You'll love this super sunny apartment in the heart of Hayes Valley. Main room has beautiful bay windows overlooking Hayes Street. The bedroom is off a quiet alley, with a small window and quiet neighbors. The main room has a small kitchen and pull out couch to sleep extra guests. There is coin operated laundry in the basement.
The apartment is on the top floor of perfectly-located building. The ground floor has a macaroon shop and right out the back door is the very famous, very tasty Blue Bottle Coffee Kiosk. You are within a block of some of the best restaurants and shopping in San Francisco: Absinthe, Boulange de Hayes, Stacks, Flipper's, Smitten Ice Cream, Biergarten. You'll love all the cute boutiques and coffee shops that line Hayes and Octavia.
Quick walk to both BART and Muni and the 21 bus stop is right outside. Hayes Valley is smack in the middle of the city, so you can easily walk to Lower Haight, Castro, and the Mission and take public transit to Union Square, Pac Heights, etc.
Myself and two pals were so lucky to find this gem of an apartment to stay at for four nights during our recent visit to SF, and were so sad to leave. We would definitely stay here again! I love this city so much.. when can I come back?
We all absolutely loved the apartment. It was totally our aesthetic, clean (though a bit dusty- this is expected though given that it is an old building), and felt just like home. The location in Hayes Valley is very central and convenient, with nightlife and brunch spots within mere blocks. So many great nearby bars. You could also easily walk to the Mission, Lower Haight, and even the downtown areas without a problem, but of course SF has many options for transportation (we preferred fare splitting with Uber, but we are biased since one of us works for them in Seattle).
Our whole experience at this apartment began with a friendly note from Lee Anne, along with a gift of two bottles of wine to welcome us on our weekend getaway. Lee Anne emailed me a list of some places to check out in the neighborhood, which was great for when we were debating where to get a bite before yet another night on the town. She also said we could help ourselves to anything in her fridge and cupboards, which was totally not necessary, but a very nice gesture and further made us feel welcome.
Contrary to what another reviewer wrote, we found the size of the apartment to be perfect for three people. Two of us shared the queen size bed in the bedroom, while the other used the couch (it pulls out into a twin bed). Yes, there is only one bathroom, but if you know anything about SF apartments and costs, we were so thankful to have an entire one-bedroom with all its necessities to ourselves! Also, who wants to stay in an apartment all day and night when such a charming city awaits?
-Wifi is included
-A really great coffee shop (with vegan chocolate) is located on the street right behind the apartment (important for us Seattleites)
-Lee Anne got back to me immediately when I texted her
-The top-floor apartment has a great view of Hayes street... people watching!
I can't stress it enough-- this apartment is wonderful, and based on the contents of the apartment, Lee Anne is too! Stay here if you are able to... I promise you will love it just as much as we did.
Great location! Really cute space. Quiet area. A bit snug for 3 people but, we were only there for a few days. So, it all worked out. .. The only thing that bothered us was that it didn't seem like the place was thoroughly cleaned before we got there. But, maybe there was just a miscommunication with the cleaning crew?
We had an excellent stay! The apartment was clean, well located, and comfortable. The living room was warm and cozy with a lot of natural light during the day. The neighborhood was fantastic, with tons of great stuff to see and is very close to other areas of interest.
Lee gave us great recommendations for locations near by and we would definitely stay here again.
The location of Lee's apartment is great! Tons of restaurants and bars within a two block radius and definitely close to transportation. The size of the apartment was perfect for my wife and I. The apartment does tend to get a bit dusty but overall fairly clean. We had to pleasure of meeting Lee and she suggested some great places for food and drinks. There is also a place around the corner where you can rent bikes (highly recommended) and the central location of the apartment in the city made our exploration of San Francisco extremely easy and pleasant. We definitely recommend Lee's apartment!
Lee was a great hostess, and this adorable apartment was extremely well situated in the city. As someone new to San Francisco, it was great to stay at a clean space that had plenty of room and easy to get to and from. Hayes Valley was a wonderful little neighborhood with fantastic restaurants and eclectic shops. (The apartment was situated in the heart of Hayes.) Lee left extremely detailed instructions and information such that I had no worries and an extremely comfortable stay. She was also very reliable and easy to get in touch with.
We had a lovely stay and Lee could not have been more welcoming. She even went out of her way to let us check in early :) Awesome location too.
