Very nice place on a good location. You can easily walk to beach (cocoon beach club). Your not right next to the busy street so its nice and quiet a the pool.
Tri is very nice house cleaner ant the contact with Touk was very nice as well. She gave us some nice tips and was a welcoming host!
Touk was a wonderful host and we had a great time! It was lovely staying a little bit away from the mayhem of Seminyak but still within walking distance of the main district. The accommodation was clean and Lin our housekeeper was fantastic. I would definitely stay with Touk again! Thank you for a wonderful holiday!
My mother and I stayed almost a week at Touk's place. We both left feeling as though we had made a great choice in our accommodation. Touk made sure to say hello the first day we were there. She consistently and immediately addressed any issue that came up, and she very patiently put up with all my questions throughout the week.
The place was by no means a resort hotel, but it was clean, comfortable and pleasantly isolated from the bustle of the nearby main road.
I would definitely stay here again.
Le logement était tel que sur les photos, très bien situé près d'une rue commerçante et à 5 min du Bintang. Nous en avons bien profité, ainsi que de la piscine !
We had an incredible stay at Villa Bodat! Touk was an amazing host...always happy to take care of us ...she ensured that we had a great experience in Bali and made arrangements for a wonderful day exploring the beauty of this paradise!
Sari & Sarah took wonderful care of the villa...exemplifying the true kindness of the Balinese people.
We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely stay at Villa Bodat again or another property that Touk handles.
Thank you so much Touk...it was truly a pleasure to meet you!!!
WARNING. NOT ALL IT'S CRACKED UP TO BE!
The best thing about this villa is Mia , the housekeeper. She is a treasure.. the rest is a bit of a nightmare.
Although this villa is central being just off the busy main rd in Legian it is badly in need of some TLC. After 3 nights we let Touk know that we wanted to exit the villa and find somewhere else to stay and asked for our money back. The toilet has been leaking for 3 days, the wi fii worked for only 1 day, bulbs kept blowing, the bathroom door was sticky and locked its occupants in, if closed, the bath and kitchen fittings needed a good de-caulking ,all the tiles need a good lemon and vinegar scrub and the deck was coming up and I'd already got hooked on an old nail! Touk replied these were all "developing third world country problems" and " no we could-not have a refund". Admittedly she got round to getting most of the stuff fixed although the wi fii was still not working when we left despite there being no problems with the neighbours . Go figure!
This is obviously not anyone's home, but rather a rental villa for hire and it shows. Unlike all the other Air BNB's we have stayed in it lacks care, concern and a cosiness. I believe when you rely on guest feedback then being slack about service (esp for something as basic as an hygenic toilet) and blaming the 3rd world is not good enough. There are plenty of comparable villas around the same price point that are far and away better than this.
We cannot recommend this villa or host.
Joanna and her family arrived late at night so I went around to see them the following day. Joanna was out, though I met her husband. He told me about the leak from the toilet, but said all else was great. I told the staff about the leak and it was fixed the next day (the caulking was redone). A couple days later Joanna messaged me complaining about the storm on the night they arrived causing light bulbs to blow, the internet being intermittent, the toilet leaking and the lack of "basics- tea , coffee, sugar, oil etc." She said they were moving out the next day and told me how much they should be refunded.
I went to the house to speak with Joanna, but no one was home. The housekeeper was there so I went in to check the toilet, there was no leak. All the bulbs had been replaced. The internet was working, everything was clean and in order.
The words Joanna has quoted are not my words. My words were: "Even without storms, we often have issues with power and or water. This island is not on par with more developed places, even in tourist areas." and "We have a strict cancellation policy and I don't believe these issues warrant a move and a refund. If you are still adamant about moving, you can request a refund through Airbnb. Submit your case to them and they will determine if you should receive a refund."
This home is not advertised as my home. And as I told Joanna, "Although, this is a rental property it has been made as homey as possible. And these are issues you could certainly have in someone's home, more so than in a hotel I think. The kitchen is equipped with anything you would need to cook, but no we do not provide food or condiments." (*Actually we can provide breakfast or groceries for your arrival if you agree to reimburse).
Everything I've put in quotations are copy/pasted from messages between Joanna and me, unlike the words that she quoted.
I feel that Joanna has exaggerated how badly in need of TLC this property is and that she may have found another place she wished to stay at after arriving here. How else then could she say: "There are plenty of comparable villas around the same price point that are far and away better than this."
Out of 88 reviews, nearly 20 are for this property, and I think all are really positive.
We really enjoyed our stay at Villa Bodat. It was perfectly located but still quiet. The pool is great and there is enough couch space to chill out. Touk was very quick to respond to all our questions and the housekeeper did a great job. Good value for money!
