ABOUT a small cozy house NOSTALJI:
This place is HOMESTAY style. Not a Guest house. Hotel, neither. I want you to experience something different in Japan, especially in Kyoto. Not staying at hotels, guest houses or backpacker’s houses but staying in a unique place where you can do only in Kyoto, that is to say, TOMO's house NOSTALJI ．We need to have "HOMESTAY CONTRACT". If you do not respect the rules, deposit is not refundable.
The purpose should be not staying with me as a tourist but living as part of the family even if it's for a short time. Don't miss the chance to have the same life-style as local Japanese people do! Many Japanese are not rich at all. Neither am I. So please do not expect too much. Dinner is simple and my house is very small.
Location is very good, it's just 15 minutes walk from Central Kyoto station so you have easy access to many touristy places as well.
One dinner is included if you stay two nights. I'll prepare simple dinner for you. ATTENTION:
If you decide not to have dinner at Nostalji, I'm sorry it's not refundable.

I can hardly welcome these people who ..
1. smoke too much or drink too much.
2. party animals (Find a hotel or a hostel in downtown. There are many there.)
3. use my place as a love hotel. If you need to do something, please stay at a hotel or hostel.)
4. are not well organised. (We should be very organised as we are always busy. We can not be stuck just for you all the time.)
5. always play by one's own rules.
Tomo-San took very good care of us during our stay. He provided detailed information for us to approach the apartment. And he gave our lots of recommendation for our travel. We love the weird and wonderful room Catting with Tomo-San is also fun! Food cooked by Tomo is super great!
Great experience staying in the house. Tomo speak great english and gave fantastic recommendation on attractions to go to in Kyoto. He was very friendly to us from the start to the end. We truly enjoyed and miss our stay there. Thanks for making our Japan trip memorable from the deepest of our heart. Regards, Winson and Desmond
Cool little Japanese home, full of weird and interesting little knickknacks. Stay here if you want an authentic, local living experience but don't expect to find the creature comforts that a hotel or hostel can provide. Also Kyoto is a little underwhelming, we strongly suggest staying in nearby Osaka and maybe taking a day trip to check out the shrines and gardens from there. Tomo was a good host, kept in contact with us and made sure everything was sorted.
Had a great time with TO MO! He cooked us such yummy food and we went to one of his gigs one night, a lot of fun. His place is quirky and ideal if you are looking for something different than the standard hostel. He was kind enough to even drive us to the station on our last day. Good location near kyoto station. We stayed there for 3 nights which would probably be the ideal number of nights you would want there.
Ponkichi's house is very close to the kyoto station, it is very convinient for the vistors. the house is a little old but very traditional Japanese house, you can have a try if you like this kind of style. Ponkichi and his friend is very kind and helpful .many thanks
Love this old-style house, it's at a quiet area, and independent space is good for travelers. Most important, the host is very easy-going, and they will tell you travel information in detail.

Please ask the availability first. Beacause I am too busy to update the calender. Do not send me a booking request without our conversation about the availability.
My name is TOMO. I live alone as I am enjoying freedom in the rest of my life. I like cooking. I'm a great guide and know many local places which are not touristic at all. I play music for fun and love magic trics. If you can play the instrument, let's jam together. I have a guitar, an Organ, a toy piano, a harmonica, an ukulele and a Sanshin(traditional instrument from Okinawa.)
