"A treehouse, a freehouse, a secret you and me house, a high up in the leafy branches, cosy as can be house" -- Shel Silverstein
The treehouse is indeed a cozy little place perched on four maples 30 feet above a blanket of ferns. Access is by a ramp 70 ft. from the main house, where you'll have a private bathroom with shower. This quiet place in the woods has heat, electricity, and a small refrigerator. The main floor has a single bed, or CLIMB THE LADDER to the loft with a queen sized futon and down comforter. Enjoy the comfy reading rocker or sit on the deck and gaze at Mt. Abraham and the Green Mountain National Forest. The hot tub is a sweet new addition to the place.
For those less adventurous, there is a guestroom in the main house with a double bed. We have no pets and are very neat and tidy but you can bring your dog if you want. All linens and little complimentary toiletries are provided, and you'll enjoy a generous continental breakfast in the sunny dining room in the morning.

Ellie and H were so warm and welcoming. The tree house, their home, and their land were all amazing. It's a great place to relax. Perfect for couples as well as families. We plan to go back next year.
We arrived to the beautiful setting of the treehouse during a bicycle trip with my 2 kids (11 & 9).
From the time we arrived we felt special.
The treehouse is spectacular and provides everything for a special experience.
The hot tub was a welcomed treat after days of bicycle riding.
Ohhhhhh the cookies they had for us waiting in the treehouse were sooooo good.
The hosts Harrison and Ellie are such wonderful people and truly made our stay a wonderful experience. They welcomed us into their home like we were family.
The breakfast was the best we had during our 5 day tour through Vermont.
Everyone should be so lucky to stay at the Tiny Fern Treehouse and to be hosted by H and Elllie.
We just loved it and will always remember it.
P.S. thanks again for helping us get into Bristol ;)
I'm hesitant to write this review as it's tempting to keep this place to myself. My daughter (age 14) and I decided to spend a night in a treehouse. It's on our "life list". I heard very good things about The Tiny Fern Forest Treehouse. They were all true! Upon check-in the Reynolds took the time to show us their home and the treehouse. You couldn't help but relax. Breakfast the next morning was delicious! I cannot wait to visit again.
The Tiny Fern Treehouse was magical and our visit was even more wonderful than expected! Ellie and H were the most gracious hosts. We loved our conversions with them and the homemade breakfast was scrumptious. My 9 year old son can't stop talking about our visit - we can't wait to return!
We had a great stay at the treehouse. The treehouse was cozy, the breakfast tasty and the Harrison and Ellie were great hosts. Thank you!
My husband and I stayed at this magical treehouse on the Friday of Memorial Day weekend! We were welcomed with wine, cheese, and warm conversation! Ellie and H. instantly made us feel at home, and the four of us laughed for hours. After a delightful dinner out, the hot tub under the stars was a treat, until the twinkling lights of the treehouse beckoned us in for the night. Over-looking the fern forest and hearing the birds the next morning, we were once again filled with gratitude as we sipped our coffee, 300 feet above the forest floor. As hard as this may be to believe, we didn't see a single mosquito! The waffle breakfast and homemade granola made us feel like children (even if we were secretly glad that there weren't any of those running around). Thank you, Ellie and H.! We hope to return one day soon!
My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Tiny Fern Treehouse. It was exactly what we expected - a peaceful getaway off the beaten path. Harrison and his wife, Ellie, were the perfect hosts: friendly, helpful and engaging. We enjoyed getting to know them over wine and cheese while watching the Kentucky Derby. They gave us outstanding suggestions for nearby hiking and the best restaurant meal we've had in years. The accommodations were comfortable and very special. It will be difficult to beat this experience.
Harrison was super accommodating, despite the inconvenient circumstances my trip presented him.
We absolutely loved our stay in the treehouse! Ellie and H are such sweet, gracious hosts, and the breakfasts they provided were amazing! Mom and I really enjoyed chatting with them over wine and snacks on Friday evening. The treehouse itself is an experience not to be missed! We had beautiful weather on Friday and Saturday and even got to enjoy some time out on the deck reading! Thanks so much for making mom's birthday a memorable one :).
The truth is that there are no words that adequately could describe what Ellie and H did for us and what they were to us. From the first moment we got to Fern Forest, we were welcomed with warm greetings from both. I went to the Treehouse with the dearest person to my heart and it was among the best memories of our lifetime. Ellie and H, as you'll read below, are examples of simple living and how to live a life of loving, contentedness and warmth. They are examples of how to love and how one human being should treat another. We felt, just like you'll feel without a doubt, as if you've known Ellie and H for years and my wish is that you'll find it hard to say goodbye to them when it's time to leave. And by the time you step into your car and drive off from Tiny Fern, I hope that you'll have a strong sense that you've made two new, lifelong friends that will only wish you success going forward.
This was a vacation unlike any other we've had before. Everywhere we looked in the house, we saw a home that had been put together over the years with a lot of care and thought, each piece of furniture and decoration had its own story to tell. If you're fond of traveling and collecting souvenirs of memories made in your various journeys, you'll delight in seeing the soul we hoped could be in our home when we get to where Ellie and H are in their life.
No review for Tiny Fern can be complete without acknowledging the phenomenal breakfast that was provided to us daily. Ellie and H were well aware of our dietary restrictions and never made us feel like a burden to them. Ellie asked us time and again about what we can and can't eat, after independently studying our religious beliefs and was incredibly excited about trying out new recipes that she had looked up specially for us. Needless to say, we were more than happy to be the guinea pigs. And the blueberry on the delicious citrus yogurt - breakfast every morning was followed by enriching conversations with the wonderful couple while the hours just flew by.
Of all the services or products we've reviewed in our lifetime, we've never felt more strongly recommending something. Do yourself a favor and book this fairy tale getaway for yourself, or for you and a loved one. You're giving yourself an escape from the (often) maddening world we live in, and you'll be surrounded by two calming souls that will shower you with love and make you feel a deep sense of gratification for life.
We will, without a doubt, come back time and again. In many ways, this getaway was the beginning of what we hope becomes a lifelong journey of love, companionship and true happiness.
Warm wishes Ellie and H - Sagar and Jahnvi
