The Space

Riad Essaada offers you quietness and serenity at the heart of the medina in an ambiance of elegance and warmth. Enjoy the sunny terrace, take a splash at the pool, relax at the outside sitting room and get cosy in our inside lounge.

Riad Essaada is ideal for those looking for a peaceful resting place close to the most important monuments and attractions of Marrakech at affordable prices with the plus of feeling like you are at your own place.

We dispose of five rooms with private bathroom and air conditioning. Breakfast is included in the price and is served each morning at the place you desire. Coffee and tea are free throughout your entire stay.

We can arrange your transfer from the airport to the riad and vice-versa (price depends on the number of people). At you arrival, you will be greeted with traditional Moroccan hospitality, Moroccan tea and pastries. At your room, complimentary bottled water and fresh flowers await you.

Thanks to the traditional Moroccan architecture, the riad is a small oasis of freshness and tranquility minutes away from the colorful and loud chaos of the souks. While in the riad, enjoy yourself in the bhou (outside sitting room), the patio, take a splash at the 3x2m pool, get cozy in the inside lounge, feel the breeze or get your tan at the terrace.

The neighborhood has a wide offer of dining options (Cafe Arabe, Cafe Bougainvillean, Terrase des Epices) but if you wish our cook can prepare any traditional homemade meal you desire.

We are also available to organize day excursions to nearby places like the Ourika valley, Ouzoud Waterfalls or Essaouira and longer excursions to the desert like Zagora or Merzouga.

Riad Essaada is very well located at the heart of the medina in the Mouassine neighborhood at 8 minutes walk from the famous Jema El Fna square. The neighborhood is very well equiped with all sorts of crafts shops and groceries shops, coffees and restaurants (Cafe Arabe, Terrase des Épices). It is also close to other main attractions like the Madrasa Ben Youssef and Koutoubia Mosque. The city center can be reached in 15min by car from the airport and the bus station is 15min away by foot.

This listing is for the 1001 Nights room only (double room with ensuite bathroom and air conditioning).

  • Me and my boyfriend had a wonderful stay in Riad Essouroa (not sure of spelling!) hosted by Jawad. He arranged a pick up from the airport which went very smoothly, and was definitely worth doing, as the riad is tucked away and would've been tricky to find otherwise. The place is well decorated and looks exactly like the pictures. It is very peaceful and quiet despite being just 5 minutes walk away from the souks. The breakfast was very nice, and the housekeeper made the effort to provide us with different moroccan breads, pastries and pancakes everyday. Overall it was a brilliant experience and I feel like I've had a real taste of Marrakech.

  • Marrakech is an incredible city as well as the people who live and work there.. the Medina is a busy and interesting place where all sorts of things are going on ! Staying at Jaouad 's riad has been a great experience that not easily we'll forget.. great breakfast , quiet and relaxing environment close to main square , private tours .. a typical and ideal stay if you stop by this awesome city!

  • Comfortable and clean place. It's in a quite and peaceful place but you may find it a bit dark at nights, but it's totally safe. Jawad was always helpful and communicative with us. Nice place to stay in Marrakech

  • We spent 5 days at Jaouad's Riad in Marrakech. Jaoud was a superb host - he arranged for us to be met at the Medina gate when we arrived, gave us good advice and directions, and even arranged for laundry when there was a problem with the washing machine.. He is a very friendly, laid back and cool customer - nothing ruffles his feathers. His English is very good.
The Riad is very quiet while still close to the main square - getting there and back through the narrow Medina streets takes a little bit of learning - Jaoud will supply you with a map until you get the hang of it. Our room while compact, was comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were good and the Wifi worked well albeit the signal is only really reliable in the courtyard.

  • The Riad itself was a beautiful place and we spent there a really good time. It was a perfect place to hide from the burning Marrakech sun and noise and crowd from the medina streets. Our host Jawad - was very helpful and introduced us to the specific rules which should be obeyed when you sightseeing the Marrakech :)

  • We loved our stay at this riad. We were a little nervous of Marrakech, being our first time to morocco, but Jawad was an amazing host and showed us very many things about the culture and the area. This made our experience really positive and enjoyable. The riad is tucked away in the souks of the medina which makes it easy and fun to shop, eat and truly experience Marrakech. However it was very clean and very quiet for being in this area. Our room was nice and the bed may have been one of the most comfortable on our whole trip. It was very comfortable to lounge in any one of the sitting areas as well as using the kitchen if we needed to. Although breakfast is served anytime you would like and eating out is so affordable it is unlikely you will need the kitchen for anything other then keeping beverages of choice cooled. Connecting to wifi was a slight difficulty on my IPhone but using a computer was an option. And we also felt that any request we could have wanted would be courteously granted. We would recommend a stay at this raid to anyone. Thank you for everything Jawad!
