About this listing
Beautiful 4 bedroom house on Belgrave Avenue, a quiet street above Cole Valley, with plenty of parking and quick walk down the hill to GG Park, Haight Ashbury and Public Transportation.
Great views of the North Bay and GG Bridge from almost every room. Main floor includes kitchen, dining room and living room, with access to front courtyard. Top floor includes master suite with great bathtub, as well as den (cable TV) and office. Downstairs includes three kids rooms, including two with double beds that can accomodate couples.
We are a casual family so the house is well lived in and are comfortable with others doing the same. That said, leaving the place in reasonable shape (we understand that sheets and towels will be dirty of course) is expected. You're welcome to entertain, but a rager party wouldn't be welcome.
We have a dog, but she wouldn't be in the house.
Beautiful home with an outstanding view of the city! There was plenty of room for our party of five allowing for a comfortable stay. Bob was a great host and easy to contact for any questions. Would recommend this house to anyone. Thanks Bob!
The Cole Valley house is wonderful! We were made to feel very at home by our hosts and loved the beautiful view from the top of the hill. The kitchen was spacious and functional and there was a nice grill outside for doing dinners. Street parking was readily available, which was much appreciated in a city where you need the parking goddess to help you find a space for your car!
We loved loved loved our stay! It was perfect for my family of five (kids 6,4, 1) and my mother was with us as well. The view was phenomenal! The weather was ideal while we were there (minimal fog) so we had clear views of the entire city, including GG Bridge. The house was clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. The master bed was very comfortable. The neighborhood was safe, quiet, and friendly. One of my favorite parts was opening the windows and doors and enjoying the fresh, cool air. (We can't do that in Houston.) It's location was ideal- short drive to Golden Gate Bridge, Fishermans Wharf/Pier 39, Muir Woods (Redwood trees), Half Moon Bay, SF Zoo, Exploratorium and so much more. Golden Gate Park is just a couple miles away, and a must see! We enjoyed the hiking trails down the street and the phenomenal look out point on the other end of the street. The parking was easy and convenient (not the case for majority of SF). We never saw any patrol but we played it on the safe side and moved our car to avoid getting a ticket. (Signs posted for 2 hour parking only between M-F 8-5.) We had a rental car because we had our whole family and we did lots of touristy things just outside of SF. But public transportation was just down the hill, and my husband used it to get into downtown for work. We hosted dinner one night for some of my husband's coworkers and they all enjoyed their visit and were blown away by the view as well. We truly appreciate Bob's hospitality in providing a portable crib for my infant! A huge help! The one and only concern was the musty smell downstairs. But we opened the windows/doors to ventilate and it was fine. I honestly cannot say enough great things. We didn't want to leave. And can't wait to return. Thank you Bob, Elissa, and family for sharing your home with us and all the incredible memories!
Bob's place was great - comfortable for the 6 of us. We're a young family with kids 12, 8 and 5 years old and my sister also got to come along. The views were beautiful as Cole Valley sits right below Twin Peaks, and we had very clear days while there. We loved the views, and couldn't believe we were in San Francisco! Getting to most of the main spots only took about 15-20 minutes.
The house has 3 stories along with a deck, and the kids had plenty of toys and places to play together.
We were concerned about allergies for my son because they have a dog, but we were told by Bob that their dog is a non-shedder. My son didn't have any problems with his allergies which was great. In some areas of the house, there would be a strong dog smell. We meant to buy a room freshener but forgot and just dealt with it.
Bob is very responsive with any messages. The house is near a hiking area- very nice to explore and so close to the home. Thanks for letting us use your place!
The Cole Valley house was the perfect place for us to spend Christmas with our adult children. We found the house comfortable with a perfect layout for our family. The four bedrooms came in very handy with the master bedroom upstairs and the other 3 bedrooms on the lower level. The 2 ½ bathrooms also was very nice. There was a nice deck which provided great views of the city and toward the Golden Gate Bridge. The views are spectacular especially at night. The kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed to cook and enjoy Christmas dinner. Having a six burner stove was a real treat. We enjoyed Golden Gate Park less than a mile away, and two smaller parks which are very close by. We took frequent walks to explore the area. I loved being able to connect my I-pod to the house speakers and stream music on the main floor and/or upstairs bedroom. Bob is a gracious host and responded quickly to any texted and email questions.
Bob's family's home was wonderful- gorgeous views, fully stocked kitchen, lovely atmosphere. My family had a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend thanks to the great location and getting so spend quality family time together in such a well loved, well lived in home.
The only qualm we had was that the strong musty smell on the first floor triggered a couple of allergies, but nothing we couldn't remedy with Claritin!
We're grateful to Bob and his family for allowing us to borrow their space over the holiday- he was a great host.
Bob's home is a pleasure and is perfect for living as a citizen of San Francisco more. There is a harmony and naturalness throughout the house that makes you feel at home from the first minute. Bob is a great host who gives you all the hospitality and amenities.
The location is superb as the neighborhood is the best in town for its tranquility, atmosphere and friendliness of the neighborhood. The announcement of the host is as honest as humble. I have only words of thanks because we live the experience we were looking for a home in a beautiful city.

About the Host, Bob
We are a family with three kids, living in San Francisco. We are active and casual, so our living spaces strive to be comfortable but not too fancy. We leave the City for three to four week every summer, as well as for the occasional week during winter vacations, and are happy to make our house available at those time.
