  • The location is great. It is situated 2 minutes away from Mong Kok Station, exit E1. 7-11 convenient is just across the road and quite a few tea restaurants (cha chaan teng) only a few foot steps away from the building. The apartment building has a 24-hour security system with pin access to the building. Moreover, security guard stationed at the lobby around the clock to ensure safety of the residents. The apartment is also secured with wooden door and metal gate.

I traveled with a wheelchair-bound member and the apartment is totally convenient for us. There is elevator and no stairs in front of the building’s front door. Though the corridor is a bit narrow for the wheelchair to make a u-turn, there is no difficulty in getting in and out of the apartment.

The size of the apartment is small but reasonable for an apartment in Hong Kong. Even with the sofa bed pulled out, the wheelchair can still travel forward and backward independently. Though it requires transferring to a stool for bathing and get to the master bedroom’s bed, the apartment still considered suitable for wheelchair user even we have seven adults in total. We dumped our luggage in the kitchen as we did not usually use that sector, making more space for us. Otherwise, there are wardrobe in the master bedroom and many ceiling shelves in the second bedroom and living room.

The only setback is there is only one bathroom. But most of the rented apartment hosted in Airbnb provides only one bathroom as well. Those with two or more bathroom usually very expensive. Luckily it was winter season during our visit and was too cold to bathe, we took turn to use the bathroom. Not a big issue. But if someone is having a stomache while the bathroom is occupied, do not have to worry, Langham Place, a shopping mall with clean toilet, is just 1 minute jog away.

Lastly, the customer service is excellent. Due to travel delay and communication breakdown, we were late by an hour and Mark skipped his lunch, standing near the MTR exit and wait for us. When we reached, he still greet us with politeness and walked us to the apartment. He ensure that my family member in wheelchair can get in and out of the apartment and make sure everything was settled before he made a move. During the day of our return, he even offered to help with our luggage when he sees there was only two ladies and a man working with 3 luggage and a 6-7 backpacks. Though we rejected his kind offer.

Overall, I am a satisfied customer.

Note: It would be more effective if communicate in Mandarin/Chinese

  • Mark was easy enough to deal with, responded quicker than other potential HK hosts. We only saw him on arrival for several minutes. Very nice/friendly.
We left booking accommodation very late, so had limited choices -- with 6-8people (including 3children under five) over the Xmas holiday period, for 13nights, and wanted to stick to a budget.
Apartment has GREAT location (as advertised).
It is very, very basic. No hairdryer. Jug provided... but no mugs for tea/coffee (bring your own).
2bedrooms each have brand new nice comfy double beds. However sofa bed was really lumpy (we lay down a spare mattress over it to make it sleep-able). The bunk bed was NOT comfortable (mattresses too thin).
No curtains at all, so still quite light at night.
For Mongkok, bedroom sizes fair enough, and the living room, actually spacious enough for 3 children to spread out their building blocks and play contently.
Bathroom: a shock for a kiwi currently living in suburbia -- just a toilet, small hand basin, and a handheld shower head above the basin. First morning, we had cold showers as no one had explained to turn on the switch for hot water. We saw the odd tiny ant in the bathroom, by the end their numbers were increasing.
Wi-fi was good, perhaps a little slow on several occasions.

The apartment is actually part of a budget hotel ((website hidden) the street address to see their website) and is up 5 flights of stairs (NO lift), these we did not realise until checking in. They did help us take our heavy luggage up :)
24 hour desk downstairs where you can exchange your dirty towels daily. They lent us a double plug so we could turn on the fridge. We were instructed to throw out our trash to the public trash can on the street.
One lady at the front desk was a treasure, very friendly/helpful (we had only basic Cantonese). She even did 2 loads of laundry for us for next to nothing, as laundrette around the corner was never open. When we asked for a broom, she came up to clean and brought fresh linen to change all the bedding (one-week into our stay).
Overall, compared to the cramped "4-star" hotel we stayed in TST about 3years ago, for the price/size, suits 3 adults, 3 children fine. Could be cleaned more throughly for our arrival. Needs a spruce up, a new bathroom, a new mirror, a new sofa bed, new/thicker bunk mattresses, but I would be content to stay again.
Really handy to Mongkok MTR, use Exit C (Shanghai St) and walk past the amazing cakes/pastries at Langham Mall. Handy to sneaker&electronics streets, and Ladies Market (which is flanked by great food places). Japanese restaurant around the corner (2doors from KFC, level 1), was also a favourite, good food at food court prices, but no crazy crowds. 7-11 & busy congee place just downstairs.

  • we stayed at Mark apartment for 6 days. the location was very good . however the place is too small for 7 persons as mentioned. one tip for future customer going there:travel very light. the apparment looked full only with suitcases.
Another thing which we were not happy with there were no cups at all, for morning tea or coffee and the kettle we were provided with was not working. we only got a new kettle 2 days before we leave. Overhall it was okay but for maxi 4 - 5 persons

  • The room is just as advertised, GREAT location, and very clean.

The only difficulty I had is the communication, since I know no Cantonese and I'm also not getting used to the English accent there It's hard to understand when we're talking via phone.
But once you meet him and talk to him in person, there's nothing to worry about.

I'll definitely stay at this place again.
    Thank you, Mark

  • The host is good to get someone to meet us at the apartment at early morning when we arrive in Hong Kong abt 2am.

Location is good and near Mongkok MTR, shopping malls, ladies street and also nice eating places. But sad to say the room is too small for 5 people, definitely good for 3 people.

There was once when the lift needs maintenance so poor us need to climb all the ways up to level 14! Definitely not for elders! It might be good if the host can get the security guard to inform us of the lift maintenance in advance.

Need to improve in responding to guests' enquiries through WhatsApp and messages. Maybe it is just us.

Overall, we will give a 6/10.

  • Mark has been absolutely accommodating and awesome to work with! He whatsapp me days before the stay to ensure things are ok. He checks into status when I land to ensure I arrive at the right place. Our flight was delayed and he was kind enough to wait for us for three hours! While the kitchen was not properly function then, he brought a rice cooker for me knowing that I had to cook for my toddler. He also bought a bathtub for my son! The personal touch by mark overwhelms the small size of the apartment.
Apartment is very centrally located. It is just across a street from langham and great place of food just below the apartment. Love the location ! Don't expect too much for the room though. It is a very typical apartment size when you only have walking space. If you are expecting langham type of size, go spend that money. Mark place is small, but compact for travelers who prefer to spend time in the city. Wifi and tv are all working perfectly.
I wouldn't recommend for young children due to lack of runnin space but def for young couples who just want to have a place to rest , near to everywhere and a great host to work with!

  • Mark is flexible with the check-in/check-out time with no additional charges. Location is OK and take about 7 mins walk from exit B of MTR Yao Ma Tei. Actually this unit was located at Canton Road(广东道). Mark can easy to reach by phone.

There are some weaknesses. The washroom is very small and not so comfortable (small hand basin, running out of hot water due to small water tank). Kettle not function properly although had replaced another one.

Overall, we will give a 5/10.

  • Mark is easy to talk with. He was flexible with the check-in / check-out time. He even brought us additional blankets and pillow when we requested for it. I will recommend Mark to families who are looking for a comfortable, easily accessible, secured and yet affordable flat to stay in while in Mongkok, Kowloon. It is at the center of everything.
