Own back entrance through the building's cosy pocket park with a barbecue - in a nice quiet side street with one of Copenhagen's coolest new playgrounds.
Interaction with guests
In the studio it is possible to have your own privacy as much as you like but I'm just a doorstep or a sms away if you need a Copenhagen-advice, my help or a cup of coffee.
'Lovely', 'Fantastic' and 'Excellent' my guests calls my neighborhood and I can only agree. It's great:
The street has undergone a major transformation during the last couple of years. Here you can see some of the finest examples of Danish urban development at its best: Refurbished and thoughtfully planned public area, challenging playgrounds and bold new Danish architecture ads to the original charming 'village'-atmosphere. Futhermore we now have a brand new very good quality restaurant and cafés - and the area is constantly evolving. The new additions combined with the old quality buildings from the beginning of last century make this neighborhood something very unique!
Located in a side street to the district's main shopping street, Nørrebrogade, with lots of ethnic shops and takeaways that can be enjoyed in the park, Assistantskirkegården; The district's green oasis where locals relax, exercice, sunbathe, play or have a picnic. It's actually an old cemetery: The famous Danish fairytale writer H C Andersen and the well-known Danish philosopher Søren Kierkegaard are both buried here together with a lot of other artists and intellectuals. History, culture, new funerals and modern urban park-life goes hand in hand in this very popular green space - one of it's kind and a must-see.
The neighbourhood offers two Michelin restaurants within 10 minutes walking distance of The Studio, lots of interesting ethnic places to eat, great cafes, all sorts of delicious takeaways and charming groceries shops where you can buy inexpensive food treasures from all over the world. We even have our own prizewinning brewery! Nørrebro is 'The Spice and Food City' of Copenhagen.
The many cozy small streets draw people from near and far to the area because of the good atmosphere. Within 5 minutes walking distance you will find Skt. Hans Torv, Elmegade and Blågårdsgade - buzzing with outdoor cafees, trendy shops and a cozy nightlife with bars and live music. 5 minutes’ walk in the other direction you will reach Jægersborggade offering delicious little restaurants, organic shops and local designers and craftsman shops.
But Guldbergsgade just around the corner actually have it all: Clothing, design and jewelry shops, yoga, tattoos, fancy drinks, health juices, rich homemade cakes, organic facials, a funny theatre-hairdresser, a gourmet butcher, an authentic Italian pizzeria, a soup bar with dj, a Michelin restaurant, a high quality cinema theatre with international non-dubbed movies and one of the city's best venues with nightclub.
On weekends you will often find flea markets in the area where you can do a good deal. If you are up early, there may be some fabulous bargains to pick up just around the corner at the Nørrebro Flea Market by Assistens Kirkegård every Saturday 8am-3pm from May to mid-October.
With bus 5C or express-bus 350S you will reach Nørreport or the Central Station in the city centre within minutes. From here you can easilly get to all destinations in the Copenhagen area with bus, train and metro, for example you will reach Kongens Nytorv (Nyhavn) within 2 min., Amager Strand (the beach) within 10 min. and Copenhagen Airport within 15 minutes using the metro from Nørreport. Busses and metro runs all night (nightbus 81N or 96N).
Also Copenhagen is one of the world’s leading bicycle city's. You will get around faster in the city by bicycle than by car or bus so why not give it a try? There are many great places to rent a bike close to The Studio.
In the streets around the apartment you will also find many places to park your car (blue public paying zone). Easy acces by car from Jagtvej near Nørrebro Runddel.
Other things to note
