The house is a federation style semi-detached cottage in North Hobart that has been thoughtfully renovated. It has a large comfortable living area and a modern kitchen with all mod cons, plus 2 bedrooms. The larger bedroom has a double futon style bed and the other has a fold down couch bed. There is a separate laundry and a bathroom with shower.
Facing the sunny north east is a private deck with outdoor setting and a small garden courtyard. Cozy gas central heating makes it a great house for all seasons.

It’s a secure and private inner city location that is ideally situated for exploring Hobart.
Guests have access to the whole house which includes front and back decks
Interaction with Guests
When guests are in the house I'm usually away for work or fun, so interaction is mostly via email. I value easy communication with guests and enjoy the rapport that often develops. Questions big and small are all welcome.
A five minute walk gets you to a whole string of restaurants and coffee shops. In fact, for good coffee, there are even closer places. Try to fit in a visit to the State Cinema, another five minute walk up the road. It's much more than just a movie theatre, and taking a glass of wine in to enjoy with the film is only one of its attractions. For me, the walk up to the Domain and then down through the bush to the Botanic Gardens is a real treat and only takes thirty minutes each way.
A 5 minute walk away is the North Hobart strip with its cafes, restaurants, shops, pubs and iconic State Cinema. A 15 minute walk takes you into Hobart central and 30 minutes to the waterfront. It's also five minutes to a bus stop where buses leave every 10 minutes going to the city or out to the northern suburbs.
In the other direction, the house is only a 10 minutes walk to the Queen’s domain and 30 to the beautiful Botanic Gardens, Cornelian Bay with its renowned Boat House restaurant, or bushwalks on Mt Stuart.
We had a lovely, relaxing stay in Kate's home. It was a really comfortable place to unwind and in a great spot, being just a couple of minutes walk to the cafes and restaurants on Elizabeth Street where all of Kate's tips came in handy.
The extra touches like breakfast supplies and Kate's extra effort to help us get a visitor's parking permit were greatly appreciated.
Thanks Kate; will absolutely recommend!
Kate was a fantastic host! Her house is in such a great central location in Hobart - easy to get around on foot. We had a car and Kate kindly organised for us to have a parking permit for our stay. Her house is fully equipped and very relaxing - especially for any yogis as she had a great outdoor area to do yoga in the morning.
Great host, location and property. Enjoyed our trip to Hobart. Make sure to eat at Ristorante Da Angelo if visiting Hobart.
Prior to our stay Kate made contact and arranged a parking voucher for us. The home was clean and welcoming and breakfast and basic cooking supplies were available. Kate left a note saying we were welcome to use what we wanted to. We found the home met the advertised criteria. The location suited us well (groceries and fresh produce nearby as were pubs and an arts cinema). The notes left saying what was in the vicinity were very helpful. There is a lovely deck that captures the sun and pots that offer fresh herbs. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and have already recommended Kate's place to friends and family.
A simply wonderful home to have the use of while I was in Hobart for work with one day of leisure. Kate was wonderful to deal with, prompt response to my enquiry and then clear and useful information about staying at the house. As soon as I walked through the front gate I felt at home. Nice and private, very homely, warm and comfortable. Kate had thought of everything, even making sure the heating was on for my arrival - brilliant and much appreciated. Lovely deck at the back of the house with morning sunshine.
Great location with great range of places to eat out just a few minutes away in Elizabeth St and overall the house is nicely on the edge of the city itself without it being overly busy. Would certainly stay here again. A fantastic first experience with Air BnB and Kate's hospitality.
Really lovely accomodation, which was beautifully clean and had everything one could want. There was a lovely comfy bed - a home away from home. Handy to everything and an easy walk to Salamanca Markets. Kate was very helpful with all her info on attractions etc too. Will definitely recommend to others.
delightful, comfortable and welcoming place .Close to everything in North Hobart.Loved our visit!!
After working out of Australia for many years I moved to Hobart four years ago and bought my cottage in North Hobart. I love living in this neighbourhood - there's so much to do within an easy walking distance: coffee shops, restaurants and a great movie theatre in one direction and bush and Botanic Gardens in the other. A great combination and I like to make it easy for guests to enjoy as well.
