Just some common sense rules and a couple of things that I would appreciate: - Please keep the general level of noise down and open/close doors quietly. The neighbours are rather strict about noise so let’s avoid any complaints. No loud music, especially after 22 hr. - The apartment is to be used by you only, please NO unexpected guests at the house, overnights or parties - In case you are a light smoker you can do it out side. Pick up after yourself. - Please use the utilities (water, electricity) within reason. Remember to switch off the lights, fans & heating. The planet will appreciate it... and me too. - Check-out time is preferably before 10:00am. Later check-outs are also possible if there are no other guests arriving early that same day. Please keep phone connected and check emails regularly to facilitate the connection between host and guest. In the improbable case that you experience any problems during your stay do not hesitate and let me know about it as soon as possible so I have a chance to correct it. And also if you have any questions or anything.. just ask : ) Have a great stay!
We arrived and everything was set up for us. It was very easy to get settled in. The space is magical outside and beautiful inside with animals roaming in both. Bikes were provided so we were close to the places we wanted( groceries, bars, food). Finally, the host was lovely!
The place was precisely as advertised. Charming! It was bright, warm and well equipped for all our needs. This place is a cat lovers dream, with two very friendly, affectionate cats to cuddle and curl up on our beds at night. We spent very little time in the flat, with Frenchmen street and the quarter about a mile walk. So many amazing breakfast spots nearby (Ruby slipper, envie and rose nicola). I was sad hat I didn't get to cook with the fresh eggs that Tara had graciously left for us (there are chickens!) also sad that we weren't able to make use of the bikes as we didn't have helmets. Lovely stay, far too brief! Many thanks, Tom and Anna
Tara was an excellent and very accomodating host. The space was good and it was great to have a full kitchen! The bikes were a plus since the location is a bit further than where we normally stay. However, there are some fun spots to check out on St. Claude! We rode all over the city and saw so much more than if we were on foot or paying for transportation. Tara and Thor were helpful when there were bike issues! Thank You both. As a quaint bonus.. There were chickens in the lovely garden and the fresh eggs were a treat... As a cat lover ..it was great to have a few friendly felines around to snuggle! We would stay again for sure!
My son and I spent five days staying at Tara’s place. Everything was perfect. We love the feng shui of the interior space which has an artsy architectural feel to it. We love the cats, the bikes, and the kitchen. The studio art yard space between the two houses feels welcoming every time you “come home”. We biked to Frenchmen, the Quarter and the many great Fauborg/Bywater/Marginy area fun spots. Tara’s gardener took us fishing out on the Irish Bayou (John, we love you, brother; thanks!). Tara is an amazing, helpful host. One of my best AirBnB experiences.
A hint for first time New Orleans visitors . . . the whole Nola experience can be exhausting. We rented one of the several RelayRides cars to drive out to the Jean Lafitte National Historical Park and hiked around the bayou for four hours. It was sublime, and a new dimension to my New Orleans experience that I will include from now on.
Fantastic place a little bit on the wild side of town but all the more interesting for it. Easy walking or biking distance to everywhere you'll want to go. And best of all, a very spacious building that belongs in a magazine surrounded by artworks, cats and chickens. Tara was a charm and very helpful. A memorable stay.

Hello, I am a UK designer, transplanted to New Orleans. My website - (website hidden). I work from my home. The studio and workshop are adjacent to the house and are utilized everyday. Therefore people will be coming and going from the compound, but not the house!
We have chickens, a dog and several cats, if you don't like animals don't come and stay with us.
As I said I'm originally form the UK, now residing in New Orleans, I just adore the city, so will you. My neighborhood is low income, mixed racially and has a changing face, which will be representing a more positive New Orleans. We are the change, we are the power, we are the people.
