hackney, Stratford – the heart of the Olympics, the modern and buzzing Docklands, Greenwich with its magnificent sights, the Thames Barriers and many more.

Situated in Zone 2, with many tube, train, bus and bike alternatives – it couldn't be easier to get around.
The apartment is located in Zone 2.
- London Underground (Tube)
Bethnal Green and Mile End stations are both approximately 10minutes walk, or 2-3 stops on a bus.
- London Overground and DLR
A number of improvements have been made to the transport system in the East London and you can now enjoy the benefits of new Overground lines and more frequent DLR trains that connect you to this part of London.
- Buses
The apartment is well placed for buses to central London and other destinations.
- Barclays Bikes (also known as Boris Bikes)
There is a docking station 40m from our front door & many more just a few streets away.
- Airports
Travel to and from the airports is relatively simple and am happy to provide you with more information on how to find us. The nearest airport is the City Airport, however it's just as easy to arrive from Heathrow, Stansted or Gatwick.
From St Pancras (London terminus), which again is only a few stops away on the Underground.

Staying with me can be an interesting alternative to an impersonal hotel room. Direct and easy tube and bus links to the City, Canary Wharf or the West End make the commute hassle free.
Alternatively, you can reach the Dockland and the City on foot in just over 30 minutes.

There are many amazing green spaces and canal routes to provide you with plenty of walking, cycling or running options.
There is a free outdoor gym. The Mile End climbing wall in no more than 5 minutes way and within a mile, there are 2 swimming pools (Mike End and York Hall) & a little further way is the London Fields lido.
There are yoga and pilates options near by and there are a few Bikram studios within less than 30mins travel time (Dockalnds, Old Street, London Bridge, Soho).

If you require any further information, then please do not hesitate to contact me & I'll be happy to help.

No Smoking and no Pets.
No outdoor shoes around the house please.
No other visitors / friends (only the person who's booked in)

I am a dual Czech British national & I've been living in London for all of my adult life. I first came to London ‘for a week and see how it goes' many years ago. I fell in love with this amazing city & I never wanted to leave again.
I work as a manager of community based supported living project/s, and as an in-house coach for employees of the organisation. I have a small private practice as a life coach, and at the moment I also manage a counselling (email hidden) Surgery. I am passionate about helping others get off the sofa and start working on their dreams becoming reality.
I love being outdoors and, believe it or not, the East End of London provides me with ample opportunities to spend time in green spaces, walking or running along the canals and the river Thames.
I am a keen runner & I'm always happy to share my running routes.
I love to travel (South East Asia has won a big chunk of my heart), take pictures (my photos of the East End are on show in a couple of local cafes), hang out with friends, go for walks, drink coffee, read books, sing and dance (if you're lucky, you might catch one of my gigs while staying here), laugh… I appreciate the little simple things in life.
I maintain a regular yoga practice and I love spending time at the London Buddhist centre, attending meditation classes or just hanging out with like minded people.

The Neighborhood

Once you've book you'll be able to see my full address & you'll be able to find your way here using (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps and (URL HIDDEN)

Here's just a couple of bullet points:

Nearest airport is LCY, London City Airport which is super-easy to reach via DLA.
STN, Stansted Airport is also fairly local but you need to hop on a train (to Liverpool St station) or a coach to get here. I recommend taking a coach to Mile End (it's cheaper and just as quick)
Next one is LHR, Heathrow which you can easily reach via the underground (it takes a bit of time but is fairly easy and comfortable).
Gatwick and Luton are two airport I try not to use as they are not very easy to reach from here, plus you need to take a train and it ads to the cost of your travel...

Nearest tube stations are Mile End and Bethnal Green (both about 10mins walk)

Once you get here - PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT THE PHOTOS PROVIDED as a number of guests found it difficult to locate the entrance - and so I took a photo from the main road, showing you which door is 'home' :)
It will make your life much easier if you have a look before you come here.

If by any chance you arrive whilst I'm at work and we need to arrange a late check in & if you want to drop off your luggage during the day, please use one of the main train stations - unfortunately, there's no storage available locally.
