Set on 5 acres of Joshua Tree desert, about 7 minutes by car from downtown shops and restaurants

Outdoor living on private desert land

A propane fire pit on the patio with s'mores supplies, a hammock, and a stock tank for cooling off

Incredible stargazing

Guests highlight the stargazing, with many calling the dark night skies a standout part of their stay
Reconnect at this one-of-a-kind off-grid escape. This thoughtfully converted shipping container is designed for guests who want to slow down, unplug a bit & spend real time outdoors. Set on 5 acres of Joshua Tree filled desert, it feels remote & quiet while still being just 7 minutes from downtown Joshua Tree.

Come solo or with your partner or some friends & settle in for evenings around the fire pit under truly dark nights skies. This is a simple stay that leans into the desert experience.

The space
This is an 8' x 30' x 10' shipping container (240 square feet) converted into an off-grid tiny home. There is a large outdoor patio, with three stairs leading to the front and side doors. The container sits on 5 acres of partially fenced desert.

Inside, the main room includes a sofa bed, stove, fridge, sink, kitchen counter, and a mini split HVAC unit. There is one bathroom with a shower, sink, and toilet, plus a separate bedroom with a California king-size bed that fills the space, along with a small cabinet wardrobe. Upper windows in the bedroom let you fall asleep under the stars on clear nights, and yes, the stars really are worth the hype.

Outside, you’ll find a wicker outdoor couch with cushions and a wooden bench that converts into a picnic table, all centered around a propane fire pit. S’mores supplies are provided.

Farther from the container, there’s a hammock and a stock tank that can be filled with hose water for cooling off. There is no hot water option for the stock tank.

The tiny home runs on solar power during the day with battery storage at night and is designed to balance off-grid living with a few modern comforts. Power is limited and meant to be used mindfully, so this stay may not be the best fit for guests expecting unlimited electricity or a fully traditional home setup. For those who enjoy a quieter, unplugged experience and spending more time outside than in, this is part of the charm.

The home is connected to city water, propane, and a septic system. Tap water is safe to drink, and a Brita filter is provided in the fridge.

Expect quiet sunsets, peaceful sunrises, incredible stargazing, and easy access to both Joshua Tree town and the national park.

Feel free to reach out with any questions before booking.

Guest access
The whole space is yours!

Other things to note
If you love glamping, you'll love this. Our solar powered container has all the peace and quiet being off-grid offers, but with a few more modern amenities to help keep you comfortable and connected.

Pet friendly: We allow one well-behaved dog. The fee is $85 per stay. We just ask that they stay off the furniture and that you pick up after them in the yard.

Things to Note/Amenities.

- The stock tank is just that, a stock tank! There's a hose if you want to use it to cool off, but it is not a hot tub.
- This is the high desert. Weather and wildlife can be both extreme and beautiful! For most people, that is the experience they're looking for, for others, it's not their vibe and that is totally fine.
- We do have a relaxing hammock farther out on the property and a propane fueled fire pit on the concrete patio for cozy evenings.
- It brings us joy to create incredible guest experiences, please reach out with anything you need!

Neighborhood highlights

Even though we're only 7 minutes from downtown, the area is very remote with only a few other properties in sight. The paved roads do end before you arrive to the property, but the dirt is pretty flat so no 4 wheel drive required. The dirt roads keep the whole property more private!

I grew up in New York and now call Joshua Tree home. After a year traveling in our camper, we fell in love with the desert’s rhythm and stayed. Hosting began on the road - I now welcome guests to our home and help others with their spaces. I love connecting visitors with the local community. My wellness background helps me create grounded, restorative spaces, and I enjoy introducing guests to sound healing, movement, herbal therapies and more.
