  • So wonderful host and bed room!
I don't know how to thank Alex and Satoko. Last week, I was in SF for traveling alone. The best host Alex and Satoko gave me many tips for SF sightseeing and transportation and the best breakfast.
It was the first time to stay by Airbnb as I can't find the proper hotel in downtown due to America's cup and Oracle conference. But I can assure that staying Alex's home is very good decision during my trip.
The house is very cozy, clean and nice view and very quiet neighborhood. You should go to Twin Peak where is the best view in SF ever! I can't forget the scene. And, of course Alex and Satoko are an inborn host!
Just reserve the room right now! You won't be disappointed to stay here!! :D

  • Alex and his family are fantastic hosts. His home is absolutely spotless. I stayed in a large downstairs room with a private bathroom. The room was located on the back of the house and was super quiet. The room had a big window with a lovely view of the lush backyard. The bed was very comfortable and it had satin sheets (a big plus for me). The bathroom had heated floor. Breakfasts were very nice as well. Another great thing about the house is its location with plenty of free parking. I visited San Francisco to see the America’s Cup races, but the highlight of my trip turned out to be spending time with my hosts. I’d highly recommend staying in their place.

  • I had lovely stay with Alex's family. They are the best hosts you can dream of. They make you feel like you are part of the family.
Amazing experience for those in need of peace, quiet and place to stay on one of the hill of SF.
The room and bathroom are big, clean, quiet and offer you a lot of privacy.
Satoko's breakfast are a delight and will make your day.
I am highly recommending you to stay with them.

  • My first stay with an Airbnb host, so I was a little self-conscious at first. Although I was out & about, I had the chance to chat briefly with Satoko and Alex, and they're very nice. Residence is a 10 minute + walk from a couple of bus lines and Forest Hill metro (for movie buffs, used in the ransom delivery sequence from 'Dirty Harry'). Room is downstairs, behind garage; quiet and private. Bed very comfy. No tv or fridge in room, but hosts welcome guests to use kitchen and living room. Recommended, especially for those with a car.

    Response from Alex:

    Two clarifications regarding Paul's review:
    1. The #36 bus stops a block from our house and generally runs every 20-30 minutes.
    2. About the location of the Private Suite Paul stayed in: Yes, it is behind the garage but there is a storage room and a hallway between the guest room and garage. The guest room does not share a wall with the garage.

  • I had a fabulous stay with Alex and his family. The room was large, lovely with a very comfortable bed, new bathroom with heated floors and a view of their garden. The Twin Peaks location was quiet and convenient to both Bart and a bus line. The hosts provided hot breakfasts and wonderful home baked goods. It is a good thing I walked the hills in San Francisco. They even fed my son pancakes one morning when he picked me up. When I left, they carried my bags and drove me to the nearby BART station. I couldn't have met nicer people for my first Airbnb experience. I will definitely stay with them again when I return to San Francisco!

  • Alex's place was fantastic and he and his family were an absolute delight to stay with. They are enthusiastic travelers and seasoned hosts, and their accommodation was a truly delightful welcome into town.

Their place is nestled right in the hills in the middle of San Francisco, hidden away in a gem of a location most travelers or even city-goers may not get to see. Parking was plentiful, and the location was easy to get to. The room itself was immaculately acquainted and tastefully decorated, and the amenities were superb. I would not hesitate to stay with them again, and I would encourage any fellow quiet traveler or new-in-towner to come and experience their hospitality first hand.

  • The family is very welcoming! I had great conversations with them and the room is just awesome: very spacey, a comfortable bed, adjoining bathroom with a shower, all spotless clean. The area it is located is very safe and there's a lot of street parking. I really enjoyed the stay there and would totally recommend it!

  • I had booked the room at the last minute and Alex and his wife treated me like a true guest. They made me feel very comfortable in their home. The bedroom was private and quiet with nice attached bath. They had the breakfast and coffee ready for me every morning. Parking in front of their house and taking public transit into the city was very convenient for me. I strongly recommend this place.

  • It has been a pleasure! A very friendly, open minded family. You can have conversations in English, German or Japanese! The place is in a quiet area and certainly not for people who plan to party. I would come back in a heart beat!

  • Alex and his wife were super friendly and made me feel very welcome. Was there for just one night, but slept like a baby. Double++ for my first airbnb stay!
