About This Listing
Amazing apartment in Little Italy and very close to Kensington Market, University of Toronto, Chinatown, the Annex, the Royal Ontario Museum, the Ossington bar and nightclub strip etc etc -the location is the best! Right by the College St street car, ten min walk from Bathurst subway, and there are Bixie rental bikes nearby (these are great, you pay for a day and can take them and drop them off at stands all over the city). Steps away from great bars, restaurants, and at the end of my street is the BEST brunch place in the world ever -for veggies AND meateaters. Also ice cream parlors, a cinema (The Royal -second-run and indie/art house films), liquor store, convenience stores and a 24hr supermarket. All this, and yet it is just far enough up from College street that it feels like a quiet leafy neighborhood totally removed from the city.
You will be sharing the apartment with me, and my fabulous black pug Stephen. He's very sociable but also chilled out once we gets over the excitement of meeting a new person. You will love him, even if you didn't think you were into dogs -he changes people's minds :)
I'm in my early 30s, a visual artist, and I also work at a university photographic archive. I generally work 9-6, I'm easy-going and happy to chat, I can definitely give you lots of tips and recommendations about the city, but will also give you a lot of space.
The room is small, a single bed and desk and chair, linens and towels are provided. I've had couples stay a few times, but really it's pretty tiny and I feel bad for them, so I only accept solo guests now. The apartment is lovely, there is loads of sunlight, living room, kitchen (you are very welcome to cook, as long as you clean up after) and an amazing back deck, wonderful for the summer, overlooks a garden belonging to the apartment below. I'm a non-smoker (reformed) and there is no smoking in the house, but on the deck is fine as long as you take care of the butts. High speed wifi and very effective air conditioning/heating, and a washing machine if you need to do laundry on longer stays.
Clare's place was just what I needed: a simple, small place to sleep. The Apartment was clean and comfortable and Clare was a fine host (I only wish that I had more time to visit during my stay). And you really can't beat the neighbourhood: Kensignton Market, Little Italy and the Annex all within a short walk.
Thanks very much Clare - all the best.
Clare's place is the perfect location for browsing both Kensington Market and the Bathurst/Bloor area, and only a short journey via public transport to the more touristy destinations. This was a good base for a few days. Clare was on hand to advise about nearby cafes (Voodoo Coffee was my favourite), what was happening in Toronto, as well as advice on street cars and subways - valuable information!
Clare is warm, friendly and very easy to get along with. Clare's space is located in the "heart of it " at College / Bathurst intersection. The location offers you a chance to hop to many villages like Little Italy, Annex, Dundas West, Bloor St. West, Kensington Market and to Queen Street West, Harbord St. or UofT. All the amenities you could think of were provided. Excellent wifi connection, books, to feed your creature comforts etc., There is a lovely patio, full eat in kitchen, washer en-suite, great shower with amazing water pressure, and a lovely comfy couch with a lounge chair to relax in the spacious living room with a skylight. Clare's dog is a cute pug who is a total sweetie and very friendly. Wonderful location to go see Toronto and easily get into the heart of Toronto. Had a quiet great nights sleep as the neighborhood is a quiet residential area two minutes for College Street. TTC, cabs, coffee shops like Manic and other foodie creature comforts are all in walking distance. Great location, cozy room and easy going host. Clare is a photographer, teacher and the art is a great experience in her space as well. Wonderful host, location and creature comforts.
Clare was accommodating and friendly. The room was as described, the apartment clean, and the house is in a convenient location to explore a bunch of great neighborhoods. It was a positive experience; I'd stay here again if coming back to the area.
I had a great time at Clare's apartment, which was clean, homely and conveniently centrally located. Clare was very flexible in letting me in late at night (because of a late flight), and gave clear instructions about the house. The room is not big, but perfect for those having things to do around town. Last but not least: the bed was very, very comfortable. All in all, I'd definitely recommend!

About the Host, Clare
I'm a photographer, artist and teacher, originally from Northern Ireland and living in Canada for the last ten years. I was in Toronto at first, Montreal for three years and now back in Toronto since three years. I'm calm and friendly, definitely not in-your -ace but totally up for chatting over a tea and giving or receiving traveling tips.
