  • Susan's studio inn is even more beautiful and comfortable than in the listing photos! I also came to find out she designed it herself- every need a traveler would have is anticipated from the layout to the little goodies she provides (stocked cabinets of spices, teas and cooking utensils, if one should need).
My favorite part of staying there was the private patio right behind the studio. Its wonderfully landscaped with a little table/chairs, which created a nice environment for me to relax and get a bit of work done.
Susan was a pleasure as a host- very gracious and just a plain fun person to speak with. She was very helpful with all my questions about Albuquerque, as I was new to the area and needed a few suggestions on where to look for apartments prior to my move.
The neighborhood is probably one of the best places to stay in- right between a lot of good cafes/ restaurants downtown and oldtown (awesome historic homes in that area!)
I've recommended her place to friends/family to stay when they visit

  • This studio inn is a little slice of heaven in ABQ! Beautiful accommodations, great location, lovely outdoor spaces, and dog friendly! There is even an office space for you to do some work. Susan and Dick are awesome hosts and they have attended to all of the details, including an outdoor fountain and landscaping. If you stay here you will never consider a hotel again.

    Response from Susan:

Thanks for the "heads up" about feeling grit on the bathroom floor. I both vacuum and mop the entire place but I should probalby walk through barefoot not and then. That would tell the real srtory if there is one to tell.

  • We had such a wonderful stay at Susan's! The casita is spacious, clean, and well appointed. The location is perfect. Susan is a great, available and knowledgeable about the area, while still provided privacy and space. We will definitely be staying here on our next visit.

  • The place is even better in person. There is a lovely fountain outside what is perfect any time of the day...tranquility! Susan and her husband are low-key and warm/welcoming, not to mention interesting!

  • Susan and her husband, Dick could not have been better hosts! Although our visit was short, we had some very enjoyable conversations and they were always very responsive. They went above and beyond to help us out with our border collie puppy when our hike turned out longer than expected. We came back to the house to find her romping around with Susan's pets - so sweet!

Additionally, the casita and location are fabulous! We were very impressed!

  • Everything about our stay at La Casita Rosada was perfect. The location was ideal, being so close to Old Town, downtown (where you can catch the Railrunner Express to Santa Fe) and the airport. The apartment itself is totally self-contained, beautifully appointed and immaculate. The lovely patio with the water fountain provided a Zen-like quality, and was perfect for relaxing with an evening cocktail. (email hidden) just a couple of blocks away, we split our meals between cooking for ourselves and eating out. A previous guest recommended Vinaigrette for terrific salads...he was spot-on. And, for a fabulous breakfast, try Slate Street Cafe.

Our hosts, Susan and Dick, were awesome. From Susan's lightening-quick responses to our initial inquiries, to Dick's warm welcome when we arrived, to our departure a week later, they were informative, helpful and totally engaging. They we're considerate of our privacy but available if we had a question or sought recommendations for places to visit. What a truly delightful couple!

There's no question we'll return to La Casita Rosada if we're ever in Albuquerque again. And, if family or friends are looking for a recommendation, we know where to steer them.

Thank you so much, Susan and Dick, for your wonderful hospitality.

    Response from Susan:

Thank you Rita and Erik. We are humbled when it seems that our guests actually make note of everything we have tried so hard to present.

We do hope to see you two again.

La Casita Rosada Inn Keeper and advocate for more urbanization in the beautiful and historic core of Albuquerque. That means I am an advocate of access for safe walking a bicycling to places in which we can tour, and do our tasks of daily living in a cohesive community of friends and visitors.
