The landscape around this, the Poet's Home, is just gorgeous. My husband and I are in our late 20s, and eager to be out walking, so we walked from here to florence nearly every day. At an unhurried pace, it would take us just about an hour to be at the heart of the city, by the river and the Uffizi. The walk is lovely, following old roads that wind through the countryside, past churches and old buildings and lined with stone walls, with very little traffic. The home is also very near Scandicci, with a nice selection of grocery stores about a 15 minute walk away. This walk isn't as nice — along a busy roadway with a narrow shoulder — but very manageable once you've done it one or two times, even at night. The home itself is comfy. Great bed, nice kitchen, and small but effective bathroom. The hot water tank is a bit small but holds plenty for one blazing hot shower in the morning, and another at night. The kitchen was fully equipped, so for the month that we stayed there we cooked most of our own meals. The hosts are sweet. Nicola seems like he's got a great story or two to share, but sadly we didn't get the chance to pick his brain. Finally, whether you stay here or not (and I do think you should; it's lovely), when you are in Florence, take coffee at Ditta Artigianale. They're the only 3rd wave shop in town, and you can actually work on a laptop there. In closing, we were very happy with our month here. A shorter stay would surely have warranted a place in the city, but for a longer stay this Poet's Home was poetic ;)
Rosalia and Nicola are the wonderful host family and they always try to help you so that feel so much comfortable and well secured. The poet's house is really ideal for those who love to live on the charming Tuscan hill, feel fresh breeze, enjoy breathtaking sunset far over the cypres trees. But you can still access to the central city only 10 mints. walk and another 10 mints. bus ride. the huge supermarket Esselunga is also newly opened just down and around the corner to fulfill your appetite!! I had such a wonderful experience there, thank you Rosalia and Nicola!
Email-Antworten kamen immer prompt.
The Poet's home is very nicely done, I was by myself but it would also be perfect for a couple. It was super clean, nicely furnished and prettier than I expected. Everything I needed was in the house. I loved the area. It's very peaceful and relaxing and only ten minutes from the center of Florence (as long as you have a car, which i did). Rosaria is very nice and honest. She even offered to get me medicine when I got sick. I was never bothered and really felt like having my very own home on top of the hill in Tuscany in the middle of the olive garden. I highly recommend the place if you're looking for a peace and privacy yet close distance to all the touristy stuff.
