Double room in the heart of London’s East End

Let me get to know you a little before we agree to share my home - Airbnb is built on relationships & so when you get in touch, help me get to know you.
Let me know who you are, what the purpose of your visit is etc.

If we seem to be a 'good match' - I book you in & this is what happens next.

We will agree your check-in. Due to my work commitment, we may need to be flexible :)

Info on how to get here is in The Neighborhood section of this listing.

Here's a general overview:
You’ll find my apartment situated in the heart of London’s East End, within a minute of the nearest bus stop, overlooking the beautiful Regent’s canal, Docklands and the Olympic stadium on one side & the City on the other side.
The apartment in a newly built block of flats, has two bedrooms, one bathroom, one kitchen-lounge and a large private balcony.
I’m listing my spare room (the smaller room / ideal for one guest) but it is also possible that at time when I am on holidays, I may be able to offer the whole apartment.
This location offers all you need for a short stay in London, and a little extra.

-Entrance: Communal entrance on the ground floor level and lift to the fifth floor.
-Bedroom: The room is ideal for one guest (I may consider a booking for 2 people, however an additional charge for the second person applies).
This is a double bedroom with a beautiful view of the City. It’s fitted with a double bed (UK size: 1.4 x 1.9m), one bedside table and a wardrobe, which provides plenty of space for you belongings.
There are spotlight in the ceiling and one additional bedside light.
There is a light blind over the window, allowing for the morning light to gently come in.
The room is carpeted. Please note: I do ask my guests to not use outdoor shoes on the carpeted areas of the flat (carpet cleaning cost, if needed, will be deducted from your deposit)

-Bathroom: The bathroom is positioned between the two bedrooms & is shared. It is spacious and modern. I can provide towels and I am happy to share my toiletries with you – such as shampoo, conditioner and shower gel (I know what it’s like when you’re travelling with hand luggage only) & I will make space for your toiletries on a shelf.
-Kitchen Area: I am happy to share my kitchen and dinning area with you. The kitchen is modern and spacious and equipped with all the necessities – such as toaster, kettle, oven and hob, extractor & cutlery and crockery.
Last but not least, there is a wonderful spacious balcony with a view of Victoria Park, the Olympic stadium (30mins walk) and Docklands (40mins walk / short bus ride). When the weather permits, I love to spend time outside, on the balcony – either on my yoga mat or just enjoying a cup of coffee and a good book.
I do not have a TV in the apartment .

If you have a quick look at a map of London you’ll appreciate how central Bethnal Green is. The local area is safe and walking around is a must to truly appreciate it.
We have a good and interesting selection of local shops; and we’re not far from any of the major supermarkets & Westfields shopping centre, Stratford in only 3minutes on the tube.
There are a couple of cash machines (ATMs) within a few minute’s walk as well as Post Office and bank.
The nearest launderette (should you need it) is less then 5 minutes walk away.

The East End is well known for it’s ‘fish and chips’ and a great choice of Asian cuisine.
Whether you want the East End experience of a jellied eel, traditional full English breakfast, Sunday roast - or whether you prefer a Pho, Thai green curry or a jalfrezi, you won’t need to go too far to find somewhere to satisfy your taste buds (often at a very reasonable price).
And if you feel less adventurous, there’s always a lot in a way of traditional European cuisine for you to enjoy.
For little refreshments, there are plenty of local cafes and pubs.

Ideally located for many of the major sights & I am happy to help you plan your itinerary to make sure that you get the most out of your time in London.
Both Bethnal Green and Mile End station are on the Central line, which connects you with Central London in 10-15minutes.
If this is your first visit to London, I am happy to help you plan the ‘must-see’ tour of London - including the City, Tower Bridge, Southwark, Borough Market, the Globe Theatre, Tate Modern, St Paul’s Cathedral, Southbank riverside (Royal Festival Hall, National Theatre etc), London Eye, Big Ben and Westminster, St James Park, Downing Street, Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace, Green Park and Hyde Park, Oxford Street, Soho, Piccadilly, Leicester Square and Covent Garden…
If you have been to London before and are looking for something new, I can assist with planning you exploration of the popular and trendy East End on London – Brick Lane and Spitalfields, Columbia Street Flower Market, Broadway Market, London Fields and Hackney, Stratford – the heart of the Olympics, the modern and buzzing Docklands, Greenwich with its magnificent sights, the Thames Barriers and many more.

