The property is in an excellent (email hidden)ose to bus stops that will take you directly to Dongzhumein. Fro this station you can get airport express and buses to Mutianyu (great wall of China). This place is close embassies so you can find lots of non-chinese eateries and pubs too.
Miyo is an excellent host and person.... She was extremely helpful all through the trip. She even helped us with bullet train booking.
Miyo's studio was in a very good location! It's in the Sanlitun area of Beijing, and within a few minutes walk from the studio are a ton of restaurants, bars, and shopping malls. We stayed for 4 weeks and we were still discovering new places to eat at on the very last night. The studio itself is just like the pictures. It is very spacious for two people and very new and clean. The kitchen is basic but has just enough equipment to cook simple meals (though you may not want to cook with all the dining choices around!). The wireless connection is also pretty fast. Miyo was a great host and communication was good. We had a few problems, such as the hot water shutting off, and Miyo always resolved them quickly.
The place was in a good location and fairly easy access to subway. No complaints about the place other than the fact the shower required mopping up after each use and the wifi password was wrong so required some calls back and forth. Miyo was very friendly - if you choose to stay here in future make sure to get good directions and the address in Mandarin.
Miyo was a great host. Her description of the studio was accurate. There were a few minor things that got in the way, for example, an issue with not having any hot water and the room was still being occupied when we checked in. Other than that, everything was fine. Would definitely give her place another try. Thank you Miyo for all the help. Cheers!
"Hot water"- usually take 5 mins to refill, it finished at new year's eve when no one working in the refill office. I didn't see it coming it's my bad, I'm so sorry Jason!
"being occupied"- It was a suitcase in the flat belong to previous guest who checked out same day as Jason checked in, his flight was taking off in the evening, I can't let him go sight seeing with carrying a suitcase.
The flat itself is very comfortable. Shower water was plenty warm and amenities in the room match that from a mid-to-top tier hotel room.
The host was extremely responsive and helpful.
However, the host switched us to this studio a few days before the trip. The studio would have been perfect for 2 people, but it was too small for 3 people. Even though there was a roll-out bed, it was way too small to have a good night of sleep.
The first day, shower did not have warm water. Called the host, and they purchased additional hot water.
Then the last day (out of a 3-day stay), they ran out of electricity. Host did respond right away and I was able to help purchase the electricity from a nearby office - the host promptly reimbursed me the cost of the electricity right away too.
The location is okay. It's close to downtown, but it's in the upcoming Santun district (kinda like SOHO in the US), so it has a lot of trendy bars and restaurants, which isn't very useful for someone interested in sight seeing. Also it's not within walking distance to any subway station, so we ended up taking taxi everywhere which was not too bad since it's only 3 days. Also getting back to the place by taxi can be challenging as most drivers did not know how to find the place right away.
Overall, a good staying experience, but if you are traveling with families for sight-seeing over a longer period of time, I would find something that's closer to subway stations as taxi can be hard to find in Beijing and the roads are always congested.
