The apartment was dirty, my room was full of spider webs and very dusty. The Bathroom tub was full of molds not very healthy. When I told her about it she said she had just washed the bathroom with vim.
I am very sorry but It is not important for me that it looks stylish but for me it is very important that it is clean.
I did not stay there for the full time as I found myself another place to stay.
Fantastic place and eat location! Can't beat it.
Gail was welcoming and very informative about Montreal.
Exactly as described. The place was clean, comfortable and quiet. Close to public transport making it easy to get around. The only downside was that there's only 1 bathroom shared between the 6 bedrooms. However, at this price, it's definitely worth it.
I'll start and say that it's a very very cheap price for accommodation in your own room. However, you should be prepare that the place has an atmosphere of a hostel. The public space is shared by three or more partners (plus you), and it noticeable.
the place was not very clean to my opinion, not the bedroom or the rest of the apartment.
Fine location and nice area with lots of cafes, easy to get to the central area with public transportation or by foot.
Nice place to live in Montreal
The location was great. The place clean. We couldn't figure out how to work the shower. Would have liked a room that locked too. Gail was prompt in responding to reservation request. Always answered the phone, was polite and easy to deal with.
Gail is extremely courteous and the house is great. It's hard to go wrong in such a great city but the place we stayed at was in an awesome location and was very clean. Gail greeted us at the door and made up the very comfortable bed for us. I would definitely come stay in one of her places again, hopefully soon!
My adult son and I stayed in two separate rooms for two nights. The price is excellent for Montreal. The rooms were clean and everything we needed. We used the kitchen, chatted with other airbnb guests, and liked the area. This place is more like a hostel in that there are about 5, 6 bedrooms and we all share the kitchen and bathroom. Gail was there to greet us, but doesn't live there.
I could imagine staying here for a longer time.
One day my son and I rented BIXI bikes and went all over the city all day. We were able to walk to and from the best part of St Catherine Street too.
We had a little snafu when we wanted to leave on the final day, and didn't know how to leave our key because Gail wasn't there. But it all worked out. (Another guest locked the door behind us.)
Gail is warm and accommodating, and all of her other guests were very welcoming. Her place is very clean, quiet, and comfortable. The location is great, close to a Bixi sation, well-served by buses, and a 15-minute walk to the Quartier Latin. Lots of good restaurants nearby and a grocery across the street.
You can't leave Montreal without eating poutine-- and the best is at Poutineville at 1365 Rue Ontario Est. They're really nice folks, and the food is very good. They specialize in poutine, but the salads are outstanding as well.
There are also some good cafes for une bol of cafe au lait and a croissant. We breakfasted at Pamplemousse, about five blocks down on the other side of the street.
My friend and I had a great experience staying at Downtown Montreal-Village 5. The place was quiet all of the time and we never noticed other people staying there. There is a nice spacious kitchen and a back deck where you can eat in the fresh air. Unfortunately there were no locks on the bedroom doors so we had to leave our valuables in our car. Also- the bathroom could have been a little bit cleaner. But overall we had a great stay and for the money it cannot be beaten. Gail was great with helping us find parking and finding our way around the city.
