Large Apartment in Haight Ashbury!

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Oak St, San Francisco, CA 94117, United States

Spacious 1 BR in prime San Francisco location. Located on the edge of the park providing a great balance of the bustling Haight life (bars, restaurants, shopping) and the expansive natural beauty of Golden Gate and it's many museums contained within.

The Space

Well maintained apartment overlooking the panhandle park in a quiet 4 unit Victorian building. Perfect location close to Haight Ashbury restaurants and shops and Golden Gate Park's natural beauty and museums. Essentially this is an ideal, safe, & central location for an out of town visitor!

Our home is great for a couple, but the large living room also has a day bed which can be converted into a queen in order to sleep an additional two. There is an office and wifi for those that are needing to get some work done.

The apartment comes equipped with a lush Temperpedic bed with fresh linens, towels, dishware, cookware, utensils, basic kitchen appliances, hair dryer, and iron. It will be professionally cleaned prior to your arrival.

Guest Access

We have cable, a large movie selection, and wide variety of games for those looking to play. I will leave maps and recommendations for local spots I highly recommend. And should you want to stay close to home, there is also a beautiful private garden in the back which is great to relax in. It also may be possible to arrange parking for a small fee though street parking is available and ample (no residential tag needed).

Interaction with Guests

While I'd love to show you around San Francisco personally, the reason our apartment is available to you is because we are out of town. Therefore, don't expect much interaction beyond a key transfer. However, I'll prepare you with local suggestions prior to your stay and am always available by phone should you have any questions or need assistance. I am sure by staying in our curated apartment in the lively Haight neighborhood and checking out some of our local recommendations, you'll leave SF with a good taste of the city.

The Neighborhood

If there's any area of San Francisco that evokes images of the long-gone '60s hippie culture, Haight Ashbury is it. But save for a few hippie relics, the Haight today is a whole new scene. Exclusive boutiques, high-end vintage-clothing shops, Internet cafés, lively bars and hip restaurants have all settled in, making the Haight one of San Francisco's commercial centers. It also is bordered by Golden Gate park with a beautiful, sprawling landscape and cultural attractions such as the California Academy of Sciences and the DeYoung museum.

Getting around

There is easy access to public transportation (Muni N line nearby) should you want to go downtown or to the ocean. There's also buses and taxis that are easy to catch on Haight st. at any time of day.

  • Made an impromptu weekend visit to SanFrancisco. Came across Brian and Kate's listing and it was perfect. Kate responded immediately when I contacted her. She was kind and accommodating! Their apt was exactly as it was shown in pictures...plus even more traditional SanFran in person! She's extremely tidy and organized..and I felt immediately at home there. I was surprised at how peaceful and quiet it was...slept like a baby! Perfect location for exploring beautiful Golden Gate park, and easy access to Haight Ashbury fun!!
Thanks for hosting me Brian and Kate!

  • Kate's apartment was lovely - clean, spacious, well-decorated, and very homey. We loved being so close to the park and the panhandle. Further, Kate made it very easy for us to rent from her; she was very friendly, communicative, and organized. Thanks again for a great stay!

  • Kate's place is great! It is like staying with your friends but cleaner. The location is perfect. Half a block from Golden Gate Park and close to many shops and restaurants. The neighborhood feels very safe and has excellent access to public transportation.

The unit is very light with big windows into the living room. The decor is great with many interesting and playful touches including a fish tank in an old television set (and a sign that says no fishing). Kate's recommendations for coffee and eateries were great.

Loved the place, location and dealing with Kate!

  • Kate's home was lovely and in a great part of town. Her apartment view faces the park and the view was beautiful in the morning. We were just a block away from many shops and restaurants, which made our trip that much easier. I would love to stay there again!

  • Kate's place was perfect for us, a lovely little victorian apartment, a home away from home. it was comfortable, and we had everything that we needed. She left us maps and books about SF (though we didnt have time to dig into the books) but the maps were so handy, and saved us from being lost countless times. Thanks again Kate, for sharing your place with us.
