In the heart of the Marina neighborhood. Within 2-5 blocks you will have 40+ restaurants and bars, 3 grocery stores, 2 movie theaters, 2 yoga studios, 1 gym, 2 drug stores, and arguably the best running/biking path in the US (Marina Blvd). You're also be within walking distance (1mi) to the following neighborhoods: Cow Hollow, Russian Hill, Fisherman's Wharf (Ghirardelli Square!), the Presidio and Pacific Heights.
The Marina is flat and 100% walk / bike friendly. 2 bikes are included with your rental! The apartment is 2 blocks from the center of vibrant Chestnut Street but it is also 3 blocks from the marina (beach), where you can walk along the Bay admiring views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz Island, Palace of Fine Arts and the mountains of Marin. In addition, it is just a 45 minute drive to Napa/Sonoma wine country. Two blocks from the apartment there are 2 bus stops that run busses catering to all neighborhoods of the city. We don't recommend bringing a car, but we can help you get a SF visitor permit if necessary.
Cats and dogs are welcome but we ask that they stay off the furniture and that you clean up the patio throughout your stay. The washer/dryer in the garage is for the exclusive use of our unit. Please use the front door, not the garage door to enter & exit the apartment. There is no smoking allowed.
View from living room and a peek into the kitchen nook (the walls are NOT actually pink!)
Stephanie and Tyler are great communicators and staying at their place was easy from start to finish. We wanted to be near the water/running trail/GG bridge and the location is perfect for that--the flat Marina neighborhood is a plus when traveling with a baby, stroller and lots of related gear, and you can walk up into the hillier neighborhoods nearby for your steep SF fix. The apartment is quiet and cozy with a comfortable bed, and we enjoyed sitting on the patio with a glass of wine while our little guy played. It was also nice to be able to do a load of laundry mid-trip. There are a few things about the apartment that could use refreshing--it's a pet-friendly place and that takes a toll on general cleanliness after a while. But we'd still stay here again! Thanks to the hosts for their helpful suggestions about how to handle the logistics of our trip. P.S. Go to the Dynamo hut at the Marina for great coffee, tea and donuts in the morning. Sit on a bench by the water and do breakfast with a perfect view of the Golden Gate Bridge--so fun!
The garden apartment worked out well while I stayed in SF awaiting the birth of my first grandchild. The location is great for being close to chestnut , and the water. I had my non shedding miniature poodle with me and he enjoyed hiding some favorite toys in the enclosed yard which is nice and bright and a sunny, quiet place to sit. There are no windows in the bedroom so a dark space yet close to washer and dryer in garage. The bed was comfortable. Tyler was very good in reaching out to make sure all was ok when I arrived. I am staying now at another garden apartment on the same street as I extended my trip. It is a comparable price yet very open and decorated beautifully with a robe and bottle of wine to greet me. My dog is a service dog so allowed to be with me.... Most places don't allow pets. If you don't have a pet, I would check out all options of places at this price point. If you do have a pet , Stephanie and Tyler's place and location fit the bill.
We really enjoyed our months stay at Tyler & Stephanie's apartment. The location was awesome, It was so centrally located to great shops and restaurants and only a few minutes walk to the water. I had a problem first day of my stay and after reporting to Tyler he immediately took care of the crises, however it turned out to be my fault for not properly observing that something I thought was missing was there all the time. Tyler couldn't have been more understanding and forgiving of my faux pas! The couple did a great job of making our stay a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend their place with it's outdoor space and proximity to the Presidio, Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf and other tourist sites, as well as plenty of things to do right in the Marina district.

Excellent apartment and location
We moved to San Francisco at the end of December and looked for a place to stay while looking for a permanent home. We had no idea about different areas and chose Stephanie & Tyler's place purely based on the great reviews and what looked like a convenient location for work - and we weren't disappointed. The apartment is in a beautiful part of town. The location is the best you could get - you are a few minutes walk away from Chestnut Street which has lots of bars and restaurants, you have a supermarket nearby, the beach and lots of parks. It's ideal - in fact we loved it so much that we found a permanent place just a few streets away. The apartment has everything you need and is great if you are staying there for a longer period of time. It is very quiet and the comfortable bed will ensure you have a great night's sleep.
Stephanie and Tyler were so helpful and kind and have helped us with all our questions we had beforehand and were very accommodating with us moving in and making it as convenient for us as possible. We would definitely recommend this place and we would recommend anyone staying here.
Stephanie and Tyler were fantastic hosts! The apartment was clean, comfy and bright. The location was also amazing. It was so centrally located to great shops and restaurants and a three minute walk to the water. Stephanie and Tyler's place made staying long term so easy and had every creature comfort thinkable from coffee filters to hair conditioner. It was fantastic.
They were quick to contact us and make sure we had everything we needed for a great stay. We would enthusiastically recommend staying with them. They were incredible hosts!
Fantastic host ! What can I say we LOVED this apartment !! Even nicer than the pictures. Perfect location for everything we wanted to see. It was very quiet with a nice outdoor area. We really enjoyed our stay at Tyler & Stephanie's apartment. Would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in San Francisco.
About the Host, Stephanie & Tyler
We are a young couple who love to travel and eat well! SF is our home base but we're currently living in NYC and we couldn't be happier. We try to be environmentally and socially conscious, we love animals and volunteer at San Francisco's SPCA in our free time. Our perfect weekend day consists of walking down the street to a boozy brunch, relaxing at Fort Mason, walking or biking down to Crissy Field towards the Golden Gate Bridge, and then heading to a delicious dinner (notice we never even had to leave our neighborhood!). We swear by HGTV, Anthony Bourdain and Parks & Recreation. In all, we are an easy-going, fun-seeking couple who love exploring!
