Only 2 Blocks from Golden Gate Park

Apartment - Private room · Golden Gate Ave, San Francisco, CA 94118, United States

The Space

One room available in a 2 bed/2 bath apartment just 2 blocks from Golden Gate Park (botanical garden, museums, recreational activities, etc.). Many weekends we are away so there is also the possibility of you having the whole apartment to yourself, in which case the price goes up to $160/night for 4 people and the use of both bedrooms and bathrooms.

Numerous bus lines just a short walk away, 10 minute walk to the famous Haight/Ashbury District, and less than 10 minute walk to all the shops and restaurants of the Inner Richmond District. Grocery store, laundromats, cafe, and bike shop (with rentals) all around the block. We are a short and easy bike ride away from Ocean Beach, the Presidio, and the Golden Gate Bridge. Our neighborhood is very quiet and safe but there is a lot to see and do nearby.

The guest room is medium sized with a queen sized bed, closet with shelf space, and nice natural light. Ideal for a couple or a person traveling solo. Linens and bath towels are provided free of charge. The apartment has 2 full split bathrooms (separate toilet room and shower/sink room) and guests would have the use of a toilet and bath/shower combo to themselves.

Guests also have access to the kitchen/living room and free wireless internet. The kitchen is stocked with all the basic utensils for cooking. Please note that despite the website's name, we DO NOT offer breakfast or other food for guests. Street parking only but its easy for SF and free.

We are a very active adventurous couple who work hard during the week and unwind on the weekends with hiking, biking, and camping trips or socializing with friends in this amazing city. We are more than happy to provide directions, advice, and tips for getting around the city and the Bay Area.

  • We enjoyed our stay here a lot. Check in was easy, the apartment was nice, and it was in a great location with the park and Haight-Ashbury scene a short walk away. There were also lots of Muni buses that passed close by, so downtown and the Mission were easy to get to.

  • We had a great time in San Fransisco and this beautiful, specious bedroom definitely had something to do with that! Julie is very nice and helps out wherever she can ( tips for restaurants, transportation etc.)
Because you have your own bathroom it really gives a lot of privacy WITH a homy feeling to it, exactly what we were looking for! Public transportation is close by and brings you right in the heart of SF, whereas the beautiful park is just a little stroll away for a morning run/walk! It is a quiet, safe, cute neighbourhood so if you want to party you might want to head into town, for us this was perfect!

  • TRANSACTION:
This was my first time using airbnb. Julie & Roger where extremely good about communicating with us before our transaction as well as when arranging the whole thing. It was nice and we felt comfortable when making a reservation with them. Even when arriving they had maps of the city as well as a chalk board in the kitchen with contact info and useful numbers.

    STAY:
The weekend we stayed at their place no one was home and arrived at night, so for us it was a bit scary walking in because there were doors which we didn't quite know what was on the other side of them...Aside from the neighbors that are literally right on the other side of the wall, our stay was pleasant, simple, and clean. Be forewarned tub/shower is kinda sketch [maybe a tub mat lining for grip would help].

    OVERALL:
I would recommend staying here, its a convenient location - or at least it was for us. Towels laid out on the bed, decent neighborhood, (on weekends- parking not a big issue if you don't show up later than 7:30 PM).

  • It was wonderful to stay at Julie and Roger's place. Luckily, we arrived when Julie came home and she was able to give us the inside scoop on parking (we didn't have to drop the rental car at the airport and found parking a short walk away). Their place was very cute and cozy. The bed was nice and firm, wonderful to sleep in! We were able to talk to Julie the next night about her upcoming adventures as well as ours. We would definitely stay with them again if we go back to SF for another West Coast adventure.

  • We had a great stay at Julie's and Roger's Place. It is a Secure and nice Area and Not far away from the City centre. Both were very Kind and helped us during the stay. Thank you for having us there!

  • Great location! Easily to find Grocery store & Laundry!

  • It was a nice and comfy stay at Julie and Roger's place. We didn't meet Roger during our stay, though. Julie was nice and helpful. The location of the apartment was great; two blocks away from the GG Park and quite close to Haight st. We even walked to Golden Gate Bridge! We definitely recommend this apartment as you will have a private bathroom which is great.

  • Though we didn't see them a lot, Julie and Roger were very nice and welcoming. The apartment is perfectly located, very convenient to explore SF. The private bathroom is a real plus. I definitely recommend it.

  • Wonderful city and wonderful room. The location was really good - Golden Gate park was just a couple of minutes away and right around the corner was Cafe Velo Rouge that we loved so much! We had our separate bathroom what was a big plus! During 4 days we saw our hosts just once, due to their and our busy schedules, but they left a really good and caring impression. Would recommend this room to friends for sure!

  • My stay at Julie and Rogers was great. The apartment has an older but cozy feel to it. The room is a perfect size.

It's a great location if you're going to check out the Golden Gate Bridge and Golden Gate Park while in San Francisco. It's also fairly close to Haight street.

I didn't meet Roger during my stay but Julie is super nice and sweet. I would definitely recommend staying here.

About
We are a very active, adventurous couple who enjoy spending as much time traveling and experiencing the world as possible. Julie is a schoolteacher (lots of vacations for traveling) and Roger is an architect. Some of our hobbies include: hiking, camping, SCUBA/snorkeling, snowboarding/skiing, cycling, and enjoying good food and drink. We are pretty easy-going and mellow, we like the simple but good things in life, and we like our home to be a relaxing, comfortable place to rest after our adventures. If you stay with us, we are happy to provide you with information and advice on navigating and getting the most out of our incredible city and the bay area. Our lives are very full as we work hard during the week so we can play on the weekends, but when we can, we would enjoy sharing a glass of wine over adventure stories with our guests.
