The space

"A treehouse, a freehouse, a secret you and me house, a high up in the leafy branches, cosy as can be house" -- Shel Silverstein

The treehouse is indeed a cozy little place perched on four maples 30 feet above a blanket of ferns. Access is by a ramp 70 ft. from the main house, where you'll have a private bathroom with shower. This quiet place in the woods has heat, electricity, and a small refrigerator. The main floor has a single bed, or CLIMB THE LADDER to the loft with a queen sized futon and down comforter. Enjoy the comfy reading rocker or sit on the deck and gaze at Mt. Abraham and the Green Mountain National Forest. The hot tub is a relaxing year-round spa under the stars.

For those less adventurous, there is a guestroom in the main house with a double bed. We have no pets and are very neat and tidy but you may bring your dog (with advance notice). All linens and complimentary toiletries are provided, and you'll enjoy a generous continental breakfast in the sunny dining room in the morning.

The place was very peaceful. The Treehouse great place to get away, especially with the fall colors. Harrison was a wonderful host and cooked us a great breakfast.

We live 40 minutes up the road in South Burlington and chose this easy to get to staycation for some relaxation in the woods away from the "city". absolutely loved our stay. H's kindness, his delicious breakfasts, and the wonderful hot tub with a view of Mount Abe added to the magic of the charming Tiny Fern Forest Treehouse. The stay will be something we will always remember.

The Tiny Fern Treehouse is truly a magical place. The treehouse itself is both cozy and whimsical with delightful views of foliage and wildlife. Seeing Mt. Abe from the jacuzzi was stunning. We were treated to delicious breakfasts and received great recommendations from local hikes to adventures in Burlington (the Farmer's Market was really something to see!) After years of hosting folks, H and Ellie have seemingly thought of everything to make your stay comfortable and memorable.

What can we say about this wonderful place that hasn't already been said? Suffice to say, we've been using Airbnb since 2013 and have stayed in over 40 locations in that time...but this one tops them all by far and without question. We loved our stay and we will be back to Vermont mostly because of our introduction to the state with this weekend.

The treehouse was lovely and my wife and I had a great time here. H and Ellie went above and beyond as hosts, helping to accommodate our young son and our dog during our stay. We also made it in fairly late and H was still up to greet us. They cook quite a good breakfast too!

Ellie was a high school English teacher for 25 years and was an Associate Professor at Spalding University in the MFA Writing program. She has five books in print. We designed and built this house 12 years ago. Son Will and H built the treehouse over the course of three summers. H was also a high school teacher and retired in 2009. Your stay in the treehouse includes a generous continental breakfast, a private bath, spa privileges, and a quiet place to relax.
