Potrero Hill is a well known residential neighborhood in San Francisco. It is very close to downtown and the famous sites of San Francisco like Moscone Center, Museum of Modern Art, Pier 39, Fisherman's Wharf, and Union Square. There is a large grocery store, Safeway, located on 16th Street and Potrero (about 6 blocks away) that is open 24 hours or Whole Foods Market is 3 blocks away.
About 4 blocks away from the home are some very famous San Francisco restaurants located at 18th Street & Connecticut: Goat Hill Pizza, Eliza's, Chez Maman, Aperto, Baraka, Thanya & Salee, and many others. Starbucks is located 4 blocks away. There is a nice playground for small children two blocks up Vermont Street with beautiful views.
San Francisco is a very small city. The city limits are only 7 x 7 miles so everything is close by and it is easy to get around by car, taxi or public transportation.
This home is not very accessible for those with limited mobility since the bedrooms are one flight up stairs up from the street.
Guests will have access to the entire home.

We do allow pets with a $100 pet fee.
Day of departure, please be sure to have all the dishes washed and trash taken out down the back staircase.
If something is not working when you arrive, please let us know and we will do our best to fix it during your stay. We have a home warranty service that repairs dishwashers, washing machine, heating, etc. There are no refunds if an appliance is not working or if a TV or Wifi is not working, but we will do our best to fix it.
We appreciate our guests and the community. We think, as a general rule, it is important to be respectful of everybody.

The house was warm and welcoming. Nothing over the top but well located, clean, etc. I would recommend it.
Nice location although not particularly close to restaurants, etc (closest ones are a 10 minute walk). Clean and nice enough inside, but utilitarian; this is not the Ritz. Awesome view of SF skyline from the roof porch. Decent enough value for what you get.
My family (8 people, 50-70yrs) was visiting from all over the world and it was their first time staying at an airbnb rental. They all appreciated how clean and spacious the house was.
The only issue that they had was the sheet for the pull out sofa didn't look like it had been cleaned. There were plenty of extra sheets available, so it was easily remedied.
A caution to older people. The house is located in a very hilly neighborhood. While that is typical of SF, it's especially hilly in this area.
All in all, a great house and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has a large group visiting SF.
Thank you for being our guest. You are very correct! In fact, for any older people visiting San Francisco, people do realize HOW hilly the city is, ... so, any neighborhood with "hill" in it is going to be steep. Such as Potrero Hill, Nob Hill, Russian Hill, Telegraph Hill (which I think is the hilliest for sure... they even had to put steps in the sidewalk it is so steep), etc. The plus side, those neighborhoods do have great views.

The view is great, the space is large and the location is perfect for us.
We wouldn't recommend this house. There are far more properties available of better value for what we paid. We booked the house to spend a week in San Francisco for 7 adults and although location was good, we were disappointed by the general shabbiness of the property. It was certainly not as shown in the photos or they had been taken a very long time ago….and customer service was non existent. The positives? The location is great, close to bus routes although we didn't use them much we had a car, street parking was easy, bedrooms were a nice size and the beds were super comfy. The kitchen was well stocked with crockery and utensils. Negatives? The house is shabby, really appalling in places given the price and that it is supposedly "deluxe". Instead of feeling that excitement when we walked in, we felt bitterly disappointed. We were told the day before the washing machine was not working, this was despite noticing on previous reviews it had been broken months before this. The fire was also broken with cardboard taped over it and out of use to add to the list. You might say though, this couldn’t be helped, but what could be helped is the overall tiredness of the property. The owner should of stepped in long ago and re-done the entire place top to bottom, and I know booking can be back to back but maybe booking time out to re-decorate would have been advisable. The bedroom drawers were chipped and broken (a drawer fell out onto my daughters foot), the tiles on the kitchen area were loose with missing grout and a couple of sharp nails sticking out which I managed to cut my arm on before using masking tape to make safe . The ensuite bathroom is shabby at best, and the water stained carpets in the bedroom doorway (in both rooms downstairs) didn't really add to the ambience. The door in the master suite was falling apart and was draughty and let in a lot of traffic noise .the cream carpet in the master suite and staircase was dirty and stained. It is sad that I have to leave such negative feedback but they have had more than a fair chance to rectify and compensate us for our very valid complaints but the owner was just not interested .. Our issues were ignored, and after saying they would get back to us repeatedly the property management service, who you will deal with, display appalling customer care ..all we were offered was money back on any laundry expenses but it was July 4th weekend and was closed! The issue is the owner charged a high rental for a low rate property and actually agreed with us on the phone yet still only offers us compensation for laundry expenses …..something we couldn’t even use I’m sure they will post underneath how they are having new carpets fitted this month, but honestly, you’d need far more than carpets...
Thank you for the feedback. Airbnb hosts can really improve their homes with this sort of feedback. I can see from our records that the property manager and myself called and emailed back quickly with all concerns. Vacation rental homes always have things that need to be fixed, but since I live in the area, I am able to take care of things quickly. We just spent about $5000 on new carpeting: in all three bedrooms, the stairs leading up to the home and the stairs leading up to the master bedroom. It is unfortunate when appliances break down, but we have insurance for all the appliances so a repair person can fix these things. Sears was able to come out, order the part, and they are coming out this week to fix the washer. One of the glass doors to the fireplace suddenly broke. I was able to remove the door, and take it to a glass repair store. They cut out the glass and installed new glass and this week, I will be replacing it. Thanks again for the feedback.
Apartment is as described from a layout/space standpoint: 3 full bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, full kitchen (pretty well equipped too), reasonably good internet. The apartment is located in a nice residential neighborhood with easy parking. There is a Whole Foods about a 5 minute walk away, although no restaurants very close by. My only complaint is that the apartment is a bit "tired" -- i.e. it just feels a bit run down, and could benefit from some fresh paint, cleaning up the floors and carpets, and alot of the furniture is a bit banged up. But that didn't affect our stay at all - we really had a good time here and I would come back. As some other guests have mentioned, the 3rd bedroom (which is on the top floor) gets very bright in the morning as there are no blinds and several skylights. Some people will like this, others won't, so just be aware. It didn't bother us.
The washing machine was broken during our stay, but we were advised of this and in fact somebody attempted to repair it but needed to order parts.
They key pickup process was very easy. Overall, I'd recommend this apartment.

I think that will really help. We are working on fixing up a few things. It is challenging in the summer, since that is when it is booked most. But, any break we get, we are getting stuff done. Again, we apologize for the washer, thank you for understanding. It has been quite a struggle getting that repaired. Sears will only come when someone is at the home and wants to schedule their people during times when guests are at the house. We do not want to affect guests with intrusions such as waiting around for a 4 hour time block to fix a washer. -- Ugh! -- I hate when things break!
You are correct with the skylights. Light does come in. It does not shine directly on your face, but it does light up the room. Some of our guests love it. Some do not. I have slept many times in that room, .. I personally love it! But, it is definitely a personal preference thing.
