About This Listing
Edificios Condesa is an historical two-building complex covering an entire city block. It celebrated its 100th birthday in 2011 and still going strong. Restaurants, shops, lots of night life are all within walking distance and yet this tree-lined street is quiet and quite peaceful. Public transportation (buses & subway) is within a block or two. Every Tuesday there's an amazing street market taking place right at the front door and going on for 3 blocks.
The room is sunny, very clean and light with two single beds, all linen provided, closet, table & chairs. I'm also renting another bedroom with one double bed. The bathroom is shared. Kitchen privileges are provided, tea & coffee provided. Although there's no smoking in the apartment, smokers can sit on the steps and enjoy a view of Chapultepec Castle. I'm available to help you have the best time possible. I've lived, loved, traveled and been addicted to the food for many years and love sharing my experiences.
Every guest is welcome to use my apartment as their home. The only room that's not available for use, but not closed off, is my bedroom. The living room has the only TV and after playing with more remote controls than anyone would want to fiddle with, it works! The dining room is a great place to eat, particularly breakfast while checking out maps, etc. for the day ahead. The kitchen is has everything needed for a meal, or just stashing fruit, drinks and snacks.
Interaction with Guests
I'm home most days and am totally available to answer questions and help out with whatever may be needed. Mexico City is very easy to get around in. I'll help with reservations if my guests are going on to other parts of the country and always call a taxi for the airport. I love sharing me and my home.
It was a great great trip and we both feel extremely fortunate to have Mimi as our host. She took great care of us and it is a great pleasure knowing her. Mimi introduced us to fun places and new things. We enjoyed visiting the murals of Diego Rivera, azulejos and lots of other places, and we absolutely loved the market on wheel! She really made our experience complete. On the last day, we had some trouble finding a taxi to the airport and Mimi asked some of her friends to arrange the trip for us. All in all, Mimi had a great home and Mexico City is a great city. We really look forward to revisiting Mexico some time in the future.
México city is amazing, the place is in a great neighborhood, Mimi is great too!
The house is beautiful!
The only thing that I recommend is something to cover your eyes to sleep because there is a lot of light in the room in the morning. :)
Mimi is an unobtrusive and helpful host who generously shared her vast knowledge of Mexico City. Her apartment is situated in an oasis of calm in that hectic city, but is close to transit connections of every kind if you need to get anywhere in the city (or even on the regional bus), it's easy to do so.
It was my first experience with Airbnb, and it was incredible, especially because of Mimi. She is the most gracious hostess, makes her home become ours, gives us tips and sincerely cares about our experience. The neighborhood is safe, the building is extremely charming, close to supermarket, bakery and the metro Chapultepec. When I say close, is really close, it's like 2 blocks. You can walk by Paseo de la Reforma and Bosque de Chapultepec, and still return home without facing traffic. I really want to come back, Mexico City is a great place to meet, but I'm sure it was great because of Mimi.
Staying at Mimi's was my first experience with airbnb, and to Mexico, and it was a delight. After great instructions and welcoming emails, Mimi met me out the front of her beautiful home then sat me down for a chat and a pot of tea. Accompanying her to a friend's place introduced me to travel on buses and the metro. With Mimi's instructions I was riding the metro like a local in no time, something I had not expected to do with my meagre smattering of Spanish. She is wonderful company, a mine of information and truly welcomed me to feel at home. Her home is in a very safe and easy part of the city to explore from. I look forward to keeping in contact and would love to stay again. Thanks Mimi.
