  • My stay was great from start to finish - Paul was a great communicator before I arrived, and a really pleasant host.

The house itself was really nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and spacious, and the room large and double bed comfortable.

Canton itself is a 15-20 minute walk from the station - I walked it when I arrived which was fine, and cabs into the Bay area were inexpensive with a handy taxi rank nearby.

Anyone looking to stay in Cardiff I would definitely recommend staying here - like staying in a really nice hotel but with a friendly personal touch. Will be back when I visit next.

  • I stayed with Sian and Paul whilst visiting Cardiff over a weekend. Their house is absolutely lovely, with warm tones and beautiful wood floors throughout the common areas. I had a comfortable room, and appreciated the extra touches like a bathrobe and a place to hang my clothes. As for my hosts, Sian and Paul are fun, friendly, and welcoming. I arrived as a stranger and when I left, I left a surrogate family behind. We enjoyed many laughs and they listened patiently to my stories of travel and shopping. I’m already planning my visit back to see more of Cardiff and surrounding areas, and anticipate staying with them again.

Cardiff was a lovely place to explore for the weekend. Allow the suggested 20 minutes to walk into town for any sightseeing appointments you might have booked. Sian and Paul live within 5 minutes of a Tesco’s and a main shopping area with loads of restaurants at a variety of price points and food for every palate.

I highly recommend staying with Sian and Paul!

  • Meeting Paul and Sian was definitely one of the highlights of my recent holiday to the UK. They welcomed my sister and I with open arms into their breathtaking home in Cardiff. Despite the damp weather, they made us feel warm and welcome in their city.

Their home is impeccably restored and situated a mere 10 minute walk from the center of town. Upon arriving, we dropped our bags and took a stroll down to have high tea inside Cardiff Castle! (A *must* for those visiting the area.) After sightseeing and shopping the rest of the afternoon, we returned home to share the stories of our day with our hosts.

We all stayed up late talking and laughing into the night over hot chocolate...discussing everything from US politics to global warming to ship building! When we finally retired to our beds tired and happy, I couldn't have been more pleased with my cozy attic room nestled over the rooftops of Cardiff.

The next morning we were greeted with fresh fruit, cereal, homebaked bread, and the best French-press coffee we had during the whole of our trip to Europe.

Upon leaving, I checked my email at the airport to find that Paul had already sent me an note offering to post me my phone charger, which I had left behind.

There are many hosts who can make you feel welcome, but few who can truly make you feel like family. If you are looking to travel in Cardiff, don't even consider staying anywhere else. This is the place!

  • Paul and Sian were absolutely lovely hosts and their home was both gorgeous and impeccably tidy. They were most welcoming, helpful and accommodating. Paul offered a filling and quality breakfast of homemade wheat & rye bread, muesli, jams, fresh fruit and an egg (if desired) each morning. My room was very spacious and comfortable. If you're looking for a home away from home during your visit to Cardiff, this is the place!

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Paul's for two nights. He contacted us before our arrival with the necessary information to get to his flat without problems.
He was very friendly and chatty and has this great file with places to eat and see.
The house is beautiful and the bed very comfy. We recommend staying here.

    Response from Paul:

Thank you thats a lovely review. P

  • Paul and Sian have a beautiful home in central Cardiff. They were incredibly hospitable and welcoming. The house is truly wonderful and the breakfasts and sightseeing advice were right on the money! The loft room was particularly great to sleep in, complete with blackout blinds! Highly recommended!

  • I couldn't pick a better weather to stay in Cardiff to run the half marathon. I needed somewhere close to the city center and quiet for a good night sleep! I couldn't find a better place, immaculately presented, spacious house hosted by Paul & Sian. From the moment I stepped in they made me feel so welcomed I wondered if they were professional 'hoteliers' and I know about hospitality! Every details are thought for you to have a memorable stay (read other reviews) and wouldn't think a minute of looking for somewhere else to stay next time I visit Cardiff.

  • Paul was a fantastic host and his house really is his castle. The house is very clean and in a good location about 10 minutes walk from the centre of Cardiff. He also serves a great breakfast and is easy to talk with. I'd recommend a stay here to absolutely anyone without any hesitation at all!

  • Brilliant, everything just perfect.

A very warm welcome was received from Paul & Sian. The room was lovely and clean with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful with homemade toasted bread, jams and a boiled egg. Fruit and cereal is available too.

The walk into the city is an easy 20 minute stroll and along the way there are plenty of local shops for you to browse or have a bite to eat in.

A photo is a great idea to remember the visit by too.

Overall I would have no hesitation in recommending this lovely home for your visit to Cardiff.
