The space
The West Coast of Sardinia ? Have you ever heard of it ? The single most overlooked jewel of the Mediterranean. Can you imagine seeing yourself strolling along sunkissed white quartz beaches in the late afternoon ?
And then returning to your house, and enjoying the sunset with a glass of wine... Dreams really can come true: this house is the perfect getaway for anybody in search of peace or a requiem from the masses, and we’re only a couple of hours from the main airports of the island.
Specialities here include the best olive oil you’ve ever tasted, superb wines, cheeses to die for, and the most tasteful meats you have ever experienced. Not forgetting the stunning locally produced vegetables, fish, and of course the Sardinian equivalent of caviar, “bottarga”.
Less than five minutes casual stroll takes you to the square, with its café, bank, post office, vegetable store and newspaper stand.
In this Sardinian village on the West Coast, dominated by a cathedral of historical importance, you will enjoy the beauty of the countryside, 15 mn drive from the stunning beaches with crystal clear water, perfect for scuba or snorkelling.

If you are a very large group (up to 20 persons), you can rent both houses (there are two communicating houses), at a higher but still very reasonable price, making it up to 8 bedrooms, 5 full shower rooms, 2 extra showers, internet access, and wonderful terraces with a fantastic view to the sea.
During the day, you can either enjoy the beautiful beaches of the area, reachable in 20 to 40 mn drive, visit the archeological sites of the ancient Nuraghe, take pictures of the "murales" of Tinnura or Orgosolo, or shop for straw baskets in Flussio..
In the evening, if you don't want to have dinner at home, you can go to the restaurants of the coast, from the Alta Marea in S'Archittu to the amazing fish cooperative in Cabras, not forgetting the trendy slow food places of Santu Lussurgiu, or our traditional Desogos restaurant in Cuglieri, just round the corner.
If you want a quiet evening, you can look for a book in the library (4 languages there, French, Italian, English and Russian).
If you don't want to drive everyday, there are buses transiting from Cuglieri to the main places of interest, from Bosa to Alghero, Cabras, Oristano or Olbia ! Or just to the beaches of Santa Caterina and S'Archittu, where you can spend the day.

The owner, who lives nearby, has traveled the world ans speaks English, French, Russian, Italian and a little Spanish!

This place is unique in Europe, because you have the access to the most beautiful part of the Mediterranean sea in an area which has not been reached yet by the touristic masses, with affordable prices and a wonderful peace.

Longtime Journalist, I have lived in France, Italy, Tunisia, Russia, and New York. I speak French, Italian, English, and Russian fluently, and I can understand Spanish. Wherever I lived, though, I always had with me: my kids until they left the nest to fly with their own wings, my books, my music, my films, my paintings, my dreams..
I have now moved to Sardinia, where I bought a house on the west coast, largely unknown to tourists, and an olive grove, where I produce extra-virgin olive oil, orange and fig jams and home made limoncello.
