Apartment is on the 3rd floor with a spectacular view of the Acropolis.
It is a one bedroom apartment, with a fully equipped kitchen, lounge room and bathroom. A double bed is available in the bedroom and a sofa bed that can sleep another two guests at the same time. Perfect for a couple, a group of friends or a family. The building also has an elevator.
Thus, it sleeps 4 adults comfortably. The balcony has a great view to the Acropolis, you can have your afternoon coffee or your breakfast there. It is a 3 minute walk from the Athens shopping district and the Plaka - Monastiraki area. It is a 5 minute walk to both Monastiraki Metro station and Thission Train Station.
The area is well know for sightseeing and its night life. There you can have your lunch or dinner in the traditional taverns and have your ouzo with good company and atmosphere.
Also this area is known for its night life, just a 3 minute walk away. Perfect for whoever is looking to enjoy the city of Athens.
The apartment is also, only a 10 minute walk from The Parthenon (ACROPOLIS), should you feel like a visit :)
I am a friendly host from Australia - living in Greece, and would like to help make your stay in Athens more pleasant, also, you should feel free to ask if you have any questions.
We enjoyed every minute staying in the apartment. Des was very kind, offering to wait for us at the train station. Des' mom waited at the apartment to show us around and provided useful info about the neighborhood. Hospitable host, convenient and central location, 1 metro line from Athens airport. Thank you Des and Georgina.
We had a great stay at Des' apartment. We took the mass transit from the airport and the metro station was only a few blocks from the apartment. The view is incredible - we used the lit up Acropolis as a night light! The kitchen was well equipped and we had plenty of towels in the bathroom. We loved the location - close to great shopping, the Central Market, and the sights.
Des' apartment was very central to the bustle of Athens: flea market was around the corner, as well as side streets filled with relaxing cafes. Our group of three slept comfortably and enjoyed being able to see the Acropolis from the balcony, living and bedroom area. Thanks for hosting!
Despite the unattractiveness of the surrounding area, the apartment is in a good position for exploring Athens and it's attractions. You can walk to all the important places as well as great shops and restaurants.
Des's mum welcomed us and was very helpful in providing us with lots of local information.
Tha apartment is quite dated but provided us with everything we needed for a great visit. Loved the night time view of tha Acropolis.
We had a great time staying at Des’s apartment in Athens. It is obvious from the photos that the view is magnificent and we appreciated it every day and night.
The neighborhood is perfect as a central point from which to visit everything we wanted to see. Walking to the Acropolis was great, but we also appreciated that one of the stops for the Red Bus Tour was right across the street from our front door. This made it easy to get to all the sights and we even took this bus to the port and went swimming in the Sea.
We loved all the restaurants and cafes close by, the music and the shops. We had a great time!
Vue magnifique sur l'Acropole. Petit balcon agréable. Appartement fonctionnel situé à la limite du marché aux puces et des restaurants de Monastriaki. Restaurant ''Take-out'' en face.
While the apartment is humble, it was comfortable for our short stay in Athens - clean, good amenities, hot water and wifi. The hospitality and greeting by Georgina and Stacey was warm and welcoming although we arrived late at night; they offered tips and provided a simple breakfast which was very kind. The apartment is in a fantastic location; central and close to Plaka and the Athens Market. The view is overwhelming!! We would not hesitate in recommending to couples travelling to Athens. Thank you Des, Georgina and Stacey for welcoming us into your apartment.
Very well-located, basic apartment near the Acropolis. It is quite small so best for just a couple. Fine if you are spending your days out exploring Athens though. The hot water tank is a bit small so you have to be quick in the shower if there's more than two guests. Also, make sure you have insect repellant as Athens seems to have a lot of mosquitoes.
I booked Des's apartment for 5 nights for 4 adults, a 3yr old and a baby. There was just enough space for all of us. Georgina met us on our arrival and was very welcoming, showed us around the apartment and gave some tips on getting around. There was a loaf of bread, butter, jam, juice, tea, coffee, sugar etc for us to use, It was much appreciated!
View of the Acropolis from the apartment is amazing!! We went to the rooftop a couple of times and it was also great!
Everything worked in the apartment, we didn't get to use the A/C as it went down to 13 C at night on our second day, we used the extra blankets provided. The wifi stopped working one time but it worked perfectly after we turned off the modem and turned it on again.
We loved the location of the apartment, close to the Acropolis, restaurants around Thissio, shops in Ermou st, and flea market on Sundays
My partner and I arrived by metro from the airport, if you come out to Athina st, turn right and when you get to the traffic lights turn right again to Ermou st. Apartment is opposite Mummy's kitchen (we didn't find it that good), and O&B hotel is very close by on the same st (our friends were dropped there by the taxi driver). The metro station entrance at the Monastiraki sq was better than Athina st entrance.
Thank you Des and Georgina for letting us stay in your apartment!
Des and her mother Georgina were very hospitable and helpful, and their apartment provided a perfect base for exploring Athens for the first time, with a view of the Acropolis from the balcony and close to the square, antique shops and restaurants of Ermou Street. We had a lovely stay here.
