My work: Research Assistant in the Neurology of Language; Docent
Speaks English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish
I'm Tally and I am an American polyglot living in Berlin working in academia and doing a PhD in neurolinguistics. I work in a research lab using brain imaging techniques to study the neurology of language processing and comprehension, and I teach BA students in German Studies about linguistics. Apart from languages, I love cooking (baking bread has been my latest obsession), traveling (especially if it is transcontinental), reading (I even have my own book club! though I secretly mostly read sci-fi), good music (from Arcade Fire to Led Zeppelin), robots (thank you, Assimov) and nice people. I've been in Berlin since 2008, and I've lived in Prenzlauer Berg, Friedrichshain, and Neukölln before settling in Kreuzberg in 2014. If you let me stay in your home, I promise to handle it with care, and if you stay in mine, please do the same!
My partner is from France (Brittany) and works in IT. He really loves German beer (especially beer from northern Bavaria), cooking and eating delicious food, Terry Pratchett, reggae music, and traveling with his awesome wife. We have three children who tag along with us on all our adventures and are growing up to be expert travelers themselves.
