We love to share our home, views, pups, hot tub, decks, trees, and peace and quiet with you. Close to town, but worlds away. Located a few miles from several parks/hiking trails. Twenty minutes from the beach. We have one of the most green listings, we pump our water and power our home via solar panels on site. We do have 5 bar cell reception and blazing fast internet that works inside the house and outside on the patios. Please read through our listing and message if you have questions.

Please check out the photos on my other listing of the same house (in my profile called "heaven on earth").
Top reasons people stay here (and come back):
1.) Best view of Santa Cruz Mountains ever. With two decks that are bigger then most apartments, you can choose to sit on our front deck and float high above the valley with views downtown Felton. OR you can chill on the back beck with a fire-pit table and the most stunning outline of distant mountain ranges, as hundred foot trees dance as the breeze blows.
2.) My obsession with birds has lead to many feeders, and lots of finches, turkeys, hummingbirds, and even a hawks nest. My best compliment from a guest- I've never been anywhere in the mountains where the hummingbirds outnumber the mosquitos!
3.) Hot tub on a cliff. Best place in the WORLD to float among the tree limbs (like a bird). Sunrise central.
4.) Santa Cruz hotels are incredibly expensive, laden with unending traffic, and in poor areas of town. My house is private, light and airy.
5.) We have a regulation size bocce court in the back yard, a pool table, corn hole, and occasionally, we have a ping pong table out. Cool to relax at home.
6.) There is a million things to do within a few miles. Beaches, zip lines in the redwoods at Mount Hermon, many parks with hiking, restaurants, Loch Lomond, wine tasting, horseback riding, and much more. Born and raised here, I can give you guidance of cool stuff to see and do- Santa Cruz is so much more then a Boardwalk!
7.) There is about 10 places to sit and read a book or magazines, undisturbed to the sound of the forrest. We are so fortunate to enjoy the solitude on the hill.
The rooms we host in are the ones with the pinball machine, and the one with the pots on a shelf on the wall.
15 minutes from UCSC. 20 minutes from Beach. 10 minutes from Henry Coewell State Park. Feel like your a thousand miles from anyone. This house is situated high on a hill, no neighbors to see. Yet just 5 minutes off highway 9. Outside of the Santa Cruz "fog belt," sunny most months of the year. Join us for Open Studios in October!
Panoramic views of mountains, Scotts Valley, and Felton. 3 bedroom, 3 bath, 2600 sf. 20+ acres. Gated driveway, house has state-of-the-art alarm, for further ease of mind. Two huge decks for sunning, both with jaw dropping views of the mountains. Features full kitchen with nice appliances, two outdoor eating areas, two indoor dining areas, pool table, TV with satellite in room, wireless internet that works inside the house and outside. Sprawling lawns, various roses, heirloom tomatoes, even fresh organic eggs from my chickens. Parking is off street, and gated. Yoga room. Laundry. Pick up some take-out, and sit outside on the decks and enjoy the the outdoor speakers on both decks and all living areas. Seasonally decorated (love goofy holiday decor!).
Huge and awesome Cal-King bed. Beautiful views. Private and clean. Next to large and clean red bathroom. Dresser to place your things. 50" LED TV with Dish Hopper service, view of woods, overlaying mountain ranges, birds, bocce, and veggie garden. Normally I only have one extra room rented, meaning you would have exclusive use of the bath. However, I sometimes have friends or an addtional airbnb guest, and in those times the bathroom would be shared.
We do have video surveillance all over the property- of course it is not in your room or bathroom.
Please don't go in our bedroom, office or garage. We keep our clutter there! Also, be kind and respect our neighbors if you walk around the property.
Interaction with guests
Up to our guests. We can kind of sense when people want to be left alone. Mostly I work, so I won't bug you.
Enjoy yourself and remember that every stay impacts our house in ways that are vastly different then city homes. We live off this hill. We produce power via solar panels. We have a well, no option to connect to city water. We live on a septic system.
Be mindful and try to conserve where you can.
Nothing can go down the drains, use trash cans for everything.
No shoe house.
Please do not go in master bedroom, office, or garage (these are my clutter dens).
We do not eat red meat (beef or pork), tortured food and would prefer it not cooked in the kitchen/outdoor BBQ.
Please don't use my copper pots, fancy glasses, items that are gold or crystal. No knives in the dishwasher.
Toilets in the mountains are VERY different from the city. With a septic, it can require very costly maintenance when mistreated (not to mention us not being able to live here until it is serviced). Please throw away wipes, girly things, excess toilet paper, condoms, paper towels, etc into the trash cans. Only LITTLE amounts of toilet paper can do down our drains.
If you visit the chickens, make sure the door is shut and locked when you leave them.
Make sure the gates to the gardens are closed so the deer don't get in.
Our hot tub is so relaxing! Help us keep it clean by showering before use. No glass in the tub. Close it when you are done- there is a child lock, do not force the cover closed. Please turn off jets when done. If in doubt about how to operate, please ask.
Check-out time is strict, mostly because we have full-time jobs, and have to get everything clean ourselves and it takes a while.
Please don't bother the neighboring homes. They are not close to our house, and the people who live there are like us- we like privacy and to feel secluded! Respect their spaces please.

Good day! My partner Jaye and our pups Teak & Sam (Smith) look forward to meeting you. We grew up in Ben Lomond and Santa Cruz, and can point out a thousand things to do on your visit. We get along with everyone. Hobbies are house projects, running, food (local produce and heirloom vegetables), computers/electronics, hiking, restaurants, real estate, art appreciation, p90x (need to do more of this), happy hours/wine bars, campy holiday decorations, chicken watching (WAY cooler then a fish tank and you get eggs), museums, and meeting good people.
