Only 5 min from historic district of downtown Charleston for some of the best architecture, gardens, restaurants, bars, museums, etc. in the country. And 15min to Folly Beach. Quiet, lovely area. Comfy room/bath! Breakfast! Great deck w/ water view.

The Space

Waterfront, marshfront, salt marsh lake and view of Intercoastal Waterway from huge deck. Lovely old oaks on gorgeous property and 4 bedroom 3 bath home. Rent bed/bath or two. Just minutes to downtown Charleston and Folly beach. Desireable Riverland Terrace location. Walk to restaurants, theaters, music venues. Includes wireless internet, flat screen tv, cable. Breakfast foods available on a help yourself basis, including eggs, bread, juice, cereal, tea, (website hidden). out my reviews! Due to personal allergies, I ask that you not wear colognes, perfumes or use scented body wash, soaps while you are in the house during your stay. I provide body wash, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner that I'm not allergic to. And you are welcome to bring your own as long as not scented. No smoking on the property. there is an additional fee if you'd like to bring your small dog. Maps, brochures, coupons, magazines and newspapers describing activities and events in Charleston are in the room to help you get started on your visit. The room is very comfortable with a queen bed, nice quality linens, several pillows, desk, dresser, closet, ironing board, iron, blow dryer, towels. Bath is across the hall, but it is exclusive to the room. Come see us soon ya'll!

Guest Access

Enjoy a comfy, cozy, quiet room with its own bath. Enjoy living, dining, full kitchen usage. Awesome huge deck overlook a tidal marsh and the intercoastal waterway and many birds. Bikes to borrow anytime. Walk or ride two blocks to shops/restaurants/theater. Strong Wifi.

Interaction with Guests

I love to visit with the guests. I've written a little book to point you in many directions to follow your passions and get the best out of your visit to our fair city, beaches and neighborhoods. I do work and am out a few hours per day. I'm always available to take care of your needs and make sure your stay is a great experience. I'm 5th generations so know my town well. You'll love playing with Ollie, the Dachshund. I like to play games such as scrabble or join you for a movie if you are up for it. For a small fee, I provide tours of downtown in a casual way.

The Neighborhood

Riverland Terrace is the best neighborhood in Charleston. It was settled in the early 1900's and is an eclectic mix of modest and extravagant. it boasts some of the largest and oldest grand Oaks in the Chas. area. Lovely to bike or ride. I love how it is surrounded on 3 sides by water. And walking distance to restaurants and shops. ALL ONLY 5 MIN. TO DOWNTOWN CHAS. and 15 min to the beach. Friendly and safe. Bird Sanctuary in my back yard. Fishing and crabbing in my backyard as well.

Getting around

Most people rent cars. They are very cheap here if you surf the web for them. Or my guests drive in. Parking is pretty easy and abundant in Chas. Some areas are free, some metered, others have parking garages. There is a bus service but it only runs a couple times per day. Some people have ridden bikes to downtown. There are bridges to cross for that and narrow streets downtown.

Other Things to Note

I'm a real estate agent with Re/Max here. If you are considering relocating, I'd love to help you. I've been a Realtor for 34 years! There may be other guests in the house. Adds to the fun. Most guests are worn out and quiet in the evenings.

  • Crystal was very accommodating and an excellent host. I felt like we were staying at a friend's house with our own room and bathroom in a great location. Crystal's house is a great place to stay for a Charleston trip and if you are unsure what to do/where to go/what to eat/etc, no problem - Crystal knows a ton and will be more than happy to help you navigate your trip to Charleston.

  • We had very much fun staying with Crystal. Being a local for a long time, Crystal provided us very helpful recommendations of sightseeing, restaurants and even cool stories. She even provided wonderful breakfast and made our stay to feel like home. Anyway this is definitely the best Airbnb experience we've had through this trip. Definitely the first place to stay when in Charleston!!

  • We enjoyed our stay and found it to be a good value. We even got to borrow her bikes to go to a local restaurant around the corner!

  • We stayed here for 5 nights. The house is in a very cute and quiet neighborhood. The backyard deck and waterfront was a great way to start each day, along with free breakfast and coffee. Crystal was a great host, and we'd definitely recommend this house to other travelers looking to experience Charleston.

  • Our stay with Crystal was a very pleasant one! This Seattleite was able to experience southern hospitality first hand. Crystal is very warm and friendly and not shy about sharing her vast knowledge of Charleston and the surrounding area. She was also very accommodating to our needs, even making sure the canines and my canine-adverse girlfriend stayed separate. All the basics were met: clean room and bedsheets, breakfast, air conditioning (very important in Charleston), clean restrooms, towels, filtered water, and the location is not to far from downtown or the highway. Listening to her stories about her family and their history in the area was definitely something you don't get at the hotel. We highly recommend Crystal and her lovely home for your Charleston adventure!

  • We loved staying at Crystal's airbnb beside the water. Crystal welcomed us warmly and ensured that we had plenty of information to enjoy beautiful Charlestown. The accommodation was really comfortable and the quiet location is an easy drive into the tourist spots within ten minutes. Crystal's bubbly personality and ready laughter made it a joy to stay there. Sitting on the deck at the end of the day was a real treat.

Whatever! Ha ha. For all I know you could be saying terrible things in German. I see my name there a couple times, other than that? Just kidding. I'm glad you got home safe and sound and visited me on your travels...

  • My fiance and I stayed 4 nights at Crystal's place. The pictures were exactly what her place looked like. Crystal made us feel very welcome and at home. The room was very comfortable and she even provided bottled water in the room, which was a nice touch. We enjoyed the breakfast foods she provided on her beautiful deck. Also, Crystsl's place is a great location - in a quiet neighborhood and within 10 or 15 minutes from downtown and 20 minutes from the beach. Thanks Crystal for a terrific stay.

  • Our stay with Crystal was more than we expected! Fabulous location in Riverland Terrace, a wonderful suburb on James Island. Great deck overlooking waterway. Egrets and herons joined us for breakfast each day.
Quick to Folly Beach and Charleston proper.
Very safe for walking and biking.
Our mini dachs, Magnolia, had a great time, too. Resident mini dach, Oliver, was very welcoming.
Crystal is a friendly, very accommodating host. We will return!

  • I highly recommend staying with Crystal. She is sooo helpful, friendly and accomadating. We had complications with the car rental she offered to pick us up from the airport (for a very reasonable fee) and then the next day dropped us off to the car rental just to be nice. Great place with a cute dog; We also got very lucky to meet two great woman that were also stary in the upstairs guest room.
    Thank you for everything Crystal

About
I'm a Realtor for Re/Max Pro Realty. I love animals and being outdoors. I enjoy great conversations, and lots of laughter. Who doesn't? I love to be active, swimming in the ocean, going to dancersize, yoga, walks around the historic district of Charleston to admire the gardens and architecture of the old homes. Good food, a nice glass of wine, quiet time in the evenings are my idea of the perfect end to the day. I like all kinds of music, old movies, slice of life, triumph over adversity in my books and movies. No violence please. I've traveled throughout the Caribbean and Latin America and own a home in Costa Rica on the Pacific Coast. Recently went to Europe and am anxious to go back. Love to have visitors to show them our beautiful sights.
