Hello! Please check out the photos on my other listing of the same house (in my profile). The pictures on this account need updating, as we have done some work on the house and yard to make it a bit more spectacular!
Top reasons people stay here (and come back):
1.) Best view of Santa Cruz Mountains ever.
2.) My obsession with birds has lead to many feeders, and lots of finches, turkeys, hummingbirds, and even a hawks nest.
3.) Santa Cruz hotels are pretty nasty and expensive and in poor areas of town. My house is private and has a great vibe about it.
4.) We just installed a huge bocce court in the back yard, we have a nice pool table, and on not windy days summer days, we have a ping pong table out. Cool to relax at home.
5.) There is a million things to do within a few miles. Beaches, zip lines in the redwoods at Mount Hermon, many parks with hiking, restaurants, Loch Lomond, wine tasting, horseback riding, and much more. Born and raised here, I can give you guidance of cool stuff to see and do- Santa Cruz is so much more then a Boardwalk!
6.) There is about 10 places to sit and read a book or magazines, undisturbed to the sound of the forrest. We are so fortunate to enjoy the solitude on the hill.
The rooms we host in are the ones with the pinball machine, and the one with the pots on a shelf on the wall.
15 minutes from UCSC. 20 minutes from Beach. 10 minutes from Henry Coewell State Park. Feel like your a thousand miles from anyone. This house is situated high on a hill, no neighbors to see. Yet just 5 minutes off highway 9. Outside of the Santa Cruz "fog belt," sunny most months of the year. Join us for Open Studios in October!
Panoramic views of mountains, Scotts Valley, and Felton. 3 bedroom, 3 bath, 2600 sf. Ten acres. Gated driveway, house has state-of-the-art alarm, for further ease of mind. Two huge decks for sunning, both with jaw dropping views of the mountains. Features full kitchen with nice appliances, two outdoor eating areas, two indoor dining areas, pool table with plasma tv, TV with satellite in room, wireless internet. Sprawling lawns, various roses, heirloom tomatoes, even fresh organic eggs from my chickens. Parking is off street, and gated. Yoga room. Laundry. Pick up some take-out, and sit outside on the decks and enjoy the the outdoor speakers on both decks and all living areas. Seasonally decorated (love goofy holiday decor!).
Huge and awesome Cal-King bed. Beautiful views. Private and clean. Next to large and clean red bathroom. Dresser to place your things. 42" TV with Dish Hopper service, view of woods, overlaying mountain ranges, birds, bocce, and veggie garden. Normally I only have one extra room rented, meaning you would have exclusive use of the bath. However, I sometimes have friends or an addtional airbnb guest, and in those times the bathroom would be shared.
TOT included in price (county tax).
Justin and Jayce are super nice. There house is amazing!! It is so comfortable and welcoming. Justin and Jayce are so flexible and relaxed. If you are in this area you definitely have to stay with them. Best airbnb experience!!
Justin is an exemplary host! He is quick to respond, friendly, and very accommodating. Everything was in perfect shape for my arrival (on a holiday for that matter) and Justin answered all my questions before I even knew I had any. Perfection!
This was my first time using airbnb and I could not have asked for a better experience! Justin and Jay were amazing hosts. They went above and beyond in all aspects. Their place is beautiful! It's quiet, comfortable and super clean. This place is a hidden gem.
Justin had a long list of things to do in the area. He's a great resource and always helpful
It will be hard to top this experience and I highly recommend Justin's house to anyone looking for a wondeful place to stay in Ben Lomond.
Beautiful home, in a beautiful location. Exactly the relaxing get away we were looking for. Justin was a great host and we had a great time talking with him. We will go back!
I was an early AirBnB host, and have rented my entire apartment in SF out numerous times - but this was my first guest experience! I needed a place last minute and all the hotels at a reasonable price in Santa Cruz were booked due to the half-marathon. I bit the bullet and decided to plunge into the world of showing up at a stranger's residence and sleeping in a stranger's bed -- big move for someone of my somewhat-antisocial/anxious temperament! I can highly recommend Justin as a host and his home as a unique spot to spend a few nights in the Santa Cruz mountains.
Justin's place was BEAUTIFUL. He and Jaye were great hosts and made my few hours there a real joy. I was beat from a full days worth of hiking but had some food and drink with them before retiring in the clean, extremely comfortable bedroom. I am a very sensitive, light sleeper, and usually wake up early due to this-or-that, but slept in until 9am!
Justin and Jaye will love to tell you all about Santa Cruz and their experiences growing up in the area, and direct you towards recreational and other activities. Their home is perched up top a hill and has beautiful views at night of three of the surrounding mountain cities below. The house has plenty of amenities and it's very homey. I look forward to returning someday.
My girlfriend and I decided to try airbnb for the first time this weekend, and we had a great time at Justin's amazing property!! Justin (and Jaye) were terrific hosts. The house and entire property were impressive, beautiful, very clean, and extra comfortable. As we drove up the driveway we were greeted by two deers! We were a little nervous at first never having done airbnb, but after spending just a few minutes with Justin and Jaye, we were quickly at ease. They are both really friendly and easy going- can't imagine anyone not getting along with them. There was another couple in the other room and we all had a good time hanging out, having a few drinks, and playing some pool. I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area and we will definitely be back!!!
We had an amazing time at this place. The house is situated on top of a hill and the views on all sides are beautiful. We loved being loony with the house dog and the turkeys and finches are fun to watch through the day. The property is a stone throw away from state parks but its just as much fun relaxing at home. We played pool at the pool table inside the house. The room was comfortable and cozy. Justin is a lot of fun to talk to and ensured our stay was a comfortable one.
Justin is the perfect host! His place is AMAZING. Spectacular views of the surroundings from the very top of the mountain. Deer coming onto the lawn in the early morning, birds of every description, and the crisp mountain air. It couldn't be more perfect. Sitting out on the deck in the evening, enjoying a bottle of wine, and watching the stars come out. And just a 20-minute drive into Santa Cruz. Perfect weekend getaway.
Never got to meet Justin, but our correspondence and phone convos were super sweet and helpful. He made sure we were able to check in ourselves and he left the place looking wonderful for us. He even left a bottle of wine for my girlfriend's birthday! What a nice guy! And the place is amazing! Beautiful and scenic, tucked away enough that we felt we were lost in the forest, but close enough to Santa Cruz to be able to drive to the beach in minutes! What a wonderful experience! We will definitely stay there again and will recommend to all of our friends! Thanks, Justin!!!
My husband and I just returned from a weekend at Justin's beautiful property. The pictures do not come close to showing the incredible views! Justin and Jaye were lovely hosts, very welcoming and friendly, yet we had plenty of privacy. The bed was super-comfortable, and the fresh flowers and candle in our room were thoughtful touches. Loved the restful, rejuvinating outdoor spaces, spotlessly clean house, green smoothie, and of course, the lovely chickens. Ben Lomond is a great little town; I could have spent hours at the uber-charming Mountain Feed and Farm Supply Store. ;) We would not hesitate to stay again. Thanks for everything, Justin & Jaye! xo, Dawn & Randy