Situated in Zone 2, with many tube, train, bus and bike alternatives – it couldn’t be easier to get around.
The apartment is located in Zone 2.
- London Underground (Tube)
Bethnal Green and Mile End stations are both approximately 10minutes walk, or 2-3 stops on a bus.
- London Overground and DLR
A number of improvements have been made to the transport system in the East London and you can now enjoy the benefits of new Overground lines and more frequent DLR trains that connect you to this part of London.
- Buses
The apartment is well placed for buses to central London and other destinations.
- Barclays Bikes (also known as Boris Bikes)
There is a docking station 40m from our front door & many more just a few streets away.
- Airports
Travel to and from the airports is relatively simple and am happy to provide you with more information on how to find us. The nearest airport is the City Airport, however it’s just as easy to arrive from Heathrow, Stansted or Gatwick.
From St Pancras (London terminus), which again is only a few stops away on the Underground.

Staying with me can be an interesting alternative to an impersonal hotel room. Direct and easy tube and bus links to the City, Canary Wharf or the West End make the commute hassle free.
Alternatively, you can reach the Dockland and the City on foot in just over 30 minutes.

There are many amazing green spaces and canal routes to provide you with plenty of walking, cycling or running options.
There is a free outdoor gym. The Mile End climbing wall in no more than 5 minutes way and within a mile, there are 2 swimming pools (Mike End and York Hall) & a little further way is the London Fields lido.
There are yoga and pilates options near by and there are a few Bikram studios within less than 30mins travel time (Dockalnds, Old Street, London Bridge, Soho).

If you require any further information, then please do not hesitate to contact me & I’ll be happy to help.

No outdoor shoes around the house please.

I am a dual Czech British national & I’ve been living in London for all of my adult life. I first came to London ‘for a week and see how it goes’ many years ago. I fell in love with this amazing city & I never wanted to leave again.
I work as a manager of community based supported living project/s, and as an in-house coach for employees of the organisation. I have a small private practice as a life coach, and at the moment I also manage a counselling (email hidden) Surgery. I am passionate about helping others get off the sofa and start working on their dreams becoming reality.
I love being outdoors and, believe it or not, the East End of London provides me with ample opportunities to spend time in green spaces, walking or running along the canals and the river Thames.
I am a keen runner & I’m always happy to share my running routes.
I love to travel (South East Asia has won a big chunk of my heart), take pictures (my photos of the East End are on show in a couple of local cafes), hang out with friends, go for walks, drink coffee, read books, sing and dance (if you're lucky, you might catch one of my gigs while staying here), laugh… I appreciate the little simple things in life.
I maintain a regular yoga practice and I love spending time at the London Buddhist centre, attending meditation classes or just hanging out with like minded people.

As my first time booking an Airbnb, it couldn't have been any better. Radka was the perfect host and her place very lovely as well as perfectly located. Would recommend it 100%. Thank you Radka for the great stay, the very much useful suggestions about the local area and the easiness of communication. I really hope to see you again soon one day! All the best, Davide.

Radkas Place is a little palace, clean and with an amazing view. Located close to Victoria park it is perfect for sport fans who love to go for a run in the morning and enjoy the nature. At the same time the city is just about 20 minute with the tube either from Bethnal Green or Mile End. I loved walking home after work and yoga, catching a last glance on the city from the 5th floor of the appartment, have a little chat with Radka and then chill in my cozy, comfortable and clean room. Radka is the best host i could imagine and i had an amazing time living for almost a month with her. She became a real friend and i felt at home every day i stayed with Radka. Her place would be my perfect place too if i would move to London - definitely. City, Nature, friendship and an incredible energy - love it!!! Would ever come back!

Where to begin! I ended up staying almost 3 weeks with Radka in her beautiful little apartment in Bethnal Green. It was my first Airbnb experience and definitely a fantastic one. To begin with, the flat is situated in the best spot with a bus stop (#8 bus goes all the way to the city) & Boris bikes out the front and Bethnal Green tube station only a 10 minute walk away (Central Line). There are heaps of shops and places to get food and there is a great multicultural feel to the community. Victoria park is only 10 minutes away, perfect for cycling or a picnic. There is a lift to get up to level 5 where the spacious flat is situated. This offers stunning views from both the front and back balcony. It is comprised of 2 bedrooms, large bathroom and great kitchen/lounge area. Radka provides a cupboard with full hanging space and a bedside table so you can really make it feel like home. Radka is one of the nicest people I have met so far in London. She is eager to offer you suggestions for great places to eat, drink and enjoy yourself. She will respect your personal space but will also make herself available for a chat if you are feeling a little homesick. Radka has made my stay very memorable and have been very accommodating with my last minute bookings! Thank you for a wonderful stay Radka, highly recommended to any Airbnb user and anyone who is looking for affordable accommodation in a beautiful spot in East London.

