Riverland Terrace is the best neighborhood in Charleston. It was settled in the early 1900's and is an eclectic mix of modest and extravagant. it boasts some of the largest and oldest grand Oaks in the Chas. area. Lovely to bike or ride. I love how it is surrounded on 3 sides by water. And walking distance to restaurants and shops. ALL ONLY 5 to 10 MIN. TO DOWNTOWN CHAS. and 15 min to the beach. Friendly and safe. Bird Sanctuary in my back yard. Fishing and crabbing in my backyard as well.
Most people rent cars. I highly recommend it. It is not possible to walk to the historic district due to bridges. Cars are very cheap here if you surf the web for them. Or my guests drive in. Parking is pretty easy and abundant in Chas. Some areas are free, some metered, others have parking garages. There is a bus service but it only runs a couple times per day. Some people have ridden bikes to downtown. There are bridges to cross for that and narrow streets downtown. I will do airport pick up for $30 each way.

We had a great time in Charleston. The room was nice, the bed was comfortable. The neighbourhood was also really nice.
Crystals place was great! The porch was beautiful and the room was warm and welcoming. Crystal was an excellent host and very willing to help in any way. Would recommend this to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay in Charleston!
I loved the location of Crystal's place. It was very convenient for both the beach and downtown Charleston. The house was very clean, I was able to park off street and felt very safe. Crystal is a caring and involved host.
Crystal is an amazing host, very thoughtful and knowledgeable.
Her house is in a quaint neighbourhood, only a short drive to downtown Charleston and peaceful for a nice rest after a long day exploring the city. The room and bathroom are very clean and cute. The deck overlooking the pond is a lovely place to enjoy a nice breakfast or relax with a book in the evening. We loved the live music in local bars just a couple minutes' walk away.
Very very happy with our time here
Crystal was a delightful host, and made us feel very welcome. Her house and our room with private bathroom were spotless. She was very helpful with suggestions of things to do in Charleston.
The view of the pond from her deck was magical: this morning I saw a blue heron alight from the water ontospanish moss strewn live oak. Quiet neighborhood on James Island - five minutes drive from my batik artist mentor Mary Edna Fraser, with whom I worked for two days. Great trip!
Crystal was very accomadating and helpful during our two day stay! She was informative and gave us tips as we explored the city. The house was in a beautiful location and was very clean and inviting. I would definitely recommend Crystal's home to anyone looking to stay in Charleston!
Crystal was very welcoming...a real southern, gentle lady. House was very clean and as described. The neighborhood felt very safe. No problems at all. Thanks Crystal for a lovely stay.

About the Host, Crystal
I'm a Realtor with Brand Name Real Estate here in Charleston. Also a home renovator and grateful airbnb host. I love animals and being outdoors. I enjoy great conversations, and lots of laughter. Who doesn't? I love to be active, swimming in the ocean, going to dancersize, yoga, walks around the historic district of Charleston to admire the gardens and architecture of the old homes. Good food, a nice glass of wine, quiet time in the evenings are my idea of the perfect end to the day. I like all kinds of music, old movies, slice of life, triumph over adversity in my books and movies. No violence please. I've traveled throughout the Caribbean and Latin America and own a home in Costa Rica on the Pacific Coast. Recently went to Europe and am anxious to go back. Love to have visitors to show them our beautiful sights.
