The Space

Apartment is on the 3rd floor with a spectacular view of the Acropolis.

It is a one bedroom apartment, with a fully equipped kitchen, lounge room and bathroom. A double bed is available in the bedroom and a sofa bed that can sleep another two guests at the same time. Perfect for a couple, a group of friends or a family. The building also has an elevator.

Thus, it sleeps 4 adults comfortably. The balcony has a great view to the Acropolis, you can have your afternoon coffee or your breakfast there. It is a 3 minute walk from the Athens shopping district and the Plaka - Monastiraki area. It is a 5 minute walk to both Monastiraki Metro station and Thission Train Station.

The area is well know for sightseeing and its night life. There you can have your lunch or dinner in the traditional taverns and have your ouzo with good company and atmosphere.

Also this area is known for its night life, just a 3 minute walk away. Perfect for whoever is looking to enjoy the city of Athens.

The apartment is also, only a 10 minute walk from The Parthenon (ACROPOLIS), should you feel like a visit :)

I (email hidden) from Australia - living in Greece, and would like to help make your stay in Athens more pleasant, also, you should feel free to ask if you have any questions.

  • This was a great apartment and we enjoyed it very much. The location is perfect and it was easy to explore Athens from there. Communication with the host was excellent and we recommend her without hesitation.

  • Great location, great view, accommodating host but unable to get any sleep. We arrived around midnight and Des's mom was very accommodating to meet us so late. Like much of Athens, the graffiti outside makes it look like a bad neighborhood but we had nothing but very positive experiences with the people in the neighborhood. The view of the Acropolis from the bed and couch are amazing. The bed is a little tight for those that are not a couple, but the couch and extra fold out bed is an option. The location is great and very convenient to the train and tons of shops and restaurants. Unfortunately our experience was not the best overall. The air conditioning did not cool the place and we were very uncomfortable. We tried sleeping with the windows open and after knowing Athens, realize people never sleep and there are people talking, yelling, playing music and motorists non stop and never subsided. We barely slept for three days. It's impossible to sleep with the windows open, but without the AC it was too hot to not do so. We were there on a weekend so maybe it's more noisy then? They let me know they appreciated knowing the AC was not working and would get it fixed after the weekend. So hopefully it will be better for the next guests!

  • We had a great time at Des' apartment. We were meet by her mum who was lovely and gave us a nice overview of the apartment.

The location was great. We walked everywhere from the apartment with no trouble. The street leading to the apartment looks quite grungy and has a heap of graffiti which concerned us a little at first... But the area felt safe at all times of day and night so it wasn't a problem.

The apartment building was quite old and looked run down but the inside was pleasant and the apartment itself was fine. The air-conditioning in the bedroom was wonderful as it was very hot and humid during our stay. The living room air-conditioning wasn't quite as effective in cooling down the larger room but it was still enough to stay comfortable.

The views from the bedroom out to the Acropolis was a very pleasant thing to wake up to.... And the view from the apartment building roof is even better, especially at sunset and after dark.

Thanks very much Des and her mum (email hidden) to stay in this ancient city.

  • LOVED this area. Tons of restaurants, and beautiful places to walk with lots of artisans selling their goods. A bit gritty, but in an interesting (not too sketchy) way.

The apartment was pretty nice, and the view of the acropolis did not disappoint! Des was very sweet and accommodating.

  • Good communication with Des, she was able to answer many of my questions and steer me in yhe right direction.
He brother opened the flat for us and was accommodating as our flight was delayed by about an hour. Bread, jams and cold water were refreshing after a walk in the heat.
The area of Psyrri (where the apt is) is a great spot withe asy access to two metro stations and a short walk from the ancient (email hidden) to go if you want to get more of a flavor of the city. It's a little farther outside where the tourists congregate (Plaka) and less expensive to eat with (in my opinion) better views.
The apartment is small but probably average for Athens and the location. It is comfortable though and the rooftop provides an excellent view of the Acropolis at night. We had it to ourselves both nights we spent up there. Grab a beverage and food from a local supermarket to save some cash and have a relaxing evening.

Note: the area does have significant graffiti (as does most of Athens, made me uneasy at first until i realized that). Definitely not close to what I had heard from Omonia and I did not feel unsafe in Psyrri.

  • Excelent (probably the best) location in Athens with a beatiful Acropoli's view.
Flat has, in a modest way, every thing you need.
Des' Mother was very nice and accurate during check-in.
Good flat's guide with little notes on the door, washing machine, etc.
    We would rent it again!

  • Overall this apartment is a great value in a central location. Des and her
mom are very nice and friendly, and Des is very easy to communicate with.
The apartment has a terrific view of the Acropolis from both the living
room and bedroom. One thing we wish had been made clear in the listing so
that we weren't disappointed upon arrival, is that the patio where we
planned to have breakfast is NOT attached to the apartment. You have to
leave the apt and go to the roof, which was too inconvenient to have
breakfast up there. The apt is still a great value and we would have still
rented the place, we just wish this had been made clear in the listing.
PROS: Very central location for sightseeing and close to some great
neighborhoods with less touristy food: Gazi and a few spots in Psiri (try
Athiri, Varoulko, Butcher Shop, Taverna Tou Psiri and the pastry cafe
directly across from them on Aischylou St off Platia Iroon). So central you
can actually stop the apartment during the day between sightseeing/ dinner
etc. Great view from the apartment. Nice little balcony if you don't use
the patio. Normal double bed if you're a couple. Great spot if you want to
go out at night. Elevator for your luggage. Easy to get to from the
airport/ train station. CONS: The building is run down. It looks abandoned
from the outside, with the outside lamp and some buzzers torn out. No light
on outside at night. Noisy/ dirty location. The building basically faces
Ermou st. This section of Ermou, has it's charm, junk dealers all up and
down the street, but it's a very dirty area. If you go in towards Psiri it
quickly becomes more charming. At night Thurs - Saturday (when we were
there) even with the windows closed and shudders drawn, we heard thumping
music late into the night. There was nothing to make coffee with in the
kitchen, not even a Bialletti - so we had to cold brew coffee ( I bet Des
can resolve this if you ask). Overall it (email hidden) to stay,
    especially for the price.

  • It was a great apartment! Des was always in contact to make sure we had the information we needed. She provided great instructions to get to the apartment, and she had a lot of suggestions for places to visit in the area.

The apartment was in a fun neighborhood, and the view was fantastic. The rooftop access was a hidden perk that gave (email hidden) to eat dinner and have a few drinks while watching the sunset.

  • We stayed 3 nights in the apartment and everything was perfect. The place really has the Acropolis views as described, it's a brilliant location, very short walk to many sights such as Ancient Agora, Monastiraki market, Plaka and even Acropolis.
Dez's mom showed us the apartment and was very friendly.

    Highly recommended.
