Large private room with twin bed for one person. High ceilings, decorative fireplace in a large old apartment that has not been renovated.. Shared bathroom down a long hallway. A small half bath is close to the room. Wireless internet.
Windows face the street which is one-way near the park so that there is not much traffic considering that we are in the heart of the city.
The location is on a hill that leads to Lafayette Park
Pacific Heights is a great neighborhood. Buses are one and two blocks away. Many people walk everywhere. The supermarket, Whole Foods, is three blocks away. The park is less than half a block's walk and bustling Fillmore St is a five-block stroll. Polk St. is three blocks away, so there is a huge variety of restaurants closeby. It's a great neighborhood to explore the architectural landmarks as well a central starting point for exploring the rest of the city.
The room has wireless internet. There are coin-operated laundry facilities in the building.
Jay was great and the room was lovely, would most definitly stay again if I were in SF!
Jay is lovely and she likes helping like giving useful information about the town. The place is in fair walking distance to the cable car, a few clubs and a WholeFoods market (which is very expensive)
Other people that I met in Jay's house were friendly and the place is rather quiet. The (shared) bath was not really prim when I came, but that depends on the people using it, I guess. However I would come back anytime!!
Hôte très Disponible et bienveillante. Merci Jay Mille fois
Jay was very welcoming and accommodating, especially since my flight arrived in late. The house is lovely and in a very safe, quiet area, with several supermarkets nearby and a kitchen which Jay is happy to let you use.
The house is relatively near most areas in San Fran, however with all the hills most major tourist attractions are at least a 40 minute walk. I was there for a week and got a MUNI transport 7 day pass, allowing me to have unlimited access to buses and trams and it was definitely worth it.
My room did not have a lock which was inconvenient, and it did not close properly at all as it was an old sliding door. The room next door was separated by another wooden sliding door so I could hear everything in the room next door.
Overall a nice experience and Jay is a lovely host.
Jay was a very kind host, very helpful and always very fast responding. The room just looks like on the picture, really sweet. The loacation is great and its easy to get around either per foot or per public transportation. I had a nice stay and would recommen it to fellow travelers.
This is my third time staying here -- each time I've been in a different room. Wonderful stay as always!
Jay is a super host! Not only that she accepted our third party reservation, extended our contractor's stay and acted as a reference to another landlord for him, which is just way above and beyond her obligations! I would definitely book through Jay again if we needed more accommodations for our company. Her place is at a great location to downtown SF with easy access public transit and extremely clean and tidy place! Thank you so much, Jay!
PRIME location - just down the street from a great park, all the amenities that you need in a two block radius... If you want to live in San Francisco like a local, this is for you!
The room is in a home that has a lot of character - you're staying in a piece of San Francisco history! So yes, you get the creaks, groans and other signs of the passage of time, but the place is (most importantly) clean and cozy. I loved the huge windows, the books, and the soft bed.
Minor considerations: 1.) Yes, the sliding door is a piece of work. You're going to need your shoulders for this one! 2.) There are only two sets of power outlets - ration your gadget charging accordingly! 3.) There's one half bath, and one full bathroom, so watch your long morning showers!
Jay was a lovely hostess and was very warm, accommodating, and understanding. Case in point: My flight into SFO was delayed for a day, and without even asking, Jay was the one who told me to get the refund process for the first night started by contacting AirBnB.
I cannot wait to return!
This was a fine place to stay. I basically explored the city each day, walking most everywhere I needed to go. She was very helpful suggesting that I take a shuttle service from the airport to her place. It was cheap and took me right to the doorstep. The bathroom was simple and always available when I needed it. The sliding door to the bedroom has no lock and is a bit difficult to open and close. I had no problems with anyone entering my room during the day. I basically used the place to sleep at night as I was off exploring the city most of the days. No complaints with the overall experience; it was easy and straightforward.
I stayed at Jay for little over a week. Jay is a wonderful host, that keeps thing clean, organized and has great stories and info about local spots and eats.
The room was immaculate with a very comfortable twin bed. The bathroom I shared was also in great condition as well. I loved the room its is serene ,cozy and feels from a different time.
Would recommend, actually no , encourage that if you are looking to stay in SF visit Jay's
