This is a traditional cave house that is situated on the cliffs of Oia, Santorini, and more specifically in the neighborhood of St.Spyridon. This house is amongst the top privileged ones, having a stunning view over the caldera, a breathtaking scenery that most of us have enjoyed only through postcards or advertising imagery. To add to that, it is located right on the side of the most photographed church, St. Spyridons’, the one with the 2 blue domes.
The house is 83sqm and features a huge veranda of 43sqm.
It consists of three bedrooms, one of which is a fully autonomous master bedroom, a large vaulted living room, bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen. It can comfortably accommodate 7 people, whether couples or families with children or even large groups of friends. It has three double beds and one single bed.
The residence is decorated with beautiful antique furniture.
This is a self catering accommodation.
Amenities provided: towels, bed linen.
We loved our visit to Santorini and our stay at the Blue Dome House. The location and view are unbeatable and amazing. The photos are EXACTLY what you will experience.
The house is very functional, but could benefit from more airflow. The kitchen is very small, but you can do what you need in there... but only 1 person at a time.
The drawback of the location is that it is very popular with the photographers and tourists. You could always tell when a bus arrived in Oia from the cruise ships because there would be several people around the house (and on top of the house) taking photos. At one point we counted 4 wedding couples getting their wedding pictures taken at and around the house (at one time)...amazing! My wife liked this because she likes people watching and it was like the people came to her... I was not as impressed.
Overall, I would definitely stay at the Blue Dome House again, and we will take away many great memories of our week there!

Our experience in Santorini was absolutely fantastic and the Bluedome house is an utterly charming place, which looks just like the pictures suggest. I've never had such an incredible view and it was a superb base for exploring this magical island. I'll just mention a few things that aren't entirely clear in the listing, which are not complaints, but just useful things to know: there is actually only one entirely private bedroom, with a double bed, the other two bedrooms are open to each other and connect directly (with no door) to the long main room. This just means that if you're three couples sharing, two couples will have relatively little privacy - it's important to be good friends. Also on the privacy note, as already mentioned in other reviews, the terrace is overlooked by a busy pedestrian street where visitors from dawn til dusk stand to take photos, which can sometimes be very annoying! The other thing, that I had missed, is that there's no wireless here. Not a huge deal, but at these prices, I'd expect it to be included, as it's such an essential of life. However, these two minor things don't stop me from recommending what is definitely one of the most memorable houses I have ever stayed in. Go!
The Bluedome was a great place to stay, so loved the location. Very well decorated with antiques, and the highlight of the house is the huge patio. Location is great, except being next to the famous Blue Dome does invite the many tourists to doorstep. Armand was so helpful, met us on time, and helped us with our bags. Best host I have had using Airbnb. Highly recommend this place.

This spacious home has one of the best views and location in Oia
It is close to all the shops and restaurants.....and the view is AMAZING!!!
The large deck allows you to enjoy hours of looking over the blue ocean while sipping a glass of wine. The home itself has everything you need but could use a little TLC.
Having the washing machine was a bonus. Our host Armand was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.
We would go back there and recommend it to our friends.
Our stay in Bluedome Cave House was fantastic. The best view I have ever seen in my life. Oia is the best place to stay, as your are close to everything. Renting a car is much easier to sightsee the rest of the island. I highly recommend this house for a wonderful vacation!
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
What a special place. They patio was full of sun and the inside was full of sun. I went in March and the town of Oia is very quiet. There was only a few places to eat open at that time of year and the kitchen is quite basic. For a cave house it is very spacious and the bedrooms were nice. I went with my 4 year old daughter and she loved the place. There is also a hiking trail down to the water, which was her and my highlight. I was very happy with the experience.
Staying at Bluedome Cave House exceeded our expectations. While we were there the professional photographers parked on the roof above us to take THE iconic Santorini photos of the Bluedome view. You will see this location on all the postcards - and this is THE VIEW right outside your door! The bedrooms and bath were spacious. We were grateful with a toddler to have a microwave in the kitchen. The kitchen was equipped with what we needed although a very tight fit for more than 2 persons at a time. We prepared most of our meals in that kitchen and it worked out fine. We particularly enjoyed having our meals on the large patio overlooking the caldera. I highly recommend renting a car to explore the island. It was very difficult to leave on the day of our departure as we felt the Bluedome Cave House was the highlight of our trip to Greece.
We arrived in Santorini from Athens, the flight was super short and the airport very close to the Oia, I hightly recommend renting a car, or else it is very difficult to move freely around the island, I dont know if its the same in summer, but I felt sorry for many japanese tourist that were just waiting for a bus for hrs. Upon we were greeted by Armand, the caretaker of the house, who kindly helped us to carry our lugagge down many steps to the place (travel lightly). And although the day was a bit cloudy becasue it's winter, the view was absolutely breath taking! The place is gorgeous. We entered the house, that seemed like a little cave from the outside, and found a charming traditional, beautifully decorated, authentic cave house! It was fantastic. Had just the space we needed for 4 people, each couple their side of the house, one of the rooms is almost completely independant. The kitchen is tiny but we managed to cook meals there almost every day, it has everything you need to cook, the fridge is big. The terrace is huge and nice to lounge around and just drink wine, eat olives and enjoy the view of the meditarranean and all the cats chasing around. Armand and his son were super helpful, (they live in the house next door) and I feel in love with their dog Lordy, for whom I ended up buying a flea collar because the poor thing was scratching all the time. He had a merry Christmas too! Be ware that if you go in winter you will be there practically on your own, most places in the island are closed, almost all restaurants and shops, it does tend to get a bit chilly, specially because it is very humid. We did manage to find a great place to have Christmas dinner at quite close to the house, that was lovely. The overall experience of our stay was fantastic, we caught a couple of days of sun, enough to appreciate what Santorini is probably like in summer, absolutely gorgeous, but we actually enjoyed the quiet calmness of a place so popular in summer but with CERO turists in winter, we had it all to owrselves! Santorin and the Bluedome will remain in our travel hitlist forever. Hope to go back some day! Best, V
It's like living in a postcard! Plenty of space, a terrific terrace and quaint kitchen ideal for re-creating your favourite Greek dishes.
