About this listing
Located on the shores of Lake Ontario, this wonderfully situated and idyllic property is an escape like no other. Only minutes from downtown Toronto, the city is at your feet, while the beautiful and serene beachfront allows you to revel in the joys of nature.
Sunbathe all day on your private beach and patio on Lake Ontario and spend all night exploring Toronto nightlife.
Charming and scenic neighbourhood of beautiful homes, cascading trees, parks, tennis courts, bike paths along the beachfront, and a lovely yacht club.
Restaurants and shops are only a walk, or a short streetcar ride, away. The streetcar runs 24 hours a day and takes you all the way into the downtown core.
Les and Barbara are the most lovely, welcoming and helpful hosts! They greeted us warmly the first day and showed us the apartment and the property, and have made themselves available for anything we have needed along the way (They even helped us in the water when our kayak tipped!) The apartment is great - more spacious than we expected - and has everything you need (linens, towels, kitchen utensils etc.) There is also a small balcony facing the water that is just for use by the apartment, which was a pleasant surprise. The backyard is beautiful!!! The upper terrace is great for meals outside and the lower terrace is great for drinks by the lake, sun tanning or watching the geese, swans and ducks swim by. The backyard is very well kept by Les and Barbara and they are most hospitable when you are out there (turning on lights, offering music, showing what available in the cabana etc.) The backyard space and amenities are shared with Les, Barbara, the other tenants and other air BnB guests, but that never presented a problem. The location is great. Close to the TTC streetcar and the Long Branch Go Train Station. It is about a 15 minute drive east to downtown Toronto and a 10 minute drive west to Port Credit. There is a grocery store, LCBO, Beer store and pharmacy about a 2 minute drive/15 min walk away and lots of great restaurants (burgers, Italian, pizza, fresh, empanadas, burritos etc.) Also the street in great for walks, biking and roller blading! It is right on the Waterfront trail, which if you follow in either direction leads you to many parks and parkettes. Marie Curtis park is about a 15 minute walk down the Waterfront trail and has a beach, beach volley ball courts, picnic areas and a small water park for children. We would definitely come back here and stay during the summer and recommend this air BnB to any one who is looking for a cottage feel, close to the city.
This was my 4th time at Les's house because it's one of my favorites. I usually am working when traveling to the Toronto area. This time, I invited my boyfriend to discover this charming lake front apartment. As usual, the place was nice and clean. The fully-equipped kitchen was perfect for romantic home-cooked dinners and quiet intimate breakfasts. Our hosts were extremely considerate, making sure we had everything to be comfortable during our stay. We had a blissful afternoon of "farniente" on the double bed sized swing on the patio. We would definitely go back if we had a chance.
Nous avons passé un agréable séjour (2 jours et 2 nuits) dans l'appartement de Les. La vue sur le lac Ontario est magnifique. Les est un hôte très agréable et très disponible.
We enjoyed our time in Les apartement very much. The apartement was very cosy and charming with an amazing view on lake ontario. We liked the interior very much. Even the cutlery was so beautiful so that we had to take a picture.
We really felt at home here. The apartment has lots of space, is clean and we even had a few things prepared for breakfast. We were on bus birds in Toronto and it was really easy to get everywhere.
He best thing however is the view.
You can enjoy it from the apartment and also from the area prepared right next to the water.
We will certainly be back and can only recommend staying there
Amazing, beautiful location, close to everything and an easy drive to downtown Toronto. The house itself is rather old, clean but with a feeling of neglect to it. The master bedroom's mattress is almost unusable, you end up rolling into a pit in the middle and waking up with a major back pain.
Luckily, I wasn't there for the sleeping, and as with everything - location is what matters the most, and it is great.
