The space

"A treehouse, a freehouse, a secret you and me house, a high up in the leafy branches, cosy as can be house" -- Shel Silverstein

The treehouse is indeed a cozy little place perched on four maples 30 feet above a blanket of ferns. Access is by a ramp 70 ft. from the main house, where you'll have a private bathroom with shower. This quiet place in the woods has heat, electricity, and a small refrigerator. The main floor has a single bed, or CLIMB THE LADDER to the loft with a queen sized futon and down comforter. Enjoy the comfy reading rocker or sit on the deck and gaze at Mt. Abraham and the Green Mountain National Forest. The hot tub is a relaxing year-round spa under the stars.

For those less adventurous, there is a guestroom in the main house with a double bed. We have no pets and are very neat and tidy but you may bring your dog (with advance notice). All linens and complimentary toiletries are provided, and you'll enjoy a generous continental breakfast in the sunny dining room in the morning.

Ellie and H are fabulous hosts, and everything about our stay with them was magical: a warm welcome, scenic views, cozy treehouse, delicious breakfast, and wonderful conversation. We really enjoyed our visit.

Everything everyone has already written about this airbnb experience is true. We were amazed at the hospitality of Ellie and H and the cozy hideaway in the woods. It went beyond what we expected and we will treasure these memories forever.

Everything about our weekend at the tree house was perfect. H and Ellie have thought of every detail to make their guests feel comfortable and happy. I have never felt so relaxed after a weekend away. Definitely hoping to return for future visits in all four seasons!

The Tiny Fern TreeHouse is a gem in New England! Harrison and Ellie are delightful souls, and we had a wonderful belated birthday celebration. The food is delicious, the views of Mt. Abe from the hot tub are great, the treehouse is super cute, but best of all is the care from the hosts. Highly recommended!

Thanks for this great review, Josh. H has cleaned out the Maca shelf at City Market and even drank a Rebbel Maca Mocha. Rebbel is out of Berkeley CA and my bff's son is the CEO. You're making us healthier already! Also, you may get a call from H's brother Phil Reynolds to have you look at a sore shoulder. Set him aright, if you will. Blessings and all good wishes to you and Court. 3

A unique and relaxing experience that does not disappoint. This is not a shed in a tree: every inch is meticulously designed for efficiency, and whimsically decorated. We loved the small touches throughout the property.. don't miss the forest Cairns that greet you during your winding ascent up the driveway. And of course: wonderful hosts who went the extra mile to make sure we were happy and comfortable.

Ellie was a high school English teacher for 25 years and was an Associate Professor at Spalding University in the MFA Writing program. She has five books in print. We designed and built this house 12 years ago. Son Will and H built the treehouse over the course of three summers. H was also a high school teacher and retired in 2009. Your stay in the treehouse includes a generous continental breakfast, a private bath, spa privileges, and a quiet place to relax.