I had an amazing stay with Radka! I stayed for about 12 days (while searching for accommodation because I'm studying here), and from day 1, Radka has been a wonderful host. I can't ask for a more considerate and caring host. And the views from the room is absolutely breathtaking. She keeps the place super clean and cozy, I felt very comfortable staying at her place! Will definitely book her room again!!!!!! Thank you Radka!!! :D

I truly enjoyed my stay with Radka - she's a great host! The room was indeed as lovely and clean as pictured and she was really great about my (very) late arrival and even took the time (in the middle of the night) to show me a map of London and answer all of my questions re neighborhoods (I was in town to find an apartment). She really went out of her way to make me feel comfortable! She was very generous with her sharing of coffee and breakfast as well, which I truly appreciated. She also has a yoga mat for visitors which I thought was great! The view of the canal of truly is as stunning as pictures and having the park nearby was an added bonus. Just make sure to confirm which room you are renting. I saw the bed in the first picture and thought it was the one that was being rented out, but it is the second one. She does include this in the description, but you have to click on the picture first to read the fine print - lol. :-) The internet only worked on the last day that I was there, which was a bit frustrating, but Radka tried everything in her power to fix the problem as quickly as possible, including allowing me to use her cell phone for the internet, which however also meant that she had to walk in on me Monday morning to retrieve it. I still very much appreciate her efforts and always keeping me updated about her efforts to rectify the issue. Radka stayed in contact with me throughout my trip (even though we had opposite schedules) and also shared great neighborhood advice and ideas for exploring, which was wonderful. I would highly recommend this place to anyone interested in staying in and exploring the East of London (with bus or tube (Bethnal Green).

This is a great apartment at a fair price. Radka is super nice, very responsive, and she's a keen attention to detail. The place is super clean and she provides you with what you'd expect: linens, towel, storage, tips for the area, etc. It's easy to get to town as well, just a quick ride on the bus or a 10-15 minute walk to the Central Line. The park access (Victoria Park) is a huge bonus. My only negative feedback is that the title of her listing combined with the photo order imply that the room you're getting is the room with sliding door access to the balcony. When you book AirBnb rooms quickly as I do, you don't have time to read the picture captions or the property description to figure out that room is actually hers and the room you'll be getting is indeed smaller, also with a view, but certainly not to the level of the photos she supplies of her room. I want to clarify that at least when I booked the room assignment is clearly described, I'm just saying that on the surface her ad was misleading, at least to me.

This is my first time to try airbnb. It turned out an amazing experience because of Radka. She welcomed me like a family. Like the picture, Her home was spotless. The view was amazing. Home is centrally located and close to tourist attractions. She gave invaluable advices to plan the trip like route planning, how to hire a bicycle, and reminded me of water proof cloth, etc. she is also very easy to work with. My plan depart in the evening. we worked out the check out time fit my schedule. Because of her, my london trip was more fun, and more memorable. strongly recommend to friends.

I am a dual Czech British national & I’ve been living in London for all of my adult life. I first came to London ‘for a week and see how it goes’ many years ago. I fell in love with this amazing city & I never wanted to leave again.

I work as a manager in the social care sector, and as a coach for colleagues form across the group (sometimes I see clients privately, too). I am passionate about helping others get off the sofa and start working on their dreams becoming reality.

I love being outdoors and, believe it or not, the East End of London provides me with ample opportunities to spend time in green spaces, walking or running along the canals and the river Thames.

I am a keen runner and a big fan of London's famous Boris bikes. I maintain a regular yoga practice (and now my guest can join in, too - there's a spare yoga mat in 'your' room - something a few of my guests asked for, so I got 'you' one)

I love to travel (South East Asia has won a big chunk of my heart). I'm an enthusiastic amateur photographer (you can see some of my photos in local cafes), I collect street art (via photography / collection of 500+), I sing in the local choir & I also enjoy a bit of quiet time every now and then (e.g. on the meditation cushion at the London Buddhist Centre).

I appreciate the little simple things in life - like an afternoon with friends either enjoying a walk through one of London's many beautiful green spaces, of just hanging out over a cup of coffee.

Time Out:
Please note that this (ie being an airbnb host) is a simple 'one-woman home-run enterprise' on top of my day job etc - and from time to time, I take a bit of time out...
Where possible, I will arrange for a friend to host in my absence (in which case, of course, I will discuss this possibility with you first). However, if you don't hear from me and/or your inquiry goes unanswered (it happens very rarely that I go on a retreat, but from time to time, I do), please don't take any offence (sadly, *that* has happened) - I'm not being 'rude' - I'm just away, with my phone off for a few days, re-charging my batteries... :)
