About this listing
Enjoy a private bedroom in our home in the heart of Santa Fe. Spend a few days in our beautiful Land of Enchantment!
Come stay in our family home in the heart of Santa Fe. Our home is in walking distance to such great community hotspots as the Santa Fe Railyard, home of the Santa Fe Farmers Market, the new Violet Crown luxury cinema; numerous galleries; the Railyard Park (in summer we have outdoor movies and concerts); Second Street Brewery, our local pub; and great shopping & dining, as well as entertaining community events.
Walk, bike or drive to the historic Santa Fe Plaza, or the world-famous Canyon Road.
Healthy natural groceries are close by at our local Coop, or visit Whole Foods & Trader Joe's, Sprouts (and Albertsons), just minutes away.
Dine at our neighborhood cafe and bar, The Tune Up, go dancing downtown, ride your bike along the Santa Fe River a few blocks away; drive to the Santa Fe Ski Basin and be on the slopes in 40 minutes. The Santa Fe Opera is about a 15 minute drive too. Did I mention there's a great public pool, as well as tennis courts a few short blocks from our house too? Whew!
You'll be comfortable in our neat, mid-century Stamm house as well. Clean hardwood floors, a large kitchen, and a private, shaded back yard with patio. Our home smells good two, courtesy of my home-based business (website hidden). Our two cats will keep you company as well.
Sleeps two on a double bed.
This is our full time home, so it's best to plan on your bedroom as your main space, with access to the kitchen and bath, of course. You can relax in our enclosed back yard (which has gone a little wild). Your room and the bathroom will be clean and neat; the rest of the house will be lived-in neat!
I work from home, and so can't host someone who will be spending a lot of the day time here. We accommodate travelers who need a comfortable, centrally located place to bed down for the night and to fix breakfast or prepare light food. If you're looking for a place to spend a lot of down-time, this is not the best one!
Interaction with Guests
I'm happy to offer tips, advice and directions if available; and I'll certainly be able to advise you ahead of time by email. Having a local contact makes a big difference and I'll help if I can.
This is a very friendly neighborhood; very walkable, quiet and safe (although we are near a busy street).
We are steps away from the local bus and about a 15 minute walk from the Railrunner (which can get you to and from the airport). Walkable, bikable and certainly drivable to the Railyard, and the Santa Fe Plaza (a bit farther. . . ). You can easily rent bikes in town for your stay, too.
Other Things to Note
My teenage son's bedroom will be next to yours with some sharing of the hallway bathroom. He is polite, intelligent and interesting!
We respect your privacy, and ask the same of us--my best experiences staying in AirBNB homes is having a sense of privacy and being able to fully relax and feel at home, while having just enough access to my host to get a little guidance and feel like I have someone I know in a strange new town. I aim to give you that same experience.
Cats are strictly indoors, with access to the back screened-in porch. Please don't let them get out!
No smoking or recreational drugs please; only light drinking.
Please clean up after yourselves. No need to strip the bed when you leave; but do gather your towels all in one place.
