The space

"A treehouse, a freehouse, a secret you and me house, a high up in the leafy branches, cosy as can be house" -- Shel Silverstein

The treehouse is indeed a cozy little place perched on four maples 30 feet above a blanket of ferns. Access is by a ramp 70 ft. from the main house, where you'll have a private bathroom with shower. This quiet place in the woods has heat, electricity, and a small refrigerator. The main floor has a single bed, or CLIMB THE LADDER to the loft with a queen sized futon and down comforter. Enjoy the comfy reading rocker or sit on the deck and gaze at Mt. Abraham and the Green Mountain National Forest. The hot tub is a relaxing year-round spa under the stars.

For those less adventurous, there is a guestroom in the main house with a double bed. We have no pets and are very neat and tidy but you may bring your dog (with advance notice). All linens and complimentary toiletries are provided, and you'll enjoy a generous continental breakfast in the sunny dining room in the morning.
We are no longer accepting guests under the age of 5.

H and Ellie, are wonderful host. Our stay at the Tiny Fern Forest Treehouse was nothing short of amazing. The finer details such as fresh home made cookies, hand drawn welcome picture on a chalk board, breathe taking views, are only the tip of the iceberg.

My daughter and I spent the night here two years ago and absolutely loved it. This time, I gave an overnight here to my best friend and her mother as a gift, knowing it was jus their style. When they returned, the first thing my friend did was get on her knees and bow down to me to thank me for their extraordinary experience! They lived everything about it and could not have been more delighted by E and H.

Staying at the Tree House was a lot of fun. H and Ellie were fantastic hosts and made us feel right at home. The Tree House is a perfect getaway for those looking to be among the natural elements while still having the accommodations of a B&B with great hosts. Ultimately, you are free to come and go as you please while staying here, but the hosts are very nice people to get to know as well. Great beer, conversation, and of course, waffles!

What an amazing weekend we had staying at this lovely home, not only was the tree house exactly what we were expecting, but our hosts were incredible. Ellie and H were very sweet and cared for all of our needs. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, we also enjoyed a glass of wine and some snacks on our first night. We truly enjoyed getting to know Ellie and H, they are both very focused on details which made our stay so much more special! I would highly recommend this beautiful tree house!

Response from Harrison:
We enjoyed getting to know you both and learning about the ancient civilizations of Peru. Now we're planning a visit to Machu Picchu. Maybe we'll see you there! Thank you for staying with us and for your generous spirits.

Ellie was a high school English teacher for 25 years and was an Associate Professor at Spalding University in the MFA Writing program. She has five books in print. We designed and built this house 12 years ago. Son Will and H built the treehouse over the course of three summers. H was also a high school teacher and retired in 2009. Your stay in the treehouse includes a generous continental breakfast, a private bath, spa privileges, and a quiet place to relax.
