Christopher greeted me by standing out on the stoop of his lovely apartment as I arrived......after giving me perfect directions for taking the public transportation from LGA to Jersey City!
I was working in the city during my stay which was very easy to get to from the Path subway. I did enjoyed the Resturant Thirty Akers located down the block, seating outside on the patio while eating at the Grove during a couple of dinners and people watching was entertaining, I also enjoyed walking around looking at all of the brownstones, while the local residence seating on their stoops enjoying the summer evenings while their children playing hop scotch and putting their creative chalk art on the sidewalks. It's a very diverse neighborhood and I loved it!.....perfect!
Wonderful place to stay in the historic downtown area, central to everything: the Path train into NYC, eclectic restaurants & small shops, beautiful parks, a farmer's market & much more. Christopher is a gracious host who goes above & beyond, providing information, insights AND fabulous green juices for his guests. The light & airy guest room has its own entrance and is beautifully appointed with original art (HIS!) and a most interesting collection of books. I would highly recommend this gem of a place for your next stay!
The room is just beautiful, I would call it very elegant and private entrance is very convenient. Christopher was very nice and helpful! I booked it for my relatives - my brother in low and my nephew , their english is not so good, but Christopher helped them a lot, so they felt very good and comfortable.
We've stayed for 6 nights at Christophers appartment and had a really good time. We actually didn't spend a lot time in the appartment, because we were gone from around 8 in the morning till midnight. You have your private entrance, which makes it feel your own little appartment. The bed is only a mattress on the floor, but such a good bed, really comfortable. The appartmant was clean, the bathroom as well and nice decorated. The bagel shop on the corner was our first stop for breakfast every morning. With the Path train your quite easy in 15 minutes downton NY. We didn't talk to Christopher besides when we arrived. But we would really recommend this really affordable place to stay when you go to NY!
Great stay with Christopher. Was working so didn't spend much time at the apartment but it was a great base and the area is lovely. Easy transport into Manhattan & good places to eat locally too.
Chris was a great host! We had a chance of talking a lot about New York and Jersey. He gave me specific advice about what places to visit and where to shop. Everything he suggested was wonderful.
The place is conveniently located and you can get there any time, the trains run all day long everyday!
Couldn't have asked for more! The apartment was ideally situated in jersey city which is a hidden gem, the bagel store right below the apartment was our to-go-to breakfast place every morning.
The apartment itself is really cosy and well decorated. It looks better in real life than in the photos!
And most importantly, Chris was an excellent host. He accommodated our late check in and was really friendly during our stay.
Would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone!
Convenient location to Path trains into NYC. Neighbourhood was OK but a busy road so some noise from horns and sirens. Large room with morning sun full of an interesting and eclectic mix of books and art. Christopher was an amusing host, very quiet and discreet. Great coffee, cookies and green drinks! Exceptional local knowledge of food related places and non-tourist areas to visit. Great conversationalist.
Christopher is a nice host we had good (email hidden)e room is really comfortable, it was a pleasure to live in New-Jersey . The location is perfect and really close to new-york ( 20 minutes). Don't hesitate, reserve ( but the last Path to come back home is at 23hr ) :) !
Thanks Chris for your personality it was a real pleasure to meet you !
Chris was very welcoming and friendly. His place is full of character and in a good downtown Jersey City location about 10 minutes walk from the Grove Street Path.
